  1. Just like Roy I have an Energizer its my third season now a great bang for the buck you must buy the deep cycle only though not one for starting.(it can not say cranking amps. MTP
  2. I only eat Walleye but when I get a big one she goes back. I once read the average female Walleye lays 14 000 to 19 000 eggs where a walleye over 30 inches in the 11 to 12 pound range can lay up 65 000 eggs so this fish contributes alot during spawning. I have caught some big walleye in Quinte who took the hook too deep and died they were consumed not wasted but I found the larger fish not as good to eat. Its a matter of choice I just respect the big females who are a major producer to our fisherie. MTP
  3. Looks like a nice place .I can relate to fishing with my kids I also have 3 and on many occasions when there were little I could not fish either taking off worms taking off fish oh and lets not forget the tangles.Nice tube I just bought a double tube the kids loved it. Nice bass by the way
  4. Thats what I would have said 4 to five hours . I can get about 9 hours out of my minnkota 55lbs of thrust(on a 16 foot Lund Classic) I troll with a Honda 2hp in the rear my bow mount on just enough to keep the boat straight at all times such a wonderful combination when trolling in 2 foot chop the boat stays on course. I would try the new optima batteries the blue ones which look like a 6 pack of cans of pop.My cousin runs these new batteries on his 17 foot boat he swears they last much longer. When I will need another batterie I will give these a try for now I have 2 good batteries. MTP
  5. Nice to see you guys catching Musky and Cliff next time you can show your face you know.ITs ok if the wife out fishes you. Sheesh head less fish holding pics .Carole you don't have to cut Cliff's head off just because you out fish hime.
  6. I flipped my 12 ft tinny 2 yrs ago cost me alot of money .my camera was toast$237.oo dig scale $42.00 net $32.00 Found my tackle box .few....................... My rod was wrapped around my oar and I was wearing my PFD. Thankfully digi camera's have come down in price. Look on the bright side no one drowned.
  7. Wow Mike we have alot in common I just went the opposite way.Same name.Born the same year . I have owned an SSV with a 50hp Honda . I just upgraded to a 60hp Yamaha .You went one way I went the other. we both own a 2hp Honda. So far Honda has been the most reliable boat motor for me .Had a 2000 Honda 50hp,1980 Honda 7.5hp both zero problems. 2hp so far so good. I will have to see how yamaha compares. My buddy GlennK has a top speed of 29 to 30mph with his 40 Honda a Lund 1625 Classic much heavier than the SSV so you are going to fly with the new Motor Mike.Enjoy MTP
  8. Cliff I also find my 60hp four stroke slow on the take off. Recently on vacation I started the boat off in a turn when taking off you would not believe it you get up on plane much quicker . Give this a try I am sure you will be up and running quickly. Make sure you turn sharp when you take off. as for slow trolling speed you will need a kicker. I chose my 60hp Yamaha because it has a button on the tiller that allows me to drop 300rpm's this gets me down to 1.5mph. I still use the kicker when I want to troll even slower. I know Mecury may have this on their tillers but not sure about console models. MTP
