Actually it takes several people to apply for a tag in pool one, sometimes as many as 12 people to guarantee a tag. Majority of the time an individual, though you can apply, will not receive a tag. Your turn. Still, I don't understand what this has to do with the Panfish limits...... Cheers, Ron...

Hey you gotta start somewhere. I used these for the first 4 yrs of Muskie fishing. They were better than nothing. Took some effort but once you start using the larger/stronger hooks, they can be very difficult to cut the thick shank hooks. I guess what I'm saying is: Whatever your budget can afford. Either way you look at it, it's still better thank trying to tear the hooks outa the mouth. Another option is to go barbless, then you won't need to worry about cutting the hooks - most of the time.

I got my exterior vinyl from Home Depot. It's been on for 2 yrs now. A bit thinner but once applied properly, can't tell the difference. There is also a place called DECK TEK in Peterborough, phone number is 1 888 813 7519. We have used this product on many balconies which over lay living space on the condominiums. Extremely durable.

For those of you who can not read the link... County opposes Rice Lake fishing designation Peterborough County won't ask the Ministry of Natural Resources to create a special designation with specific regulations for Rice Lake, county council decided on Wednesday. The county has heard from the Rice Lake Tourist Association about the new fishing regulations that the province implemented earlier this year. The resort operators association argued for higher limits on the number of panfish that can be caught. Council decided against supporting a Northumberland County council resolution to ask the Ministry of Natural Resources to create a special designation for Rice Lake. Local businesses that depend on recreational fishing are fully supportive of the new regulations, such as the daily limit of 300 sunfish of which 30 can be seven inches or longer for anglers with a sport fishing licence, said Terry Quinney, the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters fish and wildlife services manager. "We're fully supportive of these conservation regulations," he told council. "If they're managed wisely, we can enjoy the benefits in perpetuity." Douro-Dummer Deputy Reeve Karl Moher asked Quinney if there should have been more education or consultation with local associations about safety issues with the introduction of ice fishing for the Kawartha Lakes. "That's a concern to our EMS people and our fire department that have to rescue these people when they get into trouble," he said. The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters would be the first to want to participate in any educational campaign with the county or the Ministry of Natural Resources, Quinney said. "Safety on the water is paramount," he said. The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters doesn't support the idea to create a special designation for Rice Lake, Quinney said. "The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters agrees that Rice Lake is special.... The socioeconomic value of Rice Lake speaks for itself.... But we also want to promote every other lake in the Kawarthas," he said.

Gills and Pumkinseeds are awesome! Too bad some tourists operators think Canadians consider them to be garbage fish. They could use the extra business if they promoted it wisely. We have been getting some decent gills in the shallows right now. Don't bother downsizing your baits either, the small guys can't seem to get the hooks in their mouths. Also remember, if you are fishing the Kawarthas, the new regs show you can only keep a limit of 30 Crappie, 50 Perch and an astounding amount of Sunfish. 300 Sunfish, with only 30 of them over 7.1 inches.

Oh sure!!! Don't take pictures of the most important task at hand..... I was the guy operating the ATV. Too bad I didn't know you were coming or I would have said "hello". Had a great turnout once again. We lifted 200 rainbow between 9 and 11. Keeping in mind, the first hour was to rush the river up to get the bows in the pool. Went like clock work once again! Thanks for this Chessy. Hope this makes a difference. To the best of my knowledge, the Counties and Municipalities are starting to get feedback from anglers. We have to let them know we have a voice also.
