My boat is sitting too high in the bow.
limeyangler replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
Get a fat girlfriend to sit up front. -
I could sell you 3 acres right now…unorganized, hydro already here, well or lake pump, build you r own septic. 15 minutes from town, state of the art Hospital, Walmart, CT, Safeway, Tbay and Winnipeg only 4 hours either direction.

Finally got the boat finished...now where r dem walters?
limeyangler replied to limeyangler's topic in General Discussion
LOL…yup, I am a bit early on that lake though, they were still mostly in the 17' to 8' range. The ones that were in deeper water tended to be suspended half way up the water column. Thanks, still not done completely but the urge to fish and the fact I have an effective bilge pump trumped being patient and doing more tedious work. Next year!LOLOL. Thanks Roy, more to come. I have actually started to pay a little bit more attention to my Youtube account other than just a means to host videos, turns out I could have been making money on them for years…lol. I call it 'X-Box' fishing. lol "been there" 200 times! Sometimes its almost better to know they aint there! -
Hi all, got out for a couple of hours at William's Bay on Lac Seul before rain(and lightning) stopped play. The roads up there are like driving on tarmac almost, right upto the last 200 yards before the landing, whether you come past Silver water wheel route or the William's Creek route. The walleye bite was probably the worst I have ever had, although we met plenty at the landing that had no trouble finding them in numbers and size. We saw lots on sonar but was difficult to get them to bite, not so with the bass. We must have caught at least twenty in almost as many minutes, definitely on the beds right up on shore....almost impossible to catch anything under 18", definitely more fun than chasing walleye with lockjaw!

Hi all, Finally got round to rebuilding and re-carpeting the floors and casting deck on my old tinny, had to rebuild the trolling motor mount too. Also banged in around a thousand rivets and re-varnished the bench seats while i was at it. Took 2 weeks of farting around and 200 trips to Canadian Tire, but finally got her done and hit a smallish lake 5 minutes from town for some walleye fun on Saturday morning. Worked out perfectly for the fish fry that afternoon at our place, and the boat hardly leaks at all now!

That is an interesting method. I used a 11 foot light spin rod for casting big slip bobbers when ocean fishing for mackerel. Like you said, good for getting and con trolling long casts. Yeah, it was extra good cause the guy with me is my fishing buddy of old and gads moved back to the area after 3 years away. LOL…yeah, the videos are getting longer and longer. Its just starting to grow up, a bit like me…lol. The crappie up here are really prominent species now, lots of lakes with big populations, can't wait till they migrate to my shore.

Thanks for all the replies gals and guys! I am lucky to have buddies with boats who are willing to take me out, my boat has been a labor of love this year, still not ready to go, maybe tonight just round the bay, nothing wrong with it, just maintenance. I see you hit the jackpot with the Dore the other day too! Thanks Pump, liking your youtube videos BTW. Thanks, yup life is pretty good up here, still stress as everywhere else but I'd rather stress here than in TO! Thanks Newhips, anytime you do come up and need info or whatever, be sure to message me:) YUP, for sure, and having it all on video means I got these memories even when I go senile, if only I can remember where my house is when that happens….lololol. Sure is Joey, after the spring though they are nearly impossible to find!

Hi all, I still haven't got my boat in the water yet, waiting for some boat carpet to arrive. But I have a good buddy with a new boat who has taken me out a couple of times. We headed out on my home lake to get some crappie and were not disappointed. All up shallow, hitting live and plastic baits. Got into some hammer handle pike too which were infesting the crappie areas and even trying to take crappie we were reeling in. We tried for bass too, Vibrax spinner in fire tiger was very effective.

Hi all, Went back to one of my favourite shore spots for a morning stroll with walleye on my mind. Was kind of also making a comparison video for the video I made last year at the same place. Very different couple of hours from last year, but always fun with my partner and fish hound Roloff, and of course plenty of fish and wildlife to enjoy.

Thanks bud, was worried work would put a dampener on things, was happily wrong about that! Now is the time to buy! Plenty around on the market. Thanks man! The dog is living the life for sure! Yes they is! Thanks Bunk! I used my Canon point and shoot, its an old one I got second hand on Ebay. Takes wicked good sunrise and sunset shots on the underwater setting and then some touch up with contrast and exposure in OS X. Thanks, not bad for off the lawn.

thinking of buying a gopro?....might want to wait NF
limeyangler replied to bow slayer's topic in General Discussion
I am going to give it a try. A bit risky, but worth it to me. As I understand it the battery is not changeable because of weight. Ideal? No, does it mean unworkable? Not for me. The way I see it is that whenever I make a video it is a combination of shots edited together. Even when I record all day on my gopro and place all my clips into my editing suite it rarely totals more than 20 minutes. The aerial shots will makeup afraction of the finished film, it will just mean the loose 'story board' i have in my mind before I start taking clips will become more focused and detailed as Iwork this new perspective into the project, 20 Minutes should be more than enough for oneofmyvideos with pre planning a number of shots. -
tell him get well from me Rick.

Come on Rick…you know how that goes….lol.

Big Fish using Simple Methods - May 17th, 2015
limeyangler replied to Steve's topic in General Discussion
Very nice Steve. As soon as I read the title I wanted to read. I don't have all the toys…lol…one day maybe(hopefully)….but I love a simple rig over complicated set ups, the lighter the tackle the better also for me. Great post, nice fish. That 50 yamaha I would kill for -
Thanks Joey! Not bad for a 4 year old , second hand point and shoot off of ebay?
-
Thanks JDS! LOL….I know, its not cool…but sometimes I can't help myself. That sucks Rick, sure you will make up for it though, and you have Lilybugs will look after you! Thanks man, it turned out better than I thought for sure…what with work that day and all.

Yeah I was glad to get to work that morning.

Hi all, Well as usual I was working the morning of walleye opener, but luckily I live on a great walleye lake so I snuck down the front lawn at daybreak and cast for a couple hors before work. When I got back from work I did the same thing for a couple of hours and was again rewarded with some solid fishing. All the fish were spawned out. Kept 4 for some food and released a bunch. Fish were as deep as 9 feet and as shallow as 1 foot. Slip bobber the most effective method by far, bait medium minnows. VIDEO
