If I remember correctly, the deer you claim to have seen was five feet at the shoulder. According to Answers.com white tail deer are 32 to 40 inches at the shoulder. A wolf the size of a deer wouldn't be much more than a bight sized snack for what you claim to have seen.

My 1994 Alumacraft boat sank right to the bottom after a rain storm. I understand that boats have better flotation now days. I also notice that they seem to be much more conservative in the horsepower ratings these days; perhaps flotation plays a part of that decision. I did have a bit of am oman a week or two before the sinking. I piece of loose foam drifted to back of the boat while I was bailing. It sank rather than floated. It did float after I let it dry out. I suspect that a boat that is moored to the dock all summer is more likely to go down than out that is stored out of water and can dry out between uses.

Father Son ice fishing hut rental for Simcoe?
John Bacon replied to John Bacon's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for the replys. Many of the suggested places were booked solid. We did manage to book a place out of Pefferlaw for today. The action was slowere than I hoped. But everybody did catch something; both of the kids caught at least a couple each. Nothing huge, but at least the kids didn't get skunked on their first trip. -
Aside from the gold, the 4th, 5th, & 11th finishers were also Canadian. The silver medalist was born in Canada but compets for Australia. Four out of the top five finishers plus the 11th place being Canada is quite impressive as well.

That would make for an interesting show; but I think they needed to keep it "G" rated.

A couple of of friends and myself are hoping to take our sons (all ten or eleven) for their first ice fishing trip. Can anybody recommend a hut rental firm on Simcoe? I was figuring that perch would be our best bet since action is more important than size when fishing with 10 & 11 eleven year olds.

Has anybody fished areas that do have asian carp? Are there still catchable quantities of other fish? I keep reading how they will eliminate all other fish and be the only species left in the lake or close to it. Has this actually happened in other areas? It seems to me that if they so much plankton that there was no food for other fish then there would also be no food for asian carp. I don't want to imply that we should just let them in; but we always hear about these doomsday predictions for every invasive species that never seem to be such a catostrophe. They may be a greater danger to boaters than they are to fish. -
Boat Modifications (looking for advice)

Is that supposed to read $16,800 for a Holiday DLX? Are you comparing the Holiday hull only to a Holiday DLX boat/motor/trailer package? There is no way that a Holiday DLX would go that much for just a hull. -
Careful what you say. Next they will be suggesting that we use robotic animals for hunting and fishing.

I checked out several boats in that range. I ended up with a Princecraft Holiday Delux Side Console. That seemed to be the best bang for the buck. I don't pick the boat up until spring so I can't say much about it.

Has anybody actually heard of an insurance company denying a claim because someone did their own wiring? I haven't heard of it happening. I think it would make the news if it actually did happen. -

While initially there was some talk of the problem being caused by floor mats, it has since been determined that the problem is with the accelerator itself. -

Didn't Wishmasters sell for about triple that price? -
Do you two your boat often? If you tow it to the cottage in the spring and back home in the fall; you may want to consider renting or borrowing a vehicle when you need to tow it. This obviously won't work if tow it to a lake and back every weekend. I can't really suggest a vehicle. However, if are driving for work you should be able to deduct a portion of your auto expenses. That will take a bit of the sting out of the expenses. Remember to actually track your business mileage rather than just picking a % out of the air.

Is it okay when using unleaded fuel; or would you still recommend nonsynthetics? What about blended oils?
-
Yes, but I bet they honour their warranties. The difference in customer service is much greater than the difference in quality between North American and Japanese companies.

Technically not Boxing day sale because these are the standard prices at Bentree Outlet; but I picked up a couple of Cannon Easy Troll 2 Down Riggers for $125 each. I also picked up some J-Plugs for 2.25 and 2.75 each. I plan to try a little salmon fishing this summer. He also had Yozuri minnows for around $4.

Shouldn't that be insured for more than the eight grand that you mentioned in your original post?

Soo how are the leafs doing theses days?????

I am not sure what you are getting at... Kessel was a restricted free agent. When a team signs a restricted free agent they have to compensate the former team. The Leafs compensated Boston by giving them two first round and one second round draft picks. Thus, my comment that they traded away the draft choices that could help them rebuild. -
That is a more updated formula. If you sat that close to an older TV's would be able to see how granular the picture was. That is not an issue with a modern high definition TV. The better the picture quality the closer you can sit or put a bigger TV in a smaller room.

Rather ironic considering that they are made in Indiana... there may be some trim added in Canada.
