Who will be the fortunate ones to return to the BOQ this weekend ?

Hey outdoor guy where do you catch Land locked Salmon in Ontario.I have only ever tried once in Quebec on Lake Mempremagog right after ice out.Mike

I am waiting for an invite to the BOQ from Percher and Biteme.Need another Walleye fix.

Good to me meet you this weekend Roy.We will have to get together for some fishin this summer in the Boucherville Islands.That said. What puzzles me is quinte's popularity is growing with less places to stay and many already closed in November.Now the tip of the Bay is being closed to be torn down for condo developement.Is this the future more condos and less space for the sportsman to stay.Merlands is going to need to expand .More docks cabins etc....Ok lets invest. Well if you want to get them you have get out early before there is too much boat traffic.last saturday the fish turned on at 8 and by 9 the bite died.I am sure because of the congestion.if you don.'t have boards pick them up they really make a difference.I caught one eye flatlining with a purple spoon with a 1 oz clip weight 40 ft ahead of the weight.2 more caught on mann's stretchmann 20's watermelon,blueberry muffin was also working .You have to try new lures often different colors.Zig zag the boat it vairies the speed of the lure .1 fish flatlining and 3 off the boards.when it is dark don't be afraid to go big .Largeur lures can be seen from a further distance.I like to use lures with alot of white on them at night.The last fish was caught on a yozuri hydro minnow white with light fire tiger markings.this is a a 7 inch muskie lure .If your going to use riggers try and stay above 30ft so the walleyes swim bladder does not swell.speaking to alot of the OFC guys this weekend there were alot of different lures producing.Reef Runners,rapala husky jerks ,rapala deep diving tail dancers,mann's 20's are usually the top producer.this was the first time I tried them and I really like, them they do produce.Some american guys were dragging around dead minnows on a bait rig and they were doing well. Bring an extra life raft just in case you see the people who were fishing in a canoe on saturday .There is a good chance if they go back out they will swamped by a wave from another boat. Oh the people in the canoe had life jackets on but what good would that do in 44 degree weather There were two boneheads escorted back to merlands by the OPP for having no PFD's on board.These are the people you read about in the news.

Well saturday we arrived just past the ferry And Ken and I set up the lines.The bite turned on around 8am.3 fish in 45 minutes.eyes weighing 9.9,5.6.and 9.8 tieing my PB from November 2005.the bite turned off at 9am I sure because of so much boat traffic.we stuck it out until 5pm.We decide to call it a day when at 5pm as I was picking up my gear pliers etc...the outter board went off . 11lbs 4oz a nice way to finish the day.Lures that produced.2 eyes on manns strechman 20's watermelon.lost one at the boat on manns blueberry muffin.caught one flatlining with a williams spoon purple with a 1oz clip weight 40 feet ahead of the spoon.the 5pm eye was caught on a 7 inch yozuri hydro minnow white light fire tiger with orange underbelly.This is a musky Lure.All fish released .it was nice to meet some of the guys and Gals from the OFC.Doug G,Dano,Irishfield,Doug G,Tracker,Joey,Roy my neighbor in quebec,fishin devil and more but I could not remember all your names.As usual Kevin took the time to chat with his guests at the saturday evening fire.I stayed with Percher and that wacky guy Biteme.Great weekend.See ya next year.Mike Hamilton.Here goes my first try at pics.http://mikethepikehamilton.spaces.live.com/ Check out the brave couple fishin in the canoe on saturday.

I was in the Boq Saturday.As fof big Walleye I find they don't fight much.This weekend I pulled in 9.9,11.4,11.8 you don't feel much until you get the boards off.Most of the time they feel like a heavy log .When they arrive at the boat they give a few last tugs but nothing like a Pike of equal weight .I would have to catch over 12 to find out what some of you are talking about.My favorite fish pound for pound are smallies.So for now I would have to say not too scrappy.Mike the Pike
