  1. Looks like a tiger to me. Too bad you cut the tail out of the picture. Do you recall whether the tips of the tail fin were rounded or pointed? Muskie's are pointed while pike's are more rounded. Based on the colouring I would say it's a tiger, if it hadn't rounded tips on it's tail it was definitely a tiger.
  2. I understand that marine batteries can take more pounding than car batteries. So a car battery may not last too long in a boat that is driven in rough water. I am not sure what you mean by, "it world very long for trolling motors and has hgh power". If you intend to use it to power an electric motor I wouldn't expect it to last too long. Car batteries are not meant to be discharged on a regular basis. They are designed to be maintained at full charge by the cars alternator.
  3. I am interested in the GPS if you are passing through Toronto again.

  4. Are you still looking for a bow mount? I have a Minn Kota cable drive which I purchased for my boat. I am not thinking of going with a remote control instead. I am willing to sell. However, if I sell that means I will have to buy another motor for my boat so I cannot give you any breaks on the price. I would be looking for somthing in the $375 range. Let me know if you are interested.

  5. Don't be too quick to rely on the information posted here. My van was hit while in a private parking lot. The police located the driver (drive left the scene but a witness provided a plate number) and the insurance covered the damages. So I would have to say the one about nothing can be done if it was in a parking lot is untrue. I have filed insurance claims more than 24 hours after an accident. I suspect that information is wrong too. No fault insurance does not mean that your rates won't go up if you file a claim. I would start by asking the guy if we wants to get it fixed or if he will take a cash settlement. Start the negotiations from there.
  6. No need to skip any meals... my parents live close by, I can just eat there a few times I'll start saving for the cap... I hope the pipes are copper because I don't have the tools for plastic.
  7. For some reason the builder of my house installed combined bathtub/shower type fixtures in my shower only stall. It has a faucet at the bottom with a pin it. If you want the water to come out of the upper shower faucet you have to pull the pin up in the lower faucet and the water will come out the top. Of course since it is a shower stall and not a bath tub; I always want the water to come out the top. I would like to get rid of the lower faucet which is completely useless anyways. I am planning to have the shower stall re-tiled, so this is the time to do it. If I cut the pipe and remove the lower faucet altogether will the other controls still work for a shower head only or will I have to replace all of the plumbing?
  8. 1.) There was no double, triple, etc. taxation on PST as it was only paid by the end user. I.e. we paid PST on the cars we bought but the dealers didn't have to pay PST when they purchased a car from Ford or GM. 2.) Manufacturing equipment was already exempt from PST. So Ford and GM never had to pay PST on the equipment that they purchased for their assembly lines. 3.) Ford, GM, and their dealers used to pay PST on office furniture. Now they won't have to. The PST that they paid on furniture purchased before July 1st will not be refunded; they just won't have to pay it on furniture purchased after July 1st. The savings will not be immediate, and they won't be 40% of the cost of a car. p.s. When Nike introduced their Pegasus model running shoe 25 years ago it sold for approximately $110 pair. Now after 25 years of inflation it sells for about $110 pair. It would appear that Nike has in fact passed some of their savings on to us.
  9. The increase in fuel costs does not really effect businesses. The extra 8% tax that they pay is simply deducted from the tax that they have to remit to the government. For example if gas was previously $1.05 a litre including GST and has now increased to $1.13 a litre including HST. They previously would have deducted the $0.05 / litre from the GST they remitted so the effective cost to them was $1.00 per litre. Now they will deduct $0.13 / litre from the HST they submit to the goverment so the effective cost to them is $1.00 / litre. Consumers get stuck paying the extra $0.08 on our gas. One of the impacts of the HST is to shift tax from business to consumers.
  10. Actually many businesses will see a decrease in their cost of doing business. For example, prior to July 1st a barber would have had to pay PST on his barber chair, scissors, trimmers, and any other equipment and supplies that they required for their business. Now these are effectively tax free due to input tax credits. They should be able to reduce their pretax prices; this does not necessarily decrease the after tax prices.
  11. I have seen this picture a few times; it was also mentioned on one of the history channel shows about what earth would be like without humans. Their version of the events was that the snake was attacked by another gator after swallowing that one. The python was probably to stuffed to defend itself. The show went on to discuss the python/gator situation on Florida. Currently humans are culling the pythons in an attempt to eliminate them from Florida. The show claimed that without human interferance the pythons would eventually eliminate the aligators.
  12. The savings would apply to items that purchase that are not for re-sale; i.e. computers, tools, shelves, etc. Businesses are general exempt from paying PST on goods that they purchase for resale but they do have to pay PST on good that they buy for use by the business. These will effectively be tax free because of input tax credits. In theory, the businesses will pass these savings on to the consumer by lowering their prices.
  13. I stumbled on this while researching some info on the 1000 Islands. It is interesting to see what people can do when they put their minds to it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYQDj5mKfSU
  14. This is making the rounds. They were playing the audio on Seattle radio station this morning. My client got a good laugh when he saw the video.
  15. He wasn't pulling your leg; what he said can be true but does not apply to all cases. That is not necessarily true. Land owners may indeed own the river bed of a navigatable river. Don't assume that you are free to wade their water way.
  16. Thanks, it actually wasn't much worse than normal. 401 was slow but 409 was fine. I am in Vancouver now waiting for my to Seattle.
  17. Does anybody know what is going on in the Pearson airport area today? I have a flight at 4:00pm. I am planning to leave earlier than normal. I am not sure how much earlier than normal that I should leave.
  18. I responded to the survey... I hope it helps.
  19. I have seen deer, foxes, coyotes, turkeys, mink, beaver, and more in Scarborough.
  20. I had one from Costco. One of the oar locks broke after the 3rd time I used it. The material that the main body is made of seems to be good for the money. But they are really difficult to paddle after you break an oar lock.
  21. Legend does not make their own hulls. They purchase them from other manufactures and add their own trim. Smokercraft has supplied many of the hulls for Legend boats and continues to do so.
  22. Does anybody if LeBaron's carries M.C. Rockets?
  23. Where do you draw the line? Lots of universities give out honourary degrees. I am sure that pretty much every university has given an honourary degree to someone that you don't like. Do we all refuse to hire students from universities who have given a degree to someone we don't like?
  24. If you are buying new the tax won't matter whether you buy before or after July 1st. You either pay 5%+8% or 13%. Six in one, half dozen in the other. I am not sure how the new HST will work on private sales. That is something you should research. I purchased a boat last fall. I ended up with a Princecraft Holiday DLX SC which I thought was the best bang for the buck. If you are looking at new you can expect to pay about $1,500 or above the advertised price to cover freight, rigging, documentation, etc. That is before you add the taxes. p.s. Take a look a the classifieds on this sight, I think someone had a Princecraft 167 in your price range. I am not sure if anybody is still carrying Merc 50hp 2 strokes. If so they are much cheaper than 4 strokes. A 50hp 2 stroke is cheaper than a 40hp 4 stroke. In some cases you could save money by buying a bigger boat with a 50hp 2 stroke instead of a smaller model with a 40hp 4 stroke.
  25. Look on the bright side; the last Chicago cup win was followed by three consecutive Leaf cups... they say that history repeats itself.
