Absolutely right Art..

I'm sorry too JoePa it's 100% your attitude. Mass killings happen for many reasons least of all due to police action. Citizens of any country need to respect one another, regardless of their profession or status in life. Attitude is everything regardless of the offence or perceived offence. The situation is going to change quickly once the officer has suspicion that you are hiding or attempting to hide something. Unfortunately if and when you give police reason to suspect you have committed an offence, YOUR attitude will determine the outcome!

Like most of this nature, this thread has nowhere to go but down the proverbial toilet. Like most of us I have very strong opinions that differ greatly from some of my friends both Canadian and American. Although it is a very sad state of affairs, this is really not the forum for those opinions. Just sayin'.........

You will aways get the best possible exchange rate by using either debit or credit cards to purchase the majority of items. Bank cash exchange rates are marked up 2-3% minimum. Carry maybe $100 in Canadian currency just in case. Don't use currency exchanges or you will get royally ripped.

Yep the size and res of those photo's slowed my laptop down to a crawl. Well worth it though!

Yep great week with awesome friends. 3 pike between Barbara and myself but lots of laughs, fun and great food. The Wednesday night live music was fantastic. Barnie is the best fed camp dog there is, he actually loses weight in the Winter! Just want to thank all of the willing hands that came together during the storm. It's hard to believe that my boat could actually pull wood out of a relatively newly built dock especially when I use bungy cords to tie up! Thanks to our hosts Regan, Goldie, Russell, Barnie and Stewie they run a first class lodge. Thanks also to Sheri for baking us our anniversary cake.....not too many guys can brag that they spent their 42nd anniversary fishing the West Arm of lake Nipissing! 42 years and counting Barbara....

As I said previously Joe, ya can't fix stupid! Some just don't get it, unfortunately, until the inevitable happens. -

Some merit to this, but, that will only increase the value of the millions of smart phones out there as it will be impossible to retrofit every phone in everyones hand...there will very quickly become a black market for older and cracked phones. Of course Apple a fiercely protective US company and Samsung of Korea will not cater to the Canadian market or agree to limit the freedom of their customer. There is not a simple answer to the problem. Again, it's not a perfect solution but heavy fines and demerits would cause SOME of the idiots to think twice or start walking..... -

LOL...I was using that as an example in response to your request for "police training" on handheld devices.... Unfortunately, like you, some don't get it until they injure or kill someone due to selfish stupidity.......it's not the law that is stupid, take a long look in the mirror, hopefully not while you are driving! -

Police are also trained to use lethal force if and when necessary......think about it! Using a hand held device while driving has been proven to increase your likelihood of an accident. Some of us ( I guess you) just don't get it! Thankfully you are not driving in my town............. -

Just because someone disagrees Rick doesn't mean you are wrong. The issue with a piece of software is the phone companies (Apple/Samsung) would never let it happen. Case in point is Apple's outright refusal to help crack criminals cell phones. Heavy fines and DEMERIT points are not perfect but will cause enough pain so that these IDIOTS will eventually get it or lose their driving privileges. Biggest problem with this approach is enforcement. -

I'm not sure that there would be a workable way to impound the phone....the service providers, Bell, Rogers etc. would fight it to the Supreme Court. I understand that fines simply provide a certain level of pain, however, $400 is nowhere near enough pain. First offence should be 4 demerit points and $1000.00, automatic and no pleading in court. The level of pain would then be increased through their insurance company depending on whether the offender has had other driving issues. Second offence should be severe enough in terms of demerits that the offender loses driving privileges and will probably need to go to the secondary insurance market to obtain coverage and that is VERY painful. If I seem a little callous and passionate about this issue, I have seen first hand some of the carnage caused by those that choose to text and drive........ -
We will have to test drive some of those Muskie opener Joey.....

It deserves a reunion and soon if we can find a suitable location. I can't abuse my liver too many more years at my age....

Yep was aware it was you two that did the liver damage with the moonshine Art, was just paying a little tribute to GCD is all.... ..I am already coating my insides with layers of protection. Should be ready around June 17!

I too would recommend Mashkinonje Lodge. Regan and Goldie have done a great job since they took over. They welcome you warmly and take care of you well during your stay. Regan has done a great job of learning the waters and "spots"....

Thanks for the memories Brian. Was a ritual for many years ( I believe I missed the first 2). Surprisingly there were few casualties, (mostly liver and brain damage from the white lightening, the source of which shall not pass from these lips )....this fishing was always stellar, the catching not always, but the times and friendships epic! We always seemed to have more than plenty of pike fillets for the pot luck fish fry and awards (BTW the batter b-i-t-c-h-e-s were my favorite, gently caressing the fillets with egg and secret blend coating )....oh and I joined the FF's immediately and unfortunately never left to this day.. Vitamin water never worked for me.....bloody ceasar all the way!

Yep, but in fairness Dan, all shops including mine do a multi-point vehicle inspection with oil change or tire change. We do an honest inspection with written report that the customer is involved in and is offered as a service. Written quote for all repairs needed and the customer has the option of getting a second opinion. We see vehicles in here DAILY with no brakes, leaking shocks and struts, bald tires, rotten brake and power steering lines just to name a few issues..... A prime example of the need to ditch e-tests and replacing it with a safety inspection every two years.
