  1. Hey junior....welcome aboard. Look forward to seeing your ice-capades in the Kawarthas!
  2. Big day, big fish, big lunch....who needs sleep?
  3. What a beauty. That rod was keeled right over...sweet.
  4. I'll bring the 5 pound walleye. Count me in for a case of pop.
  5. Hehehe I still saved it to my computer.
  6. I'd like to see an emoticon of a little yellow circle dude eating fish. mmmmmm. For the record I don't really care though....is there an emoticon for appathy? wait.....yes there is
  7. Is that open water right beside your shack or just black ice Lakerguy?? Nice shacks OldMan!! That homemade cheapie is awesome! Blair... cant' wait to try your shack first hand. How's does she handle with the sled?
  8. that's a beautiful walleye especially when it only takes a few minutes to catch....The hardest fish to catch is the first one. Whitefish called...they don't want your lures. hehehe...maybe next time
  9. **************** Official statement *************** We will be launching from the Callander Government dock off of Lansdown Street, in Callander. I've posted the map from Hwy 11, just zoom out to get a bigger picture. http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&xhr=t&q=google+maps&cp=2&wrapid=tljp129531857537502&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl ***************** unofficial statement ***************** What time should we meet up?
  10. That line should be used in a fishing song. That Amp energy drink sure gave you copious amounts energy...that's a lot of ice trolling.
  11. Abu Garcia 101i. It costs 30 some dollars at BPS or other venues. Good for ice and soft water imo. Holds 4-8lbs test. I used it in -20 the other night (catching ling) and it didn't tighten up at all.
  12. Informative, visually stimulating and respectful to our common passion. Did you just graduate from Fishing Report Writing class? That trout is a beauty and I'm all itchy now.
  13. My brother's got a heavy duty Cedar Spud with a 4 inch cutting end.... 3 wacks and he's through 5 or 6 inches of ice. You "could" make one..... but it sounds like MisFish has the best deal though!!!
  14. If it's not too much trouble, that would be a great idea. If you don't feel like hauling it, I'm sure you can easily find a ride from one of the others....i'll be trucking it on the ice. This cold spell is just what we need to shore up the ice past 12 inches.
  15. I've only seen whole frozen smelts for sale in Alberta, where live bait is illegal. You may find someone who has them in their own freezer but it might not be an easy task. Maybe with a well matched jig head and a trailer quick strike hook, the gutted smelt would work??? This spring, net some smelts and keep them in your freezer., smelt fishing is SOOOO much fun ..I've got some beauty chub I'm keeping for lakers and pike this winter.
  16. 100 iced fish will make you change your ways won't it? hehe. good job.
  17. I was worried about the little buggers.... at least they are mobile now.
  18. The one guy we were fishing with stays at his shack every night he can to catch them...he just LOVES the meat.
  19. This happened last night...in the world of sports it's old news. zzzzz
  20. After three years my blades dulled up and became WAY too much work to try and punch holes by hand... I looked, and looked and looked (so on) for the curved blades and couldn't find them I stopped in at Magnetewan Bait and Tackle and they had one set remaining...clearly left over from a few years ago. Picked em up, put them on and now I'm all I've used other hand augers, but these curved blades are just fantastic in comparison.
  21. I wasn't very impressed with the selection at BPS but I did find one I liked....never been to LeBarons.
