Do any of you guys use camping cots. Do you have any comments good or bad on any models or brands. I need one for the May 24th weekend. Last year it snowed the first three days where we are going. I was told to stay away from the air mattress type as when the air is cold they become like sleeping on an ice cube. Comfort is a priority as it is a week long trip. What are your thoughts.

I agree with Ohio fisherman a paddle on a larger boat is useless. I carry a push pole and a spare anchor. You don't need a paddle if you have 2 anchors with at least 100 of rope. Don't forget in larger bodies of water you need that length of rope to anchor steadily in the waves. I think the rule is 7-1 for overnight and 5-1 for general anchoring.

Cuba is a spot I would love to get to some day, mostly for the fishing.

Looks like a good time. Are all sharks caught kept or can they be landed and released. Just curious.

I find the bacon rapped recipe is more like an appetizer. I make a bunch up along with some more traditionally cooked fillets.

Definitely a spare plug as Slowpoke has mentioned and I always carry 2 anchors for still fishing. I can't remember if it was mentioned but a good first aid kit. Polarized glasses are another must.

Tomcat, the bacon seems to get crisp and protect the fish from drying out.

The recipe addicted to fishin gave is the one I was talking about with a couple of changes. I like the new Kraft brown sugar BBQ sauce and once the bacon is crisp apply the sauce and leave on barbecue for a couple minutes just to caramelize the sauce. Warning they are addictive.

I agree with the seized wheel idea. Some guys will say that almost all tractor trailers are oil hubs, but I still prefer grease especially on a boat trailer, I believe they have less chance of contaminating our waters. If all is perfect the oil filled should be fine but we don't live in a perfect world.

The one on the BBQ with bacon is great, tried it last year for the first time. I just can't remember now how exactly to do it but some one here will be able to tell you.

Just about every tackle shop I have been in lately has copies of last years regs on hand so new fisherman or not they are available if you take the time to look for them.

I agree with Roy, I like the pro Z but your sponsor will say pro X.

The mnr has said they will publicly announce (newspapers etc.) when the new regs are available.

I have not been down but as far as I know he will not be there. Last time I talked to him he said the price of space and all the hassle just couldn't be justified any more, and I can't blame him. The prices I seen for floor space at these shows is crazy.

Did any one else catch the meteor in the sky around 8pm last night. I went outside at work with a couple of friends to chat while they had a smoke and we got to see the brightest and lowest meteor that I have ever seen. Probably the first time I was ever glad some one smoked.

I am looking for a small fillet knife. I already have a long knife as well as an electric and would like to buy a short 6 or 7 inch knife to do fine work. I am looking for a very good quality knife to last me. Any suggestions.

Gary, can't agree more about Gander Mountain. I was heading to Port Huron and new I wanted a set of Offshore planer boards with tattle tale flag kits and upgrade clips so I called them they had some of it but not all. They called another store and had it sent up to them for the weekend when I got there. Didn't even ask for a credit card number, just took my word that I would pick them up knowing all the time I was from Canada. Seemed like fantastic service to me.
