Then they're probably all dc motors I'm guessing. I believe ours is a variable speed dc. Furnace doesn't cycle on and off as much as the previous one so less swing in temps which is more comfortable. I'd also take advantage of the furnace install to revisit your ducting and decide if you want to change or reroute the supply and returns. We had some minor changes which moved the supply so there was more headroom which also ended up straightening the run so the flow was just a tad more efficient.

If you have to get a new one I strongly suggest a hi efficiency. The dc motor will save big bucks off your hydro bill and it's much quieter than the old one we had before.

Thanks Roy. Saw that but propane is measured in lbs up here so I wonder how that translates from mpg ? I'm better with charts so a simple bar graph would be easier for me to grasp Good to see a company looking for alternatives and I wonder if they have any plans for outboards up to 9.9 ?

Very interesting but what will make or break it for me will be cost of the outboard and running time (approx). If a single 1lb cannister can run as far as say a gallon of gas, it'd be worth looking into further, more or less. I could see using a 10lb tank with this or even a 20lb. I think it's telling that they're not publishing these details (that I could find), esp the run time and/or distance at a given speed. Something we can compare to a gas kicker.

re:beef There was an article somewhere talking about Xl and large processing plants and the gist or one of them I think, was that even though beef may have been raised hormone free/grass fed etc, the processing plant may negate those benefits through poor cleaning etc.. I'll try and find the article but it had a 'don't be so smug kind of warning for those who choose to eat that type of beef.

Browsing the latest online sale flyer, Canadian Tire has the Rapala Pro Select Nitro Power ice auger (8") for $280. It's marked down $170. Sale is three days only, started today and ending Sunday 25th. If this is a good auger, that seems to be a helluva decent price.

I have a 120 Fishing Buddy but now use a 160 Piranha Max. If portability is your primary concern, then the Fishing Buddy is a pretty decent finder. The side scan feature is pretty interesting as well but keep in mind it doesn't tell you the depth, just that they're in front of the beam. I wouldn't recommend these portables for shallow water use however. The scan cone is pretty tight so if you're in shallow water, you're not really looking at very much area so you may not be marking much. Deeper water would be better. Also wouldn't use this on a boat that's going at any decent speed otherwise it'll either rip the mount (not super likely) or wobble like a dashboard bobble head on a washboard road. I can see using mine (if I keep it) on interior canoe trips if for some reason I feel like I need help looking for features or finding fish. If you have spare AA batteries, you can go for some time before it becomes dead weight. The 160 Piranha Max is a much better unit if you'll be using it in a tinny or larger. Only thing I plan to do is make a bracket to secure the transducer that'll get clamped to the transom. Not really liking the suction cup attachment.

The sooner people stop eating over processed breads (read white), the better. The occasional hot dog or burger bun is alright but not as a regular part of the diet. Don't get me going about the sugar laden junk foods either Of course this isn't just a Wonder bread issue but an industry wide problem and I do feel for those who could lose their jobs.

This was on CHCH the other night, very tragic and didn't sound like an 'accident' from what I gather. They showed the field he was in and it's wide open and would be no mistaking him, imo, for anything that would be in season. Negligence ? I'd like to hear that rationale... Never made my own inlines but I would second Joey's advice about leaving a long tag end. The longer tail would give you better leverage for those wraps. and Roy's advice is very important, get proper eye pro. One thing I'd experiment with if you don't want to get a bender would be to get a length of hardwood dowel. Drill an appropriate sized hole down the length. The wire would slide in here and the dowel would be used as a wrench for making your wraps. Kinda like taping your hockey stick. just thinking...
