Hi all, managed to get down to Eagle lake again, seems the walleye have started to show more consistently ( ok Benbeattie....some of us dont have the magic touch ), hoping they come to my bay for spring as they did 2 years ago....anyway........went with my buddy Matt...... PICKED MATT UP ABOUT 4pm WE DRILLED A LOT OF HOLES FROM 28' to 12', I GOT THE FIRST RESPECTABLE FISH AFTER NOT MUCH LUCK FOR 3 HOURS MATT GOT A NICE 19", BUT IN THE SLOT SO BACK IT WENT....YOUR CHICKENS COULD BE IN TROUBLE MATT! MATT GOT ANOTHER SMALLISH KEEPER AND I ADDED THIS TO OUR FEED. BEST PICTURE OF THE DAY GOES TO BABY LIMEY THOUGH

Awesome fish JT, great report too....if i was fishing for those the description of the bait/tactics would be very helpful. Cant believe you guys are already in boats...lol. Forget that tourney sign again and there will be hell to pay....lol. Good stuff, now get to the tribs with your tourney sign.

Made up for ya, buying new is a real buzz, very nice looking truck! I enjoyed watching your posts, seem to remember you starting off with a used 2wd canyon, boy....you moved up the food chain to a real beast. Congrats on the new ride.

YUP, like i said that was the plan, thanks to your report you confirmed what i already thought about that lake....this year was a bit messy in terms of a plan......with the snowmachine sagas and baby best laid plans went a bit off track....dont think i will even manage to get to Big Sandy again this year.....oh well ....always next year. Well, it feels a bit ominous to be well remembered by an employee of the enforcement establishment....lol....but i'm good at the regs so not gonna sweat too much....lol. And dont you dare drive past my house again on the way to Manitou without letting me know again...lol
-
As per usual....AWESOME! Nice looking ling, nice and fat! I recognise that Tulibee dead bait i think , I also think i recognise your buddy Rob....does he wear green jeans at his place of employment......kinda looks like someone i met at a road block....lol. Those trout are awesome too, cant believe i never got into Upper Manitou this year....what with it being 1/2 an hour from my door to the ice. It was my intended main target lake this season, but could not get anyone to show me in there, or to join me....everyone i fish with round here wants to target walleye...all the damn time!!!! drives me nuts.....lol. Great report Ben, jury still out on your new mooostachio

New to the Forums, question about portable Fish Finders
limeyangler replied to digitalkreation's topic in General Discussion
Hi digitalkreation, welcome to the forum. I own an x67c....its an awesome piece of gear, i use it on the boat in the summer, and on the ice in the winter. I was also looking at getting the M68c or the LMS 522 because of intergrated gps, but it was suggested to buy the unit without the integrated GPS and to get a seperate handheld gps , that way i could use the gps in the car, on the snowmobile, in the truck finding small lakes.....ON A MOUNTAIN BIKE ....know what i mean? -
Lol...yup...and got inspected on the ice too, as you know i have a spare rod with me always, but never have 3 lines down, the CO that approached me on the ice says "i just saw you reel that one up", yeah sure you did...jeeeze.....if ya wanna book me the least ya can do is not lie about it! Anyway i told him straight...."no you did not" and taht was that, until the road block on the way out, at least 4 or 5 trucks ahead of me, then the guy went through my gear, checked my fish, decent enough guy....just doing what 'we' pay them too.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGLY GREAT NEWS........WTG JB AND LJ I kinda like the scoop shot too...its my current desktop background...my wife thinks i'm weird...but she's always thought that....lol. Thanks Solo, now stop worrying about my 4 tiny walleye and go make me green with envy with another one of your 'EPIC' stell reports! Looks like the scoop shot is popular...goosd job the fishing was slow....lol, i certainly hope young jack likes eating fish.....even more so...i hope he likes fishing with dad. Your right, i'm being lazy with the videos lately...i'll improve on that the next time i go. BTW...lovin your recent reports with your daughter, makes me smile every time i see those pics, you guys have exactly the same smile! Nothing like the 'EDIT' function eh twilight? Thanks for restoring my son's dignity and gender identity Roy We are loving how little he is right now...sooo darned cute.....but also looking forward to all the rest to come....someone already bought him a disney 'Cars" fishing rod....so he's set to go! LOL...as you can tell folks i just figured out how to reply with multi quotes.....

