Need Help! Can't decide between 2 Spinning Reels
Mike the Pike replied to Minnow's topic in General Discussion
Ok I don't know much about the other reel from Quantum but I do love my Stradic.I have alot of Shimano reels and have had 4 Quantums.2 of my Quantums died last year no more good don't work anymore so Like Lew says he likes Shimano products and I think there built to last because I have not had one fail me yet.I have nothing bad to say about my Quantum bait casters. For me spinning reels for now on I am going to stick to Shimano. Get a self inflating mattress they are about 1 1/2 inches thick and are much more comfortable than the blow up mattreses. The Key to keeping warm is investing in high quality sleeping bag buy a model that is rated for -10 or -20.or bring 2 sleeping bags been there done that.My new sleeping bag made a huge impact. It helps to have a few extra beer before shut eye on those cold nights.

Had one it slowed my 55hp down a little but it was never slow enough for Walleye fishing so I bought a kicker.Just get a kicker motor.MTP

WTG Scott. Thanks for the pics. -
I support CC and you cry babies have no right to bash him.Sounds like you guys have way too much Testosterone so you are using it to complain. Its time you little winers found a woman to occupie your bashing time. Worried about your fishing spots!!!!!!!NO COUNTRY IN THE WORLD HAS MORE FISHING OPPORTUNITIES THAN CANADA. Come ice out one third of the people on this board will be in their boats and it won't be long after that when most will be in their boats not in the rivers fishing like you moaners are predicting. If someone chooses to fish the tribs so be it no one owns fishing spots and I don't see the honey holes on this board with GPS coordinates.Nothing wrong with showing some steel. If we did not have CC who would be showing us some steel? Not you little moaners. Its a free country so lets keep it that way. Now if you don't mind I have a bus to catch going to Temagami.MTP

Well thanks Baby Herc for the advice on casting which I like to do more than trolling. In the last couple of weeks I have heard so many of you talking about fishing for Lakers, browns,Rainbows after iceout in March and April so where are all you ice out fisherman .Still waiting to here from the iceout PROS.Where are you guys ? I want to get it right this year.
-
Well folks I am planning to go fishing for Lake Trout,Browns and Rainbows,on a lake in eastern Quebec called Lake Massiwippi after ice out April 22nd. I will be trolling with yozuri pinn minnies narrow small Rapalas.spoons, and streamers on the top of the water.I do not have down riggers.I plan on trying my planer boards and I have clip weights if I need to go deeper. I have only gone once before this early without success for landlocked Salmon and Lakers.Only caught bass which were spawning .I am planning on trolling slowly with the kicker motor. Any advice from the home of knowledge would be great. I have never caught a Brown or a Lake Trout so hopefully this will be the year. Thanks Mike
