  1. What a cool lookin cake, Buddy Valastro has some tough competion there for sure, thanx for sharing Peter, next time ill take the piece between the vent and the tail theres no bones there
  2. After yesterdays rain on top of snow melt, rivers will be a ragin torrent, esp the large Northern tribs, wait till they lower and clean, and flows slow down.
  3. Too much Appleton's Rum, its happened to me on occasion, in the same spot actually, usually with the late Don (Blackie) Blackmore and his pimped out psyedelic converted milk truck.
  4. I have a jar of Uncle Josh Pork Rinds your welcome too, there the frog pattern
  5. Drove carefully to a trib today, hoping that most would stay home due to the weather, which was a good call, as most stayed home, went 4 for 7 on steelhead, ironically with the cold weather those big dark males just dont give up, and the fresh silvers still took to the air.
  6. Save the wood add some rubberized cork to the cap Brady, just addded 2.50 oz of lead to the ass end of my 13.6 RV9 was a little tip heavy, but not now, very nice build by the way.
  7. Maraboo is the worst by far, sticks to the lamp post, and floats around all over the place, plus all the fur and the hackle turns my dog into a frenzie, and there isnt a place or spot in the house where she hasnt dragged fur and hackle to, plus she loves roe as well, and on more then one occasion ive seen remnants of peach, white, chartruese roe tying material out in the backyard when i do her cleanup.
  8. This will be a decent week when the rivers start to drop and clear, might have to use up some holidays
  9. Looks like another master-piece in the making, with the guru of rod builders as the mentor,
  10. Very nice Mike, and captivating, and im sure your story will no doubt send up some clients to the area.
  11. 3 days isnt all that bad Kemper, jeez you got poor Mike the Bass Fisher all worked up for nothin
  12. Ron I love that quote at the bottom, it sure is true
  13. Your living up to the name on your avator Lorne, couldnt imagin fishing in the winter at 1:16am Kudos to you for doing it, i was in bed by 11:00pm
  14. travel and you will find some open water full of chrome, and if not fish them through the ice in the rivers, in the deep holes where they over winter.
  15. Never had an issue with Sail at all, very nice stores well layed out, and reasonable prices, i just hope they havnt gone to big to quick.
  16. LMAO must be workin OK, he sent the snow out the the Rock
  17. Definately works this time of year, wobbling plugs like hotshots, and flatfish, quickfish, and fireplugs etc, letting them wobble in deep runs or holes, and also arching them through the runs as well, especially effective on Coho's as well as steelhead.
  18. Merry Christmas to you and the family Lew, and to everyone at OFC, hope everone stays safe and healthy over the holidays.
  19. Thanx for posting Eric, never fished there, but always wanted to, did fish the Hearn in the days, and the Lakeview as well in the early 80s, i do remember your posts and enjoyed every one of them.
  20. Stoty with all those sponsors you have listed, the last thing you should be asking for is an all year open season for Bass, with C&R only during the spawn, and to have a lone follower in Chris K using Lake Ontario as a comparison, to the smaller waters in Zone 17, is like comparing Apples to Oranges.
  21. Very nice read JB, thank our lucky stars for all volunteer clubs and groups, the angling opportunities would be a lot less if it wasnt for these dedicated individuals.
  22. Nice to see you building one for yourself Chris, she should handle the big flows with ease
  23. Its just a matter of Time, before this goes down the toilet, and gets locked
  24. Why Jamie would you want to have a C&R during the spawn for Bass, as they are one of the few fish species with the maternal instinct to protect there nest, and there young, doing that would leave the nest, and young open to predation. I do not see your rational on that one.
  25. Ron mentioned that there were reg changes regarding several fish species in several zones, a great deal of work went into this by the MNR and the advisory councils, before it goes out for public input, Regarding the question about the Bass changes, and the season opening 1 week earlier, the scientific study that helped to move the season a week earlier was done by Mark Ridgeway, and was carried out on Opeongo Lake in Algonquin Park, which is a deep and cold lake, the link to that study was posted up on OFC earlier when the questionaire went out for the public, if the some members on this board would have taken the time then to read the study, answer the survey, and educate themselves, the previous thread would still be open. Also the increase in the size limit for Muskellunge to 54 inches in Zone 20 is great news as it includes the St. Lawrence River, and finally gives that body of water the protection and distinction it deserves as a trophy world class fishery. The steelhead reduction in Lake Ontario is great news, and ironicaaly when it went out to the pulic for consultation, the stats were just over 100 anglers answered the survey, and only 3 were opposed of the reduction. When i spoke to Marc Dejardon who looks after the advisory council in Zone 20, both of us are avid steelheaders, and were shocked at the large number of steelheaders in Ontario, and Charter boat operators etc who utilize the resourse, and only 100 took the time to answer the survey, but then come on here and whine and complain about it and get the thread locked. Time to order a truck load of that Troll spray and clean things up a bit, or give the winers a pair of knitting needles and a bag of wool for Christmas.