They are an awesome sight aren't they. I have some nesting in the back yard here.....i love watching the fights between them and the crows.
-
Great looking fish that, i'm gonna have to try this 'steelheading' lark one day.
-
Fresh air is good too, i'm not complaining.....well....maybe whining a bit.....lol.....but i get spoiled up here too often so i lose perspective every now and then. Hey Bushart, i remember you telling me this before, was gonna give it a go this year, but my snowmachine is out of action. Might be good to go in the truck with the recent melt, hardly any snow out there now. My buddy Lew lives by Mud Bay on the the West Arm....just round the corner the other way from our place, he says that is an awesome spot before ice out. Thanks for the info...if i get a chance i'll be out there....must only be about 2 weeks before they start to move in to those spawning areas. I was at Bear Narrows/ Osbourne Bay near the boat landing for Century Lodge Camp. The ice away from the bridge is still at least 24-30 inches, plenty of trucks out there that day. But i dont think the ice wll still be there on May 10th like last year, we have been above 0 Degrees C here for nearly a week straight it seems, during the day anyway. just for you twilight...........

Hi all, Well between all the diaper changing, crying (luckily i dont have to feed....my breasts aren't big enough apparently) and staring at our baby for hours....i headed out for a couplke of hours on Eagle lake....the snowmobile is up the creek at the moment so its an easy access point, close to home. I know i live on a lake....but Wabigoon sucks at the moment.....has done all winter. I was hoping with the big melt we had, and warm weather , the walleye might have been stirred into action............. GOT SET UP ABOUT 3:30 PM, GOT A PERCH RIGHT AWAY IN 20 FOW...about 10" HAD TO WAIT ABOUT 2 HOURS FOR THE NEXT BITE WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE A SMALL WALLEYE AFTER ABOUT ANOTHER HOUR....ONE MORE SMALL PERCH AN HOUR AFTER THAT A BETTER 15" SAUGER SUN STARTED TO SET....STILL ONLY 2 FISH FOR SUPPER THE BITE WAS SOOOOO SLOW AND THE FISH SOOOOOO SMALL, WAS GETTING BORED.....lol I WAS DETERMINED TO GET 4 WALLEYE FOR SUPPER....WAS STAYING TILL THE BITTER END...SUN REALLY SINKING FAST NOW AS THE SUN DIPPED BEHIND THE HORIZON THE FISH STARTED TO APPEAR ON THE SCREEN....GOT 3 MORE IN QUICK SUCCESSION, 2ND SMALL ONE WENT BACK, ENDED WITH A 15" BERT WAS ON DUTY AS USUAL SLOW DAY, BUT GOT MY SUPPER FOR 2 AND SOME FRESH AIR.....PURRRRRFECT!
-

Hi all, My folks were over from England for the birth of our son. They came over last summer too and we discovered that my mum is quite the angler.......she loved going out in the boat, would talk to the fishies"here fishy...fishy...fishy" and swear at them when they got off " oh!.....you little bugger" she made me laugh too much....and she got some nice fish too despite it being her first time ever fishing....she was a natural and didn't even know it....lol. Anyway, on the 2nd day of their visit she asked to go for a ride on the snowmobile, and when we got back asked to go icefishing. Well the baby and sudden thaw scuppered any real chance of getting out until the very last day they were here. We did not catch a fish which was a shame....but we had a good laugh, and mum got to see what keeps her son busy when not making and looking after babies MUM WANTED ME TO TAKE THIS PIC....SCARY LADY! GETTING ON GREAT.....EAGERLY WATCHING THE FISHFINDER STARTED TO GET COLD.......UP WENT THE SHACK LOVE YOU MUM XXXXXXXXXXX
