  1. Kewl, now you have got to make up the Newfie Washer Toss game. I was told it was invented by a union construction site. It takes carpentry, plummers, masonry and steel worker skills to make it.
  2. Edited until we find out if in fact it really was Kevin from a resort in Picton.
  3. Is this the Kevin Lavers that owns *edited*??? Say it ain't so!
  4. This one would be perfect for this boat too. Listed in the classifieds
  5. Hate to say it but have to agree with the Anti on this one. (Yes, that was supposed to be funny.) Perfect reel for the price for Kawartha Muskie. If you intend on fishing for Muskie on St. Clair, G Bay, St Lawarence, etc... Go with a better reel like the Shimano Tekota 600. Personally, if you are looking for a spare setup for a guest in your boat, (Oh never mind just read the rest of your post, just looking for a trolling set up only).
  6. Hey, there is no cottage on Sunken Island!
  7. Lew, Not much if any Muskie tackle but he sure does have one of the largest selections around of anything else! I would wager he to have more Rapala lures than any other store in Ontario, including BPS, Lebarrons and a few other big guns.
  8. Well that's not good for you guys Jason! Are they or did your group get any tags?
  9. BJ Tackle in Bewdley, West end of Rice Lake has them as well.
  10. The very reason why I commented on your post is because 2 very good friends of mine went to your "shacks" for a week's fishing and showed me pictures of their "central heat", missing fuse panel covers, boats not set up ready to go, being late on picking them up, staff up and quitting because of lack of guidance, no running water, did you want me to carry on with the list? I thought we went through this last year or was it the year before? A person or a group pay good money to go to your place and they end up with one of the worst fishing trip experiences ever. Not even as much as an apology or perhaps a gesture of a discount for the amount of screw ups for their holiday.
  11. Ya, I tend to agree with Terry on this one. It's onw thing if your clients put up a report, it's another when the owner of the resort puts up advertising er I mean a report of all the BIG fish caught! Kevin, do you pay for advertising on this site by chance? By the looks of the pictures, it must be pretty slow up at your shacks. Only a few groups coming up here and there..... BRUTAL! One must ask themselves.... "What am I doing wrong???" Cheers, Ron...
  12. Here is a better sign to compare it with. There are several items that need to be verified to make it a hybrid. You can not go by coloration alone. If you do think it is a Hybrid, take a close up of the cheek and also of the submadibular pores. These are very important identifiers. Will, please check your PM's. Cheers, Ron...
  13. If I had to do it all over again, I would be a custom brassiere fitter. This is definitely a job I could handle! Cheers, Ron...
  14. Sure I would! Why not??? Think about it, you go fishing with a buddy and he mooches out of your tackle box right. Well say no more to him/her loosing your good lures, just pass them off a few of these babies instead.
  15. Depending on the size you are looking for, you could try a glass and screen shop ie: Linton Windows, Northumberland Glass, Omega Windows...
  16. Unless Lowrance has changed over the last few years, I don't think you can see the charts when you zoom in over 75%. The other bonus with Garmin is you can upload the maps on your PC and actually study the charts and make a game plan at home on a 19" monitor.
  17. Hey Art, Can't help ya with Lowrance but I do know that Garmin has an awesome chart for this area. Highly accurate as well. The advantage with Garmin is you can still read the charts while in "overzoom".
  18. I'm a firm believer in: "Can't tie knots, tie lots!" Seriously though, I make my own Sampson eye splices and use them on everything I can. Cheers, Ron...
  19. Caution explicit language! Ah damn, you know what I'm talking about....
  20. HEY! GET OFF MY SPOT! Just kidding, nice fish though! My calculations put that Muskie at 49 inches btw. (Sreiously, every bit of 49 inches I would say). Cheers, Ron...
  21. Water was down on most of the lakes we fished. Nipigon was down about 3 feet. I have never really figured out the cost of a trip like this. If I did tally it up, my wife would probably divorce me! Your ears must have been ringing a more than a few times Dan. Not sure on a Fall trip though, we don't need to go as far now to find the fish we were catching. I was thinking the same thing Joey. Seriously considering on accidentally driving over mine with the truck! Would I do that? ha ha ha You would have fit right in Jester! Now how could a person compete against anyone that catches a 49 1/4" Muskie and taking home more than a few trophies for her efforts. Besides she would out fish me if Jade went up with us. It was my buddy's camera and I think it was the Cannon Power Shot D10, awesome photos taken with it. Thanks! Cheers, Ron...
  22. I will start off with some photos of our fishing trip up North. Perhaps if I get time I will do a write up about our trip afterward. These are just some of the photos from one camera. There will be more to come including video, you have got to see the videos! A 10 day trip tallied: Probably 40 Brook Trout with 9 Brook Trout over 22 inches, largest being 25.5 inches. (about 7.5 lbs) Zero fish harvested. Dano caught 5 over 22 with a new PB @ 23 3/4". In one day, personally I put over 100 Walleye in the boat (ya, a few were given the ceremonial drift wood sacrifice, along with a few cans of Beans and potatoes.) Dano was not far behind in the Walleye count and he also scored a new PB inland Lake Walleye. Couldn't keep count of the amount of Pike caught but definitely some BIG GATORS were put in the Boat. Once again Dano got a new PB Pike @ 43", you have got to see the shoulders on this girl. (pics coming soon). I want to thank "The Weekend Whiskey Fishermen" (Dano, Keith and Jarrod) for a trip not soon to be forgotten. Special thanks goes out to Dano, had lots of giggles on the trip and can honestly say this has been one of my BESTEST fishing trips to date! Hey Dano, you ought to be in movies! ha ha ha (I can see a new fishing show appearing on WFN) Cheers, enjoy the pics. Ron... The highly sought after trophy Whitefish, took almost the whole trip to finally catch our targeted species!
  23. Did anyone ever tell you that you were a funny man? ha ha ha ...... Cheers, Ron....
  24. Hey I think I know that spot! Got another almost personal best there this week @ 25.5 inches, just 1 inch short of my PB.
  25. Well done Instructor! No criticism here on this end. I find it ironic that the critics here give advice but none of them offer the best piece of advice. That advice would be to go out with anonther muskie nut. So here is my offer for advice.... If you ever want to go out muskie fishing and learn a few different techniques and hopefully some C&R methods, send me a PM and we will try to set something up. I won't be able to get you out until some time in mid July though. Cheers, Ron...
