  1. Hey Mikey - better introduce yourself, inquiring minds wanna know! Make yourself a new post saying hi. I got razzed about it when I first started posting and it turned into a lot of fun. Michael
  2. Only info is what I can see from shore lately. Never got my tinny out this year at all and not looking like I'll get any hardwater time unless things change drastically. I did see one chap walking around the entire west side and there are reports on another board. I ain't gonna be the one to say go or no - we all know how to judge for ourselves. I really don't like the look of what I see out front so I think I'll just stay in the warm and see what develops. If I ever DO get out and come up with something you can bet I will be bragging about it! Michael
  3. Luremaking.com is a good place to order, if you know your specs try Brafasco or Fastenal. Michael
  4. BE CAUTIOUS!!! They've taken a couple logs out of the dam to lower the lake level - it's gone down almost 2 feet since christmas. I'm on the north shore in a little cove - the ice surface right in front of me is showing several cracks with water welling up. It's seeming somewhat better further out but only that I can see from shore - I ain't going out there for a bit yet. Michael
  5. You may have just solved the complaint I've seen the most! If everyone did the free on line address set-up first then went to get a license - it may just work like it should! Michael
  6. Big plastic mixing bowl from the dollar store or cut the bottom off a big pail and a bungee cord? Probably be able to make 20 for the price of an o.e.m. Michael
  7. Article was very brief but at the time I read it there were about 2 dozen comments ripping the rider to shreds. Rider & rescuers all ok was all the report basically said. Michael
  8. Just read about one going thru the ice on Trout Lake (North Bay) last night at 11:30, 1" of ice where he dropped in. Michael
  9. Bluegill - you wouldn't mean a system that might break the effort up throughout the year would you? I dunno - lemme take a stab at this - something like divide the population by 12, maybe triggered by the month of their birthday or some such STUPID idea like that, thus also allowing a full 12 months of fishing for each year paid for? Would such a system involve making life easier for all and spreading the demand across a full year instead of a single holiday laden period? But WHERE would one find a working model or two to base such a system on to save creating one from scratch? But I guess having to get my fishing license, car license plate sticker and driver's license renewals in the same month that ISN'T December just wouldn't make a whole lot of sense now would it? ( at MNR, not at Bluegill) Wanna bet that the current system gets replaced by something similar to auto licensing in the next couple years? Michael
  10. Ummmm....I'd really be going out on a long, long limb on this one but- I'm guessing the papers arrived/got discovered after everything closed for the holidays (lawyers ya know!) and he was hoping to find some sort of positive and assuring answer before they reopen Tuesday Michael
  11. Ice is there but looks like a few areas opened up overnight. I'm on the north shore so I can't see the other end too clearly and haven't been out (not in a hurry for a polar bear dip!) Let us know what transpires - from what you've said I can only guess but the fact is you were their "insured" at the time and they are required by legislation (as you are to pay the premiums for the coverage etc.) to act on your behalf, that's what insurance is for. I believe you'll find they are (as they have to) just attempting to minimize the impact to themselves or possibly even determine IF there's fraud on the other side. There are just too many variables to guess at so, as the wisest man I ever met once said - get the facts FIRST - then figure if you got any worries! Michael
  12. Relax Gerritt. It means your insurance company is defending a claim against them arising from the accident and need your input - that part is standard. They need to know if they should take it to court or settle which is what you are ultimately paying them for. If it will make you feel better to do so consult a lawyer to hear what may transpire. If the forty-eleven hundred bucks a consult may cost you is an issue I believe you can still contact the Law Society of Upper Canada for a free 1/2 hour referral. On the other hand, as has been suggested, just meet with your insurance company's lawyer without offering anything until you hear more about what's happening. Your agent would be a good contact to get "general" info from as well. It sounds like the other party is looking to cash in either through need (medical) or greed (found out they could), and is within the statute of limitations or has been advised that they are. I'm almost certain there is no suit that can be brought against you personally if you are insured, hence the term "no fault" but check with your agent to be sure (they really do work on your behalf). This is really a general view, Gerritt, there are always exceptions but I really think you have nothing to worry about. Until you get more details there's not a lot that can be said. Michael
  13. To look up this word "resolution" right after I learn what "procrastination" means Michael
  14. Just in case you didn't check/try already - is it an older style vented cap and is the vent open/clear? Does the fuel flow from the tank if you disconnect the line from the tank? Michael
  15. Doncha gotta werk b4 ya take vacashun? Have fun bud!

  16. Seen quite a few posts on other boards about converted trailers of all types and they seemed quite delighted with the outcome. Also saw a unit in front of Heidi's on 11S that looked like a standard trailer with retractable wheels that was kinda neat. I'd say your only limitation would be your skills and imagination, along with whatever you'd have to drag it around with. Go for comfort I say! But do you really need the crank up/down function? Easier to just build walls up from the box & leave them up? Michael
  17. The hole's agettin deeeeeeeeeper bucko! If'n she's anippin' for a round shiny better pony up or git outta dodge, y'all been roped & tied but ain't figgered it out yet! So, will that be before or after the spring opener? I'm betting DURING! Good luck Pal! The TV's are just the beginning, want me to put in a good word with the jeweller next door to me? Michael
  18. I KNEW you'd be moving back this way! The ring would have been cheaper in the long run! Michael
  19. Hover your cursor over the "contact us" link, hold it there & read the bottom left of your screen. I don't want to type it here. Michael
  20. I believe on a transaction the seller is charged and the buyer is not, but not sure if there's charges for just having the account? Michael
  21. Paypal is NOT something to use on Kijiji - read the site recommendations and it says so. Third party pick up with Paypal is usually a scam - protect yourself and deal in cash only! Michael
  22. Hey Chad - those shack repairs involve pontoons at all?
  23. Just looked at it on Cabelas.ca - 70.00 pre-tax & shipping! I've sold quite a few discounted fly reels to guys wanting them for just that application. I thought they were ill advised at best but the customer is always right! Now that I see this I'm thinking maybe they were ahead of their time. Time to go thru my stock again and get a bunch more ready! Pretty sure you'd get the same effects & performance for a lot less money. Thanks for the tip! Michael
  24. I'm not that high tech yet but I can appreciate where it would be a cool feature. BTW Chad - I follow around and correct that fib for you - I tell them you're really watching Blue's Clues. Michael
