  1. Or the province still charging us every second year for the "fresh Air" program. That program ran it's life cycle out a number of years ago as it has taken most, if not all of the offending vehicles off the road. Today, it is only a tax grab so those of us in the south... no fresh air test in the north! HH
  2. There's a creek the runs on the north west end, that if followed, will take you to a bay, surrounded by cottages. Fish the shore line/weed edges in there as there are some nice largies in that large bay. HH
  3. Thanks for posting the pics! Looks like you doing well this year. And thanks for the pic where you are using a bottle cap to hold the fillets down while you skin... brilliant idea and a great excuse to open one up while cleaning! HH
  4. From what I have heard, the employees and another investor group have bought the plant and it will in full production, if not already. When I heard that Heinz was going to close the plant, I swore off of Heinz Ketchup, the only brand I had ever bought. Wit this news, I can feel good about buying Heinz products again. Ketchup loves poddaydos! HH
  5. Find 55 feet of water, drop your lines and have at it! HH
  6. She would be well advised to run, should she ever encounter a swan... That said, maybe she was following the goose too closely! LOL HH
  7. I see your point Cliff. And I have to agree with FnS that we just don't have enough info to make a black and white assessment. HH
  8. And so it starts. I would accept an increase in my license fee to help "fund" seniors licenses. To my mind, seniors have already paid enough. Pay during your earning years and enjoy the fruits of your labour in your "senior" years. HH
  9. Well, the options available for restitution for the family as far as I can see are; -incarceration -monetary fines -community service -weekend time served -any combination of the above. I know that none of the above will bring back the family's lost ones, but to me, her actions were the directly responsible for the two deaths. What would you charge the motorcycle driver with, failing to yield? I suppose that could have happened, but can anyone imagine the uproar had the m/c driver be charged? HH
  10. Sorry, the quote thing just doesn't seem to work for me... No Bill, I don't hold the motorcyclist responsible... unless he was tailgating and there is no mention of that in the article. Yes, one does have to be fully aware of their surroundings and one must anticipate the un-anticipatable, especially when riding a motor cycle, but she clearly broke the law by stopping in the fast lane of an EXPRESSWAY! What we don't know is if she locked up the brakes to stop in time to save the ducks or came to a slow stop. Either way, she broke the law. Best intensions aside, as they have NO legal barring, she clearly broke the law. For that, she must be held to account. What if she had stopped because she thought she saw a unicorn... would the nay sayers still say she should not do time? HH
  11. Look at the yapper on that... and the fish looks pretty good to! Well done Cliff! HH
  12. As much as I respect your opinion Big Cliff, I have to disagree with you on this one. The woman was directly responsible for the deaths of two people, regardless of intent. How would you suggest that the family of the victims deal with this, should she get off with a slap on the wrist. She stopped dead in the fast lane of an express way. That's negligence and it led directly to the deaths of two people. The only excuse for that action would have to be a human was on the road in front of her. We do not hold the lives of animals equally to humans... yet. HH
  13. I think she got it down Brian! She's got Poppy hoping and she's catchin fish. Great pics and memories! thanks for posting. HH
  14. I'll admit that I am not a fan...but I was a huge fan during the summer Olympics watching the women play. Far more entertaining without all the broadway antics. Won't even touch the subject of game fixing... HH
  15. Well, I have a ten year old daughter who is exhibiting many of the characteristics of our main character here and when I showed this to a couple of women I know, they just about hurt themselves laughing. Yours truly, The Vagician
  16. LOL Bernie! I think I am going to have to take a course somewhere in order to figure all the doo dads on this thing! Moving from a "state of the art" 1996 vehicle to a 2011 has me scratchin my head with all these functions and buttons! The kids were crawling around in it last night like the circus had just come to town! Obviously we are still in the honeymoon phase, but so far, I likey! Now if I could just find that gosh darned camera... HH
  17. You're right, that is one of the funniest I have seen. I can't wait to show this to my wife when she gets home... my sides are aching! Thanks for sharing... HH
  18. LOL Bernie It's a girls "truck"... Front wheel drive! LOL Always get a hitch if I need to Will. Should be enough room for all the boys and their stuff in the winter though. I'll post a pic when I get it tomorrow. HH
  19. NO hitch Will... but given I don't have anything to hitch up to anyway, at this point it doesn't really matter. It does have the tranny cooler though.... HH
  20. Thanks again to all who responded... We bought a 2011 Flex yesterday. We will be picking it up on Thursday and are pretty excited. It'll be nice for me to have a radio, gas gauge, rear wiper, fuel economy, smoother ride... I could go on! Although my Jimmy has served us for the better part of 18 years, I have to admit that the last couple of years has been something of an adventure! As one become intimate over time with a vehicle, you start to get a feel for what is right what's wrong. Hoping to not have to "get that feeling" again, for some time to come. HH
  21. Well, I completely disagree with the above statement. I can most confidently say that should someone be caught poaching in the north and we hear about it, I can say without question that everyone here would applaud the MNR as well as any fines the guilty receive. Issues in the south get more attention simply because there are more of us here, than there. I would hazard a guess that most here would applaud ANY efforts to support our fisheries... HH
  22. I agree Grimsby... I was caught off guard by my kids last week. My 12 and 10 year olds came home from school saying that Hudak is bad and that I should vote for the Liberals. I asked them where they got that information and was told "by their teachers". Needless to say, I was and still am pretty ticked off by the whole thing. Scaring kids into thinking that Hudak is going to fire people (teachers) and that he is a bad man and will do bad things has really got my knickers in a knot! Not sure how to deal with this though, as I have to tread carefully, with my wife being a school administrator. HH
  23. I hear Auntie Katy is going to shut down all the back/spine clinics in the province for fear that some Ontarians might actually grow a spine before the next election. HH
  24. Nice job boys! Those cheeks look tasty! LOL Well done lads! HH
  25. I wonder if the MNR also checked out their freezers at home? HH
