  1. I second the watch for rocks in the area. My father in law is up on the main channel right now and is seeing a fair number of larger fish of all species. This year water levels were a little lower and warmer which made for some tougher fishing on the main channel. I am headed for the upper channel this morning and will let you know how I make out.
  2. You can use one primer bulb before your "T" and then use a 3 way selector/shut off valve. This is the set up recommended by my dealer when I bought the kicker and I have ran my 115 and 8 hp Yamaha's this way now for 5 years and have had no issues. The valve is more expensive than a "T" but IMO a better way to go. It stops the issue of one motor drawing fuel from the other line and causing possible vapor lock. I bought mine at Bass Pro but you should be able to get them just about any where.
  3. I was thinking it may be but have never caught one so I thought better to ask the experts here. Thanks guys.
  4. My father in law caught this fish last week in the French river just wondering if some one can help identify it.
  5. Rob from Extreme Marine has joined in with pier 74 in Nilestown. Rob is a good guy and has always treated me right.
  6. I recommend finding a policy that insures all year long.
  7. Lew I agree with fishnautographs, just put a normal free ad in. I have sold a ton of stuff on Kijiji it is a great site. To answer your questions a friend has a small business and uses their paid advertisement and has never had any problem.
  8. Thanks again guys for all the options.
  9. I finally sat my parents down and hammered out a decision. My dad is not big on flying so we are going to look for a drive to American plan lodge. We are going to look at a trip of roughly two weeks, one week at the lodge and 2 or so days travel each way. I am in London so I think this can get me into some very good fishing in North Western Ontario. Do you have any recommendations for lodges that would fit the bill? I want to keep everyone interested with decent numbers and again the chance of large pike for my fathers personal best would be great. Thanks again. Mike
  10. I am not an electrician but this is the little that I know about it. A lot of old electricians will tell you that knob and tube was one of the safest systems out there due to the fact that the hot and neutral wires run completely separate from each other until the last few feet before a switch or plug. That being said two years ago my insurance company did an evaluation of my home and wanted to recommend changes (house is 150 years old). The knob and tube was high on the hit list. At the time it was just a recommendation but was told from my agent a lot of insurers were jacking up rates or refusing to insure homes with major issues. The outer coating on some of this old wiring can become very dry and brittle and flake off easily if disturbed. Hope this helps.
  11. Just a note if your thinking of taping a key near the switch and using a non chipped key, if a thief tries to steal your vehicle you are making his life a lot easier by bypassing the anti-theft device. Also as was already stated this wont work on all systems.
  12. I had the walleye batteries in my boat that Lew recommended they lived very well.
  13. Check out the Lowrance units, I bought one two or three years ago and it works great. I agree with fisherman when on small bodies of water I use my 3 foot antenna but most of the time and always when I am on the big lake I have my 8 foot on.
  14. Cliff I also have Explornet and always call there 1-800 number when I need anything and have had great service.Check closely if changing providers to get away from the fair use policy, I have heard a lot of providers are looking at this. It is meant to target the people streaming movies etc. where they are tying up large amounts of bandwidth for extended periods. I also got an email about this from explornet and when I called was told it is not in affect on my system. One last thing, explornet has a new much improved VOIP product that I hear is much better than the old system. I am looking at getting when and giving it a try.
  15. Thanks Roy. My neighbour is 43rd right now. Hope he does well.
  16. Do you have a link to the results? I am pretty sure my neighbor is down there as well. Josh got him into the tourneys and he loves it now.
  17. Gerrit Cooper makes some very good tires, especially when comparing them along side the premier brands. I have always felt that the Michelin LTX was the best light truck tire ever made and still believe that but they come with a very heavy price tag as well. I run the LTX on my truck but mostly because the wife works for a tire company and I got a great deal. I have put Coopers on a lot of my families vehicles and have not regretted one yet.
  18. Doctrt if you are going GMC I would suggest you stay with the 5.3 or the 6.0. The 4.8 has had a few issues from what I have heard but my reasons are more based on resale. The vast majority of people looking for a GM 4*4 are looking for the 5.3. In 2009 when I bought mine the fuel economy was almost the same on the two. I have heard that the new 6.0 engine is great.
  19. I drive an 09 Silverado crew and love it. So far no problems at all. Fuel mileage is good for a truck and it has lots of power for what I need. Comfort and options are not sacrificed at all. You wont be disappointed.
  20. Corvette1 I noticed on the Luenbergers site you need to provide your own life jacket and boat safety kit. This seems very odd on a fly in.Did you have to supply these items?
  21. Really glad to see this thread. I may look at them for my next pair. I bought Bluewater optics 3 or 4 years ago and love the glasses but the style I bought do not fit my wide head very well. Over the years the lenses broke where they attach to the frames( these are the partial frame type and the lens is screwed to the frame).I found the contact info for my area rep and called him, explaining what happened and asked if I could buy new lenses for this pair. My thought was to get new lenses and give the glasses to my son and purchase another set better suited to my fat head for myself from Bluewater. He told me he may be able to get new lenses and that he would discount a new pair for me. I replied that that was not necessary and agreed to take the old glasses for him to pick up from my local tackle shop that is in his region ( that he told me he needed to visit soon any ways). I delivered the glasses and gave a follow up call to let him know they were there. All was great up to this point. It has been about 4 months since and he has never shown up to the tackle shop. I can see forgetting about my glasses but what kind of service is the shop recieving. Makes me think I should scrap the glasses and look at a new brand. To me good customer service goes a long way. Just to be fair I have not dealt with the company themselves yet just the regional rep.
  22. Thanks for all the great info guys. I have some deciding to do.
  23. I want to take my dad, mom wife and son on a fly in in 2012. I remember seeing one that flew out of Goderich Ontario for a week each year but can't seem to find it now. Also if any one has any suggestions I would love to hear them. I am looking for Pike and pickerel mostly but extra species are a plus. I want American plan with a good reputation for food and service. It can be fly in or drive to. I am leaning toward staying in Ontario just to keep the costs down. I am planning for something around $2000 per person for 5-7 days. Any help you guys can give is greatly appreciated.
  24. Those ponds and small streams are all a mink will need to make him check out the area. Also the mink will be larger than most weasels.
  25. I agree Wayne, there have been two or three guys on the news stating that their car accelerates when the cruise is engaged and the floor mat has been removed, so I think they have a deeper issue or maybe a third issue. As for the original post, you can be sure Toyota will try to deal with their own branded products and a vehicle branded under another manufacturers label will be slightly less of an priority.
