  1. I was at that show. Nash the Slash opened, then The J Geils Band (Centerfold was their hit at the time), then Heart and finally, The Who. If I recall correctly, it was a July show, extremely hot and "heat lightning was flashing all over the sky. HH
  2. My first "show" was Rush, with Max Webster opening, during the "Farewell to Kings" tour. I've seen countless shows since, with the highlights being; - The Tubes - incredible show - The Who - four times -Blue Oyster Cult opening for Black Sabbath in Detroit -Ozzy - With Randy Rhoads -AC/DC - Back in Black tour -Van Halen - in 1979 and 80 Thinking about it, probably easier to mention who I haven't seen, than seen! HH
  3. Ouch! With any luck, the fish will be cleaned by the time you get home! HH
  4. You can't expect folks who have put in countless hours and hard work, to simply hand out the kind of info you seem to be taking trivially. That and the fact that this site has more lurkers then posters and you have a recipe for disaster on a number of levels. HH
  5. Nit picking about someone's error here is like nit picking about the model of car that hit the hotdog lady in Toronto yesterday. Completely classless and shows no respect for the 49 dead. The fact that you can find any humour in this tragedy speaks more about you, and your beliefs that the President not being a firearms expert. Don't need to know anything about guns to know that what happened and what will again happen, should nothing change. BTW - Trump couldn't one iota about the victims in Orlando, they weren't going to be voting for him anyway! HH
  6. In something of a similar vein, I have a neighbour who believes that the earth is only 5 thousand years old! He's highly intelligent, very aware of his life and surroundings, yet insists that the dinosaurs roamed the earth less than 5 thousand years ago. Will argue that carbon dating is a man made tool that is completely wrong and the the dino's were only on earth for a very short time. How about that for a belief structure? HH
  7. Holy carp fest! Carp are a fantastic way to get kids into fishing and kudos to you, family and friends for the learning experience. HH
  8. A quick Google check indicates that toddlers in the U.S. have killed more people in 2015 than terrorists. So far this year, 23 people have been killed by toddlers in the U.S.. Please don't start with the analogy of how many people have been killed in cars this year we all know that toddlers can't reach the pedals and steer at the same time. HH Ps - to Art I hope you understand that the reason we do this kind of thing is that we care about our neighbours to the south. If we didn't care, we would be up here eating popcorn watching the carnage ensue.
  9. Congrats on the catch! Taking lessons from Lew on how to smile holding a big fish are paying off! HH
  10. By the logic being spouted by our friends here, from south of the border, they had better start updating the arsenal as I am sure that their government is constantly upgrading their arsenal. How on earth will you be able to fight your government, defend your rights, if the government has better guns then the public? I'm starting to feel like I should not be feeling bad for the victims of this horrific event, but for all Americans who are being forced to live in a place where there is no right to live, just the right to defend. HH
  11. I'm guessing Justin is really beginning to hate coming to Ontario! Every time he has a public appearance here, he then loses a few hours afterwards having Katie removed from his rectum. HH
  12. FYI- http://www.cos-mag.com/safety/safety-stories/4992-driver-distraction-still-number-1-factor-in-road-deaths-ontario-police.html HH
  13. Sure, go spend $600 on a new iphone to replace the one confiscated. Then drop what ever at the app store and on your way home, don't forget to pay the $400 fine as well. That's a $1000+phone call/text that you just made/received! I also have to wonder what an employer would say, should the phone being confiscated be a company phone. As far as a warrant is concerned, is that call/text really worth the court time and legal fees incurred to fight it? Driving is a privilege. Folks have to remember that! HH
  14. Sure they do MB, they can choose not to use their phones while behind the wheel! Once they have made a choice, they must be prepared to deal with the consequences. Unfortunately, those consequences can end very badly for innocents. I still think that if you are caught, confiscation of the phone is the best answer. Escalating levels of confiscation based on repeat offenders should also be considered. HH
  15. I likely have more cars on my street, then Ernie does in all of Dunsford! That's the real difference. HH
  16. Does anyone else find it ironic that this same government that insisted on building gas plants across the province has now decided, a scant 5-6 years later that gas plants are bad? The amount of wasted money is mind boggling. Dutch, if it means anything to you, I have not ever seen you, in any post, praise Wynne or her government. That is one thing that I am pretty sure about you. HH
  17. I have to admit that I am surprised that they don't use a shielded cable for these units. It can't cost much more than an un-shielded cable. Just like a mic cable has to be shielded due to the low level of signal being susceptible to outside interference. HH
  18. Wow, I didn't think that this thread would take off like this! One thing I think some of us need to consider is our location in the province. Those of us here in the GTA are dealing with millions of drivers on the road, every day. That's a whole lot different than what folks living in small towns or rural areas experience. Ernie says go ahead and catch me and likely, he's not ever going to be "caught" and is likely not the problem driver we are talking about. We have traffic like L.A. here in Toronto. It would be the exception to travel any length of time in the city and NOT see some tool on the phone. Too many times I have had to avoid a situation at highway speeds caused by a distracted driver. MB, I definitely see your point and others regarding privacy, but like drunk driving, you give up your rights when you put others in jeopardy with your actions. HH
  19. All good except for when a passenger is using their phone in a car! HH
  20. I think you may be right Peter, the car is licensed, the driver is licensed, but the phone is not. Impounding the car, is probably the easiest legal route to go. Impounding the phone as evidence until trial could be another tact. With the traffic on the highways here in the GTA, you have to keep your wits about you. I don't need a distracted driver to take me or my family out, cause they got a text. HH
  21. I've been putting my thinker box to work lately, trying to come up a solution to the problem of people texting/talking on their cell phones while driving. I have read that texting and driving is equated to driving while impaired, from an ability to perform behind the wheel perspective. Well, with that thought in mind, why not equate the penalties in a similar way? To that end, I humbly suggest that those caught texting/calling/surfing while behind the wheel, be subject to not only the now roughly $400 fine, but also confiscation of their phone for a period of time. We take the car away from a drunk driver, why can't we take the phone away from a distracted driver? First offense, phone confiscated for 10 days Second offense 30 days Third offense 90 days Probably won't ever completely solve the problem, but I bet many would think twice before they reach for the phone while driving. Your collective thoughts? HH
  22. Man, if the handle was only on the other side, I'd be all over it! LOL HH
  23. Exactly my sentiments. $14k rebate to some downtown T.O. person who buys an electric car. I don't see how/why I should have to pay for their driving decision. How can we have $14k to give to someone who just dropped $50k+ on an electric car, and not fund those kids who fall into the Autism spectrum? How large of a government agency will they have to build to administer this cap and trade system? How much of the money generated by the program will be eaten up by salaries, infrastructure, benefits etc... of those "administrating" the system? Governments have a fantastic record of value and efficiency. And to add, those who live in the north will be bearing a higher cost then those in the south, in this system. HH
  24. Shower in a bag! That darn thing came in more than handy on our trip. As mentioned, ear plugs for sure and bacon! Yes, bacon. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, bacon makes everything come to life; -bacon and eggs -bacon and tomato sangwhiches -bacon wrapped pickereye on the bbq Extra rain suits, more jigs than you think you will need and deep diving cranks. That's just off the top of my head. HH
