  2. Great detailed report I really enjoyed that.Hard to believe people can be so hostile on the tribs. With reports like yours we need pics from your future digi camera.Maybe you can photograph the unfriendly's before they threaten you. Thanks MTP
  3. Gerritt not sure what to recommend I have great success with Honda products. I bought a Briggs and Stratton from Wallmart in 1992 3.5hp rear bagger It just will not die runs like the day I bought it.Don't get a side bagger there a pain in the A-- to manuever.Like DanC says go with more horspower after years with 3.5hp I will go 5 or 6hp next time. When I get back from a 2 week holiday and the grass is long the little 3.5hp struggles with the tall grass. Alot of good products to choose from.MTP

  14. Oh here we go again I started the last thread on this one. Well yes I like my tiller for boat control ,fishing walleye trolling and having one hand free to hold my fishing rod.My previous 16ft boat had a full wrap windshield since it was not a fishing boat it did not have alot of room.I sold that boat bought a 12 foot tinny which I used for one summer which I kept for camping. This little tiller is what made my decision when I bought my next boat. There are times I wish I had a full wrap windshield fishing boat because I now fish from April through November.Could use that windshield in November. If I buy another boat it won't be tiller eventhough I really enjoy the tiller control. Having a roof would be great. After waiting all winter for opening day of fishing sometimes just having to fish in the rain becomes torcher when its only 10 degrees. So the next one will be full wrap windshield with a roof.Side console is good because you have alot of room. I don't get tired with my tiller on a long haul maybe the reason is my boat is 18.5ft long and has the power trim. One thing for sure you can't turn sharply at high speed with a tiller or you risk losing control 50hp has a good kick to it when turning sharply at full throttle.I think when where and time of year you fish should help you decide. If I had the money I would have both.Good Luck
  15. Here ya go Easton.http://www.baysidecottages.com/

Man I am jealous can not legally fish until Late April.Nice pics keep them coming. Yes you look as blind as me without Glasses. Like tjsa said that fish looks like it is printed on your sweater. MTP
  18. Some Good Advice Before You Buy Investigate the differences between riveted and welded boats Riveting is the most durable, reliable fastening method known for high-stress applications. Lund double-rivets all seams and uses single-row riveting for other connections. We use welding only in a few strategic places, primarily as a seal where we join two bottom sections to create a single piece. Learn about the dynamics of twin-plating Twin-plating beyond midship adds extra weight that decreases overall performance. Lund twin-plates its boats from bow to midship because that’s where the boat absorbs the pounding. Twin-plating beyond midship adds costs for a feature that decreases performance. Realize that all riveting is not equal Quality of riveting and internal construction are what determine whether rivets hold. Lund double-rivets its boats, and we use exclusive I-beam construction to create the most unyielding boat you can buy. Compare the strength of I-beams to ribs Compared to I-beams – by any measure – ribs lack the necessary rigidity and cannot endure the same level of pounding. Consider Structural Integrity I-beams provide the internal backbone for planes, skyscrapers, and Lund boats. Our extruded marine-grade aluminum I-beams are built with today’s most advanced construction methods – that’s why Lund boats have the best warranty and resale value. Thanks for the update Wayne MTP
  19. Genmar makes Lund and Cresliner in Canada which will be coming to an end soon.Brunswick owns alot of these fishing boats does not mean they are built the same.I know for a fact Genmar in manitoba built Lunds and Crestliners. My Lund boat has built by Genmar on it don't forget you live in the states things are done differently here.Anyway the Manitoba plant is supposed to close if it has not already. LUND
  20. Spend the extra money and buy a Lund.Ya they cost more but they are built to last.Best resale value of all boats. My Lund dealer told me that 8 out of 10 Legends come back for repairs because they leak.I don't know if this is true but we have heard from many members on this board about the leaky Legends .Fiberglass boats are heavy to haul around.Go try some boats then try a Lund when the water is choppy thats where you will see where Lund leaves the competiton behind.Check out the IPS technology less resistance on the water faster plain and more stability. You can pay now or pay later I have never heard anyone say they were not happy with a LUND.Your other choice was a Crestliner another good quality boat made by Genmar the company that builds Lunds.Nice thing about Crestliners is they have a welded hull. Alot of satisfied Lund owners on the board.Get in one you will see the difference.A Lund Tyee would be choice for big water. Good Luck with your purchase
