As Lew said. Don't expect much of a discount or freebies. It's a trailer only, now if you were buying a package deal then you might have a little room to play. Remember the "extras" are where the dealer probably finds his profit. If you should negotiate a deal please let us know.

Sinker, I didn't intend to offend, just mentioning that mutts can make good companions too. Papers can be important for the right reasons for sure. Glad the dog is going to get a new home, good job on helping the pup out Chickenhawk.

Some of the best pets come with papers....old newspapers that is, soaks up the pee and helps to housebreak them easier. A good pet doesn't need identification.

As a once famous U.S Marine would say, SHASAM! Goooollllly Sergeant Carter you gunno catch a mess o' fish with dat one!

Yep, you were one of the first people I thought of. I also know several retirees of Stelco and have had many relatives who worked there in the past and are now deceased or retired. My mother's father was the Superintendent of Yard Services in the 50's.

UNBELIEVABLE! I was totally shocked when I heard that on the news! If I had stayed working there I would have been there 30 years now, but I would still be a long way from full pension because of the lay offs during the eighties after the big strike in '81. I hope that the company pulls through in the end and.

Haven't been to that part of the city for a couple of weeks, I can say that from the QEW I can see that most of the harbour is open water and where Cootes enters it is open. Pier 4 park boat ramp area may well be still iced in.

Glad to see all is back as usual. May I also add my appreciation to you guys for keeping the board up and running.

As I said, the 360 runs OK on this machine. Older version I did have at one time on the old computer did slow it down at times. Could be that 360 and dual core processor are more compatible? I don't know but so far all is OK. I too was fed up with Norton, but after getting hit I went back to it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending Norton just stating my latest experience.

I'm in hysterics! That is classic! Gotta love it when redneck country gets a dusting of white stuff, just don't go trying to suck it up through a straw, ya gunno freeze your nostrils.

Sorry to say but I have to buck the majority here. I had AVG free on my old computer. I got hit really bad with a virus, trojan, worm or whatever? It destroyed my computer, was going to take it in for repairs. talked to a computer nut at work and he told me what to try. Did as he said but to no avail. I gave up and bought a new computer package during the after Christmas sale season and loaded it with Norton 360 and so far no problems, this version of Norton does not slow things down like other older versions I have tried. It was expensive, about a hundred bucks but found it at Walmart for about 50 on sale the same day I bought the new computer at Best Buy. Whatever hit my old computer would not let me update AVG or download any other anti virus programs or even a free trial of Norton 360. I'm staying with Norton for now as like I said, so far I'm pleased with the performance. BTW, the computer nut at work wouldn't defend AVG. Best of luck Cliff.

Gotta agree with ya Rad. You too Joey There is a good reason humans have little body hair or insulation such as a whale or walrus has...we were not meant to live in this climate!

And the forces that be probably wonder why there is so much cynicism about the whole ordeal. Took mine at the boat show for 20 bucks from the power squadron, JR took his at the sportsmens show from a private firm. Boaters should have been made to take a course and test in order to pass, at least it would have appeared more legit although more costly. The whole operators card thing was put together in haste to satisfy a few... was there an election the year this was introduced? Moosebunk, here ya go: marine safety gov. website info Go to quick links on right side and click Obtain Operator Card

Congratulations! Glad to hear you made a choice. My 25 Johnson 2 stroke does fine with me in it alone, gets up on a plane real easy and flies over the surface beautifully. Now mind you I'm the size of 2 guys of average or slightly smaller stature. When I am in it with my son or a guest it is slower but does move along nicely. You will be happy I'm sure. Have good times doing lots of this

It isn't so much a cash grab. It was brought about as a way to try and control the loonies zipping around like lunatic flies on seadoos, PWC or whatever you want to call them and keeping kids landlocked. I'm sure the government isn't making a ton of money on this as it is probably going to cost us as much as the gun registry when it's all said and done in admin. costs.

4 Stroke. It's only 14 pounds or so heavier plus the weight of the starter, don't forget that is probably not included in the spec weight when you are comparing specs but they are close in weight unless there is a typo. Most comparable hp size motors are much heavier in a 4 stroke version. I went against the popular vote when I bought new a few years ago and purchased a 2 stroke. Ever since I have secretly envied 4 strokes when they glide past me in near silence. Actually I tried to get out of the motor part of my package deal when I found a good deal on a new but non current 20hp Honda at a different dealer for a little more $$ than my then current 25hp Johnson. The 4 stroke you are describing also has an electric starter and this is worth about half of the $500 difference in price. Also don't forget that the battery to power your electric starter is also going to add more weight to your boat. If you buy the 2 stroke you will always wonder if you should have bought the 4. If you buy the 4 you will always wonder if you should have bought the 2. It's a tough choice to make. If you are buying used then that is different, you buy the best cleanest motor for the price. As for smoke? I don't mind a little bit of it, good oil = less smoke, except for start up. I have also seen some 4 strokes on the water blowing some smoke too.

That explains the need it doesn't it? I guess comparison price shopping your options will help to dictate your decision.

Couldn't begin to add up the times the weather forecast was completely the opposite. Went out many times when the wind was totally different from what the weather network or the local TV forecaster said it would be. Sorry for your loss, but it could have been worse. Have fun doing your part in rebuilding the economy shopping for new equipment.

Why do you have the need to change to a long shaft motor? Have you been running a short on a tall transom up until now or do you just think a longer shaft is better?

Most ever won was $150 and a bit more, can't remember the exact amount. Won that the first time I bought a super seven ticket. Ever since then only free ticket here and there or 5 or ten bucks. I always get the encore, insurance of perhaps winning at least a free ticket. Can't win if you don't have a ticket! So I generally only buy 1 a draw for the 649 and super 7. I don't feel that the more tickets you have the better odds you have, just like playing the slots, the longer you play a machine your odds are not increased, it's a proven fact. My father won $1000 in $10 tickets at a local radio station years ago, guess what he won? . . . . Nothing, he wished they had just given him the grand! I just hope to win the encore, a million is enough to make me happy A friends parents won 100,000 on the encore just before they made it more numbers and increased the prize to a million. Another guy I knew, John, his father won big, John doesn't have to work at his old job anymore. My brothers wife won the Irish Sweepstakes a long time ago when over $100,000 meant something and you could buy a new luxury home for less then $70,000. It is possible to win. As for being a tax on the stupid I don't buy that idea. It is the hope of a possible win that keeps us buying. I don't think any of us "stupid" people think we have a hope in hell of hitting it big but it just adds a little something to dream about in our mundane lives. Nine bucks a week (for me) to play the lotteries is not such a big deal after all I don't smoke anymore and rarely have a beer or a drink, alcohol is a tax on the stupid for sure, think about it! I would easily spend that much a day on beer alone if I were still the drinker I once was or a smoker.

Offer him 650 for it, boat and motor. Why not at least make a low offer and see what happens...that is after you have given the boat an inspection. The motor, if it runs it will be OK, parts should be available for the motor if needed. Just remember that if the motor needs to be serviced by a shop you can easily spend what it's worth just on repairs. As for the boat, it's aluminum not too much to worry about. Edit: Just re read your post....Oh! It's a Chysler motor. Offer him $350 and you'll be kind to him and take the motor off his hands for nothing.

OK, thanks Spiel.

Very sorry to hear, my condolences to all.

Thanks, but like GCD said, Driftwood. There is no skin option, at least on my 'puter, to choose from unless logged on. Not complaining, just curious if something is wrong over here.

I am only getting the club skin if signed in, but if I just pop in to peak I am getting the driftwood skin, when I sign in it changes to club. This just started yesterday.
