  1. Hey Vinnie, can we add a caption with the photos?
  2. Driving a car on 5-6 inches?... Hooo boy! Not me. That person should go buy a lottery ticket. Kudos for being diligent and finding a licensing venue.... And also, kudos on the nice meal of perch!
  3. Great looking buck tails Roy. 1.5 oz is fairly heavy, those must be some good sized walleye your catching with them. And, I thought all markers were inedible... Oh wait I think I read that wrong
  4. Looks like its been stealing shiners! That 6" ling in its gut is wild. Last year I put a 6" chub with a treble hook in it, back in the minnow bucket for future use. My dad, dumped the left over minnows down the hole (I did not condone this) and the next day we caught two huge ling. Well, my brother checked the stomach contents, lo and behold, there was the treble hook! One way to guarantee higher ling catches is to drop the carcasses (perch, ling) back down the hole. They'll basically school up into a feeding frenzy.
  5. That's awesome! Kickingfrog is ready to snap now! Haha. We catch a few huge ling like that each year; did you keep any? How was the perch bite?
  6. Not interested in Little lake or even Huntsville area? Nip has been productive this year, so maybe its worth the trip... Good luck, I feel bad for you Barrie guys this year.
  7. Rainbows were completely silent in the -25 temps on Saturday as well. What's the saying.... a bad day fishing is better than a good day working.
  8. Great story-telling! Anybody would be happy with fish that size... But too bad the fishing gods spoiled your fun with the 'ol one hook shaker move
  9. Two diesel plow trucks just went through (at least partially) at Sunset Point while clearing the ice for the sled races.
  10. It'll be there for a while, frozen in the ice, until the recovery equipment is available... The other towing companys won't touch it yet, with the uncertain ice capacity. Isn't it an Equinox? Who puts a plow on an Equinox. ... And here is opportunity to win Vinnies funny ice fishing photo contest!
  11. Skip.. The money from provincial fishing lisences goes into the Provinces "account"; it doesn't go into a Canadian "account". Each province (fishing jurisdiction) is responsible for itself. Since each province does different things with their fishing resources, they have to charge seperate and different fees for a license. Hope this helps. I buy the one year because I'm cheap. And also because the option of a 3-yr wasn't available to me online. I don't know why.
  12. You no longer have to worry about a lighthouse being in your way. By the way, there will be some cute girls with flares waving you in. See you there!
  13. That's why I won't be driving on Nip till feb or later or never this year. Yesterday, I was in the middle of a backlake and found a random open hole with my foot, 4 feet away from 10 inches of ice. With non-ice friendly weather like we've had, the lakes aren't locked up like they usually are.
  14. The OLG must be laughing at the MNR. "durable paper"... this makes me laugh. Thanks for posting the link. Good stuff.
  15. -26 in the AM here. That just means I'll have to build a fire near shore.
  16. Ha, that's great. I'm gonna turn that into a bumper sticker.
  17. Nothing left in the town of Powassan. Your best bet is probably Terrace Suites in Callander. They are right near the trail system and offer snowmobiler packages.
  18. I believe you that it's 19. It's a great catch Miller, it'll be tough to break that PB. He must have smashed that Mepps.
  19. now they can legally deposit their cheques at the courthouses' inbox. Nice to see the Township and their employees protecting their resources. Those loggers could have easily built a proper crossing for a lot less $. It's much cheaper to prevent than to remediate.
  20. Trails open tomorrow in North Bay. Funny stuff on the second video. Sounds like a LOOONG walk hahaha.
  21. Sure is. I'm not a lake trout hero, but last year we took the access road in, turned right onto the lake, found 60 FOW and fished the area. Sure enough we landed two small lakers. It was less than 1kms from the access point. There is also a major ice road there (if good ice), so u can just follow that.
