  4. Well I just got back from Quebec on saturday and yesterday I decided to head out to a little lake I fish to get a couple of bass... I headed out at about 5 or so and fished untill 8 and since I didn't have the keys to the boat lock I just fished from shore. In the couple of hours out there I had many strikes and pulled in 3 or 4 decent bass maybe a couple pounds and a bunch of one lbers these were all on pink Senko's or fin-s shads I also grabbed a couple on some spinnerbaits and even pulled out a couple pike on the spinnerbait too... I hope to go out a couple more times this week as I need to do some fishing to catch up so expect some picture packed reports of bass, Pike and possibly walleye and also some trout reports if the rivers decide to cooperate... Have a great summer all and good fishing. Bill
  5. Hey every one... Been here in Quebec for two weeks without fishing and I am getting pretty anxious as I have the whole weekend off and have been speaking to some guides for salmon fishing near Chicoutimi... Also there are a couple nice little creeks in the bush I might just have to hit too as I have seen some of the fish jumping around at dusk.... Does anyone know of any good guides they would recommend in the chicoutimi or la baie or Saguenay regionÉ... If you do pleas post or pm me a number, and it would be much appreciated. good luck to everyone fishing their home waters, and talk to ya all soon. Bill

Ohh and I jsut packed my fly rod, spinning reel and some universal sort of tackle and my fly tying equipment... so if theres water i guess it will be considered fished

  10. Personally all I really keep is walleye and panfish... Never kept any wild trout or anything off of my flyrod, that is 100% catch and release, but I do like the occasional fish fry...

  16. Great report Mike... I dont think you or anyone could have spent a better fathers day weekend... Thanks for sharing the pics and those are definately gonna leave some memories in your little guy for a long, long time...
  17. I would really only suggest usinmg a fluoro or mono leader in the case of a finesse worm or live bait... Braids/superlines are great with cranks, SB's and Jigs cause you can rip em through weeds and the bass dont seem to mind the braids... i udually tie my leader directly to my braid with a U to U or a Blood knot...
  18. Drive safe and enjoy your trip...
  19. Firstly Fly fishing is not particularily difficult... It, like everything else that involves skill takes patience and practice. The BPS Combo's arent a great rod but they will get the job done, I would suggest either getting one of the Cabelas combo's if your looking for something similar or a fairly inexpensive martin combo. I Think Scientific anglers also has a combo out and I dont think they are too bad either. The difference is if you get a low-end flyrod it is more difficult to learn as it is harder to load and cast with a really slow, heavy rod. Additionally you can fly fish for almost any species of fish. Pike, Bass, Panfish, Trout, Gar Pike, whatever you may want, not just trout. If you are looking for a combo for basically all types of fish from panfish to smaller pike and bass, you are looking at about a 6 weight rod. Hopefully this helps you out some, and if you have any more questions I will try to help you out. Bill
  20. Sounds like a lot of work there Gerritt, Good luck out there man
  21. you can get I hook that will pull it through or you can get a needle and pull the line through the eye of the needle and put it through the bait...
