  1. Great stuff Dan....love to see the young ones having fun. Really like the look of that creek, maybe we can get out on the water together sometime. J...
  2. Drive an extra hour and go to Lakair........lakair.com
  3. Congratulations Brian! Grandchildren are indeed a blessing. 5 for us!
  4. A very Happy Birthday bud, Barbara sends her love........
  5. For me it is more a case of re-learning and putting back into use techniques that we used many years ago that were successful then and are now coming back into focus.
  6. I bought 10# sharks, unpainted, unchromed for around $20 a piece on line last year.
  7. What storm? There was a storm?
  8. Definitely check the batteries. They could be dry, or simply pooched.
  9. ed zachary, I have the same motor and that was my problem.
  10. Not just me talking.............just sayin' Best used utility vehicles in Canada. Need a vehicle that will work for a living? Check out some of the best. 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty CRD Who for? Adventure-seekers, fuel price-averse moms, teenagers, diesel enthusiasts, VIA Rail conductors. What for? Powerful (160 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft of torque) diesel and great fuel economy means the Liberty CRD is perfect for towing and adventuring — but also for long road trips, if you don't mind a rough ride. Great range. Oh, it's got 4WD, too. Issues? Diesel pumps are often dirty and smelly. The model to have: 2006 Sport CRD Awards? Nominated for "North American Truck of the Year" in 2002 Price range: $30,000-40,000 (then), $13,000-22,000 (now)
  11. Dang fine idea if you ask me
  12. Blow and whistle all you want Billy Bob, BUT, the Consumer Reports Bible Bashers are not the Holy Grail some of us seem to think. Pay attention, I was talking CRD... Yes it is not the most comfortable, nor best finished, or best ride in the pack but value for money on the used market it is pretty darn good!
  13. I was thinking pretty much the same thing. They disappear off dealers lots pretty quick. They may not be the best ride or fit and finish of the bunch but they do the job and can tow 5,000# no prob. They are choppy on the highway, but so are most SWB trucks/SUV's. I too can get from Burlington to Lakair on one tank in a 2010 Jeep GC V8 with a 3,000 boat, motor and trailer also loaded with gear. So your 13.0L/C KM 4 Runner is nothing special. And by the way, yes the GC 3.0 diesel is a nice truck, try finding one without getting hosed!
  14. Raf, you might want to consider a Jeep Liberty with the CRD (common rail diesel). Fuel consumption was pretty good and they will pull a house down. Not a huge amount of room inside, but overall a pretty good SUV.
  15. I was pretty impressed with On Star until my "free 12 months" expired. I spend a lot of time in the car and found the handfree, voice activated dialing great. If you have Bell Mobility it can (could) be directly linked so that you use your Bell service to place hands free voice activated calls from the car. With the popularity of GPS some of the "services" are now redundant. Stupidly ran out of gas (in the driveway) and had a " free delivery" within 20 minutes. Never had the call to use any of the other emergency services. I would guess that typical roadside assistance offered free with pretty much every new car today obsoletes many of the On Star features. HOWEVER, at the "normal" monthly rates, I would never pay full price. On Star, plus my handsfree option linked to my company Bell contract was going to be around $85 after taxes (2 1/2 years ago)............waaaaaaaaaaaay over the odds.
  16. Nice looking pup, quick and sincere word of advice............... They suffer quite quickly from heat stroke particularly in an environment like a boat, make sure you keep her hydrated, out of the sun and in the water, (even just walking up to her ribcage.
  17. So how did you do???
  18. Great thread Roy, thanks. Class guys,no doubt. Can't wait to see the full show.
  19. OK, OK, maybe Kevin, Phil, Don and Ruth did the cooking..................
  20. Especially when Kevin "volunteers" to do the cooking!
  21. Sounds like a stellar plan Chris!
  22. Naaaa Joe, no worries, they can Wallis cast that far.....
  23. I would check with your vet on the deet question, I don't even use it on my skin, just clothing. Advantix seems to work for 3-4 weeks against mosquito's and biting flies. Again I would check with your vet for appropriate dose etc... Additionally a repelling collar as a back up would probably help too.
  24. Depending on where you are I would worry a little less about the bears, wolves, porcupines etc and make sure that they are protected somewhat from the bugs. A week or so ago the deerflies were making life miserable for the dogs that were at Lakair.
  25. No fish fry on Tombstone this year Pete, that was a great day, we will have to repeat it.
