I'll be there setting up the Muskies Canada Booth Wednesday night and working the floor on Friday and Saturday. We'll have booth numbers 134-135. Not sure where exactly but was told it is on a corner. We will have tickets available for the Muskie Oddessy there as well. Please feel free to pop in for a visit and bring lots of CASH!... We will have membership forms for renewals as well as for new members. Don't be afraid to ask us questions about the Lake Simcoe Muskie Restoration Project. We have had some trying experiences with this project but every experience is a great learning experience. The Sir Sanford Fleming Collage has also stepped in on this project with us as well. This is a great opportuinty for 1st year graduates to practice what they have studied. There are other MCI projects under way but the Toronto Chapter has undertaken this one. Hopefully there will be a few other members from Kitchener-Waterloo and Hamilton in particular, to help with any questions on what we are all about.

Fishing for Tyler - Need an estimated # of attendees...
Ron replied to tonyb's topic in General Discussion
I'll be bringing out the generator, 2 folding tables extension cords and such as well. With my trailer, it can be set up for collecting the donations. This will give you some space on the tables for food and then clear them up for the prizes afterwards. (I'll even bring a space heater we can set up in the trailer for a warm up room too.) -
Enjoy you cottage Wayne, don't worry about your boat. It'll be there in another 4 months for the May 24 weekend. Now this is where we start getting the itch on open water. Did you know before you can get out in your new boat, it will be around another 100 days before the ice is out? Just wanted to to know bud. I'll remind you about this once in a while. Afterall, what are friends for????

The 401 East Bound id open now. Traffic is moving through. WEST bound they seem to be diverting traffic to HWY 7. At the moment, traffic is backed up to HWY 45 only. Burnham St. exit is moving fine. You can get back on the 401 in Grafton, no traffic back up to there as of yet.

Yeah, thiings aren't looking too good on the 401 right now. I haven't spoken to anyone yet but heard it will be closed until 7 Am at minimum. They called in additional satff at the Hospital, Air Ambulance could land at the scene becasue of weather conditions. I went out to the barn to feed our horse and drove on the overpass near the accident, all flames are out now but surely will take a long time to do the investigation and road repairs. Anyone heading this way, your best to take hwy 28 North exit in Port Hope and head East on Dale Road (106), North on 45, East on Centerton Rd, then head South on Aird St. This is a longer way to travel but I can gaurantee it will be quicker than taking the #2 through Cobourg to Grafton.

I just received an email back from the Conservation Officer who I had sent an affidavit and photos to in regards of the 2 guys fishing with several rods. In my eyes, these poachers were very fortunate of the conditions (weather, time of day, etc...) Here is the email I received. Greetings: I would first like to thank you all for taking the time to get involved and assist us with this investigation. Most people wouldn't bother. Unfortunately I will be unable to lay any charges against these individuals. I submitted every possible combination of registration numbers I could think of to Canada Customs and unfortunately came up empty. I then submitted the digital photos you folks provided to the Technical Services Branch of the OPP to be enhanced. I was advised by them that the number of pixels in the photo were not of a sufficient enough number for their programs to be able to clarify the registration numbers. We will have to be satisfied that the exposure you provided on your website regarding this matter got the message out loud and clear that this activity is unacceptable. I believe that it also put people on notice that they never know who may be watching them and taking photos. Once again I would like to thank you and I hope you will not hestitate to work with us in the future. Yours truly, ****** **** - Conservation Officer Ministry of Natural Resources Next time, these guys won't be so lucky

Excellent shots Justin. What day did you go? We were there on Saturday. Rain, cloudy, snow, Sun.... we had it all! We never saw that Snowy you got pics of, all ours were in the full white plumage. Do you go there often?

Thanks for the compliments peoples. DanC, I remember that night! I heard the little buggers all week and didn't pay any attention to them at all, not until you made a comment about it. What we heard was the "back up beacon call" from a Saw-Whet Owl. It is one of their primary calls during the breeding season. All of these birds were seen on Amhearst Island. Just like fishing, get away from the "hot spots" and do a little searching away from the crowd. Finding the Saw-Whets were the biggest challange. These Owls are teh size of a Robin, now picture trying to find that in a Bush thick as the hair on a back of a dog. Not an easy task but well worth it with the reward of a few pictures. The above pictures 4 and 5 are the same bird. Once I got the camera set up on the Tripod, my friend moved a little and stepped on a puddle making the Saw-Whet change his pose, kinda funny I thought. Majority of the time we are looking for signs of the Owls ie: white wash and pellets. We found one spot where the Long Ears were roosting and would see anywhere's from 3 to 20 pellets under one tree, this is a good indicator of their haunt! I should actually start taking picures zoomed out just to give an idea of how difficult these guys are to see.

Thanks for giving me an excuse to get out and look for Owls Pam. I/we got 6 Snowy, 15 Longear, 1 Shortear and 2 Saw-Whets. Well over 2 dozen Red Tailed Hawks, a dozen or more Rough Legged Hawks, a generous amount of Harris Hawks, 3 Kestrals, 1 Ringed Neck Pheasent and a bonus Bald Eagle. So yes, I had a GREAT day!

Well, I narrowed it down to 80 Pam. Here is the link to them and here are a few for the board. Link : http://s19.photobucket.com/albums/b181/tac...;slideshow=true Baby Sawhet Northern Hawk Owl Longeared Great Horned Great Grey Eastern Screech Boreal Barred

Maintenance on Condos and Apartment buildings. Consists of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, finishing work, masonry, etc. Mostly troubleshooting. As one of the Property managers I work for says. "What ever the problem is, call Ron".

It all depends on what you call over spending. I work hard so I can take time off to enjoy life while I can. If you count the amount of money I spend including gas to get to my destinations, I would have to speculate it is in excess of over 7 g's. Buying a new boat this year isn't added to the equation...

Ya, it's going to be nip and tuck for us as well on Rabbit Lake. They offered for us to use the Ice Bungalo on shore and then use portables. Not liking the idea of that....
-
You are a fishing guide? Never knew, I do know that you are not the all knkowing angler though! Just kidding, congrates on the milestone Richard.
-
You did a fantastic job on them Jim. Let me know when you start taking orders...

Carp will have to remane himself to "Shoal Carp" now! Congrates Remo.
