Edmonton is the poster child for a what happens when you stack a team with 19 year old stars...absolutely nothing. It doesn't have to be Stamkos but there has to be someone with leadership and mentoring qualities. Remember when the Pens signed Gary Roberts way back?

Mount it where you have the most room to stand/cast. The bow is the best but if the layout is not accommodating to fishing and easy access to rods and tackle, it's not the best location for that application.

Pointless thread. It's been debated on every forum since online forums were invented. Stating which truck is best is as dumb as saying which ones are crap. The big 3 roll 700,00 new trucks off the line each year, we buy one every 3 years...maybe, and that qualifies people to judge an entire industry. LOL My perfect truck would have the style from one, the interior from another, the powertrain from yet another and the reliability from a fourth. Until that's possible, pick one you like the looks of and roll the dice...just like everyone else.

Millard and Smich just got handed first degree murder for killing Tim Bosma. Judge gave them life without parole for 25 years. Two more scumbags off the street.

Now if they'd change the law to temporarily allow shooting from a moving vehicle I'm going to have a new hobby! Smiling just thinking about it. -

Dispute over flat earth leads of fire

Absolutely ridiculous. Of course the earth is flat, just ask anyone with a tiller. -
I'm weighing in on this now only because of HH's comment. As Canadians, we cannot truly comprehend the depth of the gun culture in the US. Just as they cannot understand our aversion to it. This is because as HH illustrated, we view it from opposite angles. They see gun ownership as a right, as a basic need for life; food, shelter, security. We see it as something that erodes our security. My work involves the small arms industry in Canada and the US. For perspective, I can confirm that one of the well known US firearms manufacturers produces 30,000 guns per MONTH. That's one manufacturer. In contrast, a top 3 Canadian manufacturer is about 6,000 per YEAR with the majority being exported. I believe that Art believes every word he says and that if he owned a million guns himself the country would be safer than Canada. Unfortunately, that is not the case and the lack of control - of the few people that need it, is overshadowing the freedoms of the many that don't. This is clearly a "when in Rome" scenario. If I lived in the US, in that culture...Art would be the first guy I'd call for a how to defend my family lesson. In reverse, if Art moved here, I could tell him to happily keep his collection of non prohibited firearms but the bedside home security stuff isn't necessary. Sleep easy. With so many guns freely distributed the conversations about US gun control are about 100 years too late. And with so many model countries that have low gun crime coupled with reasonable gun control, the choice to defend a wide open system that is clearly failing is a purposeful one. If the government tried any form of control now, they'd get their uprising sooner than later. God bless the innocent that die needlessly and those that live in fear...in any country.

There's multiple reasons for high cholesterol but food is absolutely one of them. Diets in high saturated fats and trans fats are a direct link to having high levels of bad cholesterol. -
LOL good find!

I just watched the video...seriously, what's the big deal? Personally, for a very long time I haven't eaten beef or pork. I do eat some chicken and mostly fish. But that's a cholesterol / triglycerides / gall bladder decision. I'm sure that video was not 100% explicit in the ingredient list but from what was shown, the fat content and salt would be the biggest culprits. If you're eating enough hotdogs to have them single-handedly drive up your triglycerides or LDL choresterol, you need to rethink your menu. I love BBQ hotdogs...toasted buns...diced onions, corn relish and ketchup. ahhhhhh memories! -
Cool, do you have to roll up your pant leg to use it?

Wanna be able to close my eyes and think I'm in a 521C. lol I want to do my carpet be realistically, it's still early. I can go another couple years for sure before I replace. I'm just too picky about my boat. Plus, it's my seats I really need to do. I hoping to find some Ranger buckets online and do the switch. If not, it'll be a reupholstering job.

Ok, I'm no expert on 16' aluminum boats so I have a question...what is the boat's capacity plate indicate for # of people and weight at the max housepower? Just my opinion but if I spent $15K - $25K on a boat and couldn't take two buddies out, I'd be unhappy. I certainly realize hp choices play a huge part and this may be the issue here, but many of the subsequent posts are surprising.

I wouldn't be spending the extra cash for stainless on a 50hp...especially if you're prone to possible dings as just happened.

That's excellent and I'd guess that you make sure it get's it's regular maintenance. The success of any of today's outboards starts with a proper break-in and followed with up with maintenance...not the logo on the side. Regular use of Quickleen, Quickare, Ring-Free, etc. sure doesn't hurt either. There isn't one outboard manufacturer that has a better product across all hp ratings, 2 cycle - 4 cycle, or high performance >200hp.

98% of all Yamaha motors are still on the water. The other 2% made it back to the ramp.

Looks really good. Did you pad the front deck?

Better late than never...here's the update to my steering swap. I bought the hydraulic HK7400 steering kit and spent a good part of a day installing it. The toughest part was opening the hole in the console to accept the 3" helm pump. But all in all, pretty easy install. The bleeding of the lines was straightforward as well. As mentioned, I also installed a jackplate so I'd have easier access to motor height adjustments. This made a huge difference to how the boat handles and has made pad to prop tuning dead easy. I love the feeling of the steering...especially when small quick adjustments are necessary, like driving onto the trailer. Surprisingly, even at WOT the steering is extremely stable. Yesterday I was testing some adjustments I'd made and the boat tracked perfectly straight and I could let go a the wheel at 64 mph on the GPS. This was impressive, I expected it to be "loose". I would hesitate to switch to hydraulic.

Anyone know the results of the fishing tournament
grimsbylander replied to Big Cliff's topic in General Discussion
That be said, do those conditions not apply to dozens or 100's of lakes nation wide? Would it not make more sense to modify the tournament as opposed to pushing for possible termination and opening the doors to further restrictions to other areas of our sport? In other tournaments I've seen: A lower catch limit? Shorter hours? Biggest fish per hour, so boats would only have one, maybe two fish in the boat at any one time and they'd get weighed in within two hours? There are a multitude of existing rules that are active in other tournaments that could be implemented to lower the risk and number of fish that die (without being consumed). It's my view that this needs to be looked at with an unbiased opinion, mine included, and without the "not on my lake" attitude. As said before, better control is the key. Eliminating live release tournaments will lead to higher kill rates.
