  1. So... I obviously couldn't wait for the G2G on Nipissing so I asked Dad if he wanted to go fishing for a few hours. As it turns out, he wanted to move the shack. We travelled about 5 kms with the sled towing the shack to our prime spot from last year. It did not disappoint. 24 inch walleye, 5 or 6 lbs 45 or so perch, some very nice ones. Jigging a large silver spoon produced the big walleye and a few cigars. Photo number 2 has a blue Perch. 11inches Terrible photos, but you'll get the idea. Thanks for looking
  2. Nipissing apparently has an explosion of smelt which in my opinion might sway the walleye from being structure/bottom huggers to open water/suspending fish. This could also explain why some Nip regulars don't catch as many walleye as before...they haven't adjusted to the walleye's diet switch. Smelt are much better feed than shinners since they have a high fat/oil content. Nevermind all the other controversy on Nipissing, if indeed the smelt are making their way into the walleye's diet then I suspect fishing tactics would have to change as well. Beyond that, I often find perch in the walleye's stomach on Nip. Shiners are also found in the walleye, but I suspect they often come from minnow buckets.
  3. Do the high beams turn on automatically in the cold?.
  4. Looks like the wind forecast has changed from 5 to 10 kph.... are we still going ahead with the G2G?
  5. you went ahead and got your own new emoticons. hahaha Classic OFC drama.
  6. from rc-trucks.org They built these in over 30 years ago. Minnesota was like the Motown of snowmobiles back then and Polaris is keeping that tradition.
  7. yup. Kudos to everyone for the humor, the help, the community spirit, the protective nature of our fishery, the arguments, the locked threads and all the other entertainment I forgot to mention... oh and the mods, can't forget the mods. I wouldn't "mod"ify anything about you guys... two drums and a cybal falling off a cliff.
  8. Bravo...same one my bro still has. He refuses to get rid of it even though it's falling apart. hehehe Some of these sleds are incredible, like the Merc.
  9. Hmmmm I'm gonna guess that you maybe chase musky in that kayak? Welcome from R.C.
  10. Chrome belly pan shows every dent. I don't think we'll ever see chrome belly pans again. Talk about low center of gravity, Yamaha figured it out years ago!
  11. Beautiful sleds Bernie. And great old photos.
  12. Robert Simpson tutored me through college in Barrie...well not really. Great beer! Try it.
  13. Oldman: I was just gonna repost that for you here because it's so nice.... I've never seen that before but I'm blown away!! Is that a "high beam" as the second light??
  14. 1970 Blizzard is one of the coolest sleds ever in my opinion. I also have a soft spot (and a sore back) for the 1985 Polaris SS 440. At 13 I drove one from North Bay to Huntsville, return. I couldn't play hockey or other sports for almost 2 weeks...horrible rear suspension on those things, but great memories!!
  15. Canadian Tire It's never my first choice though. I visit so many tackle shops that I can usually find exactly what i need and have a good chat with the owner. Eventually I find a good deal.
  16. haha i was thinking the same thing. I can picture Mr. Bob in front of a control panel " I think I'll press THIS button" hahaha
  17. Good call Jocko. The new edge design is very techo-geeky. I liked the 2002 ish polaris prox's, the indy trails, older Machs , yammy SRX's etc. I'm relatively young but appreciate good design. The new ones belong in video games. Can't compare with the engineering though!
  18. how is that offensive to you in any way? He treated her just fine yet he's protecting himself...nothing wrong with that. If she wants the product then he just has to explain to her the situation and if it's legit, she should have no issue with this. That call is an obvious red flag in my opinion. Not necessarily a scam, but it's suspicious.
  19. Nice mish mash of fish. Those specks are gorgious. I was talking to a guy this week about Superior perch...says guys are catching huge ones.
  20. Great photos and nice fish everyone. That laker sure is pretty. That's a good gash on your sled...hopefully it's only cosmetic. Was the wallet left on the ice? If so, that's amazing that somebody found it. Maybe it was the guy who moved his shack when he returned to mark the spot... haha not likely.
