School In Class Salmon Hatchery Dec 15
John Bacon replied to spinnerbaitking's topic in General Discussion
Metro East anglers has supplied fish to in class hatcheries in the past. So there has been some activity in GTA schools. Where in the GTA are you? I know that Jerry Ouellette from Oshawa is very active in involving children in fisheries projects. You may also want to consider a school trip to Ringwood. It is slated to close after this year; so this season is your last chance. -
Snow White Snow White used her new digital camera to take pictures of all the dwarfs. When she ran out of memory, she took it to the store to get prints made. A week later, she returned for the photos, but the clerk said they weren't ready yet. She was so disappointed that she started to cry. "Don't worry, Snow White," said the clerk, consoling her. "Someday your prints will come!"

Unfortunately the federal government won't be able to help you with your operators card. You will need to contact the private company that gave you the card in the first place. If you can'f find them you will probably have to take the test over again. The government doesn't keep any records on the cards... wonderful system

The Chicken Farmer A chicken farmer went into a local tavern and took a seat at the bar next to a woman patron and ordered a glass of champagne. The woman perks up and says, "How about that? I just ordered a glass of champagne, too!" He turned to her and said, "What a coincidence. This is a special day for me; I'm celebrating." "This is a special day for me, too, and I'm also celebrating!," says the woman. "What a coincidence," says the man. They clinked glasses and he asked, "What are you celebrating?" "My husband and I have been trying to have a child," she replied. "Today, my gynaecologist told me I'm pregnant!" "What a coincidence," says the man. "I'm a chicken farmer. For years all my hens were infertile, but today they're finally fertile." "That's great!" says the woman, "how did your chickens become fertile?" "I switched cocks," he replied. "What a coincidence," she said.

About Last Night ... Two Perspectives A woman told a friend, "I had sex last night. Did you?" Her friend replied, "Yes." "Was it good?" "No, it was a disaster. My husband came home, wolfed down his dinner, jumped on top of me, finished in four minutes, rolled over and fell asleep. How about yours?" "Oh, my night was amazing! When I got home, my husband took me out for a romantic dinner. Afterwards, we took an hour-long walk. When we got home, he lit candles all around the house and we had an hour of foreplay. Then we had an hour of fantastic sex, after which we talked for hours. It was like a fairytale!" Meanwhile, in another room, their husbands were also talking. "Did ya get any last night?" "Yep. When I got home, dinner was on the table. We ate, screwed, and fell asleep. It was perfect! How about you?" "Yeah, we did it, but it was horrible. The electric company shut off our power 'cause I hadn't paid the bill so we had to go out to eat. She ordered a meal so expensive that I didn't have enough money left for cab fare home, so we had to walk for like an hour! And since the power was off, I had to light candles just to see. I was so pissed that I couldn't get it up and then I couldn't get off for another hour. When I finally did, I was so bummed that I couldn't fall asleep and my wife just wouldn't stop jabbering!"

Maybe they don't remember being there before (it's been awhile) and who knows when they will do it again

You either have an impressive memory or need some new reading material.

1993 - but that is not a fair comparison; the Jays have finished in the top 16 since then; unlike hockey that doesn't get you in the play offs. The Jays do have season where they win more games then the lose. The Leafs haven't done that in a while.

Whats the dumbest thing youd dog has done
John Bacon replied to mercman's topic in General Discussion
My sister's dog jumped out the back of my brother's boat at full throttle ... I had hold of the leash so he did a bit of body surfing before I could let go. -

Our prices in Ontario fluxuate between a ~$1.00 to ~$1.10 ... I'll take that over a price that stays at $1.169 any day.
-
That would be an improvement... the Jays aren't that bad.
-
No he didn't. He played out is entire contract with the Leafs and became a free agent when his contract expired. He then signed with Vancouver as a free agent. That is why they didn't get anything for him.

Furuno fish finders - are they any good?
John Bacon replied to Canadave's topic in General Discussion
If you see one of those "stupid archy things" on your fish finder you can be confident that it is a fish. I have seen a graph display 6 or 7 fish symbols when the boat is tide to the dock in 3 feet of clear water without a fish in sight. Not displaying the fish symbols is a plus in my opinion. -
I am an accountant with bookkeeping experience what crimes have I supposedly committed? I resent being labelled as a criminal based on my profession.

You only talk to the stupid one; the ones you don't catch are the smart ones

Thanks for the information; there is a lot of things there that I had not considered. I do have three bath room vents and an exhaust fan in the kitchen; if the vents to the outside are to be eliminated I assume that I would have to vent the bathrooms and kitchen exhaust to the HRV unit in the basement? If I did that I should probably put the stove against and inside wall instead of an outside wall. This sounds like a lot more work than I was intending to take on.

One of my co-workers is trying to get a discount on a HRV system by getting a group of us to all buy one. My son has asthma so I think it would be a good idea to have one. The one she is looking at is the Lifebreath Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV) RNC10 (123 - 177 CFM). Is anyone here familiar with this brand and model? Is it one that you would recommend or one that I should avoid? What would be a typical cost of an HRV unit plus installation for a ~2,000 square foot house?

I not much of a steelhead fisherman myself; but I wouldn't expect much action at Colonel Danforth Park. You may see a few strays in there but it is neither stocked nor does it have a self sustaining population.

They also make at least some of the hulls for Legend boats.

I had a 1993 Suzuki 55hp. It had screws on the carburators that allowed me to drain the fuel from the carbs. Yours may have these as well. May be too late now but I recommend putting stabalizer in the fuel before you are ready to winterize so that any fuel in the lines, carb, etc. will contain stabilizer. As already mentioned, changed to lower end oil, fog the motor, and add proper grease to all of the grease nipples. Checking the plugs is a good idea too.
-
My understanding is that water will remain seperate from a non-marine oil. The water will actually mix with a marine grade oil. If you get a leak in your lower end while useing propery marine grade oil, the oil turns milky white but still serves its purpose. If you get a leak while using non-marine oil the oil and water will remain seperated. Water does not make a good lubricant or rust inhibitor for your lower end. I guess you say that you don't need proper marine oil unless your seals are less than 100%. I'll pay an extra few bucks a year just in case. I think that's what my instructer said... it has been a few years since I took the course.

They were referring to Toronto, Kansas in the video. Having said that, they are in Lake Ontario so any of the rivers in Toronto may get a run of white bass... worth a try.
