  1. insure it and don't worry about it... it'll be insured for more than what you paid for it, so if they steal it, who cares, even better...
  2. My co-worker will be heading there for a few days... can someone let me know which lakes in the area hold bass? also what's there to do there for a family? kids are 3 and under conservation area, park, something like that so he can spend the day there with the family and keep the kids having fun/interested Any help is appreciated Thanks,
  3. Good Luck Dan... Dunville is a hard fish... people catch, but they're also the one's who put their time in there... try trolling in around 9 feet of water with fat little crankbaits.... perch, firetiger and blue/chrome colors... i've seen guys anchor really close up to the dam, 5 to 6 feet from it... and jig with jigheads/twister tails... you'll need an anchor, and stand a high chance of loosing it... fill a couple of empty bleech bottles with sand/rocks and use that to keep you there, if you have to cut the line, no big loss that way... again, good luck to you Cheers Goran
  4. you better check bylaws cause 80feet is huge... and unless you live in the country, probably not gonna happen not trying to be a knob, but i wouldn't want to see an 80ft tower in my neighbors back yard... neighbors will probably be your worst enemies/problems... Slacan sells stuff for this, you might want to check with them to see what they have/or recommend
  5. H'mm where did i hear that before remember when you wanted to buy the VW "truck" Ted, get a tranny cooler installed, no point of risking killing you car... better safe then sorry...
  6. That's what i was thinking...
  7. you can't compare a tekota with convector... tekota is 2.5 times the price of a convector, the catalina is $100 cheaper then a tekota... that's like comparing a honda accord to an s class mercedes apples to apples bud I've got tekotas, convectors and catalinas they're all good... my baitrunner is an epixor and it's caught lots of carp without any issues..
  8. I'd go with the scotty propacks if i had to do it again... I've got walker electrics on mine with dual rodholders and swivel and tilt up bases... 1 is a temp sense unit also... you don't need 2 rodholders to be honest with you... with dipsys, copper and lead core, there's no reason to run 2 off the rigger...
  9. no one wins, but i'd rather he catch more fish, and i think he's going too fast he says 2.5-2.9 i say between 1.2-1.7 granted depending on the day, and on the fish you can catch them going faster or going slower, but a general concensus for walleye is a slower presentation... Salmon on the other hand 2.2 - 2.9+
  10. I'm having a little debate here with a cousin of mine... What speed do you go when trolling for Walleye? Thanks
  11. Fish Hawk X4, Moore Subtroll or the Depth Raider (in that order) Current makes a huge difference in trolling and it will definitely increase your hook up ratio...
  12. Awesome Mike!!! and you are my hero for this one... no way would i put my finger(s) in its mouth...
  13. I guess i better start brushing my teeth then... LOL
  14. Garmin and make sure it will take a memory card... i've got a GPSMAP 76 and it's only 8mb of memory.. definitely not enough
  15. My Condolences to you and your family Wayne
  16. can you say shrinkage?
  17. Andrea and I stayed at the oakes... we did a mid-week 1 night package and it was great... got the penthouse with jacuzzi, dinner at remmington's and breakfast the next morning at applebees.... Andrea paid, i don't remember how much, but it was a good deal... this was the view from our room...
  18. Launch out of Port D, liftbridge or Bronte... that would be your best bet... try running dipsy divers
  19. I've got a power trim unit if you're interested
  20. Until you catch your first salmon trolling... then you'll never look at another river/small lake eye again I wanted to put Chet Ripley (John Candy) from The Great Outdoors Movie... but screwed up and put Uncle Buck instead... i liked it and stuck with it...
  21. I wouldn't have an issue with it... those that would are most likely problem starters anyways... lots of internet tough guys... Hero to Zero in the real world real quick...
  22. scotty electrics would be my choice... i have walker electrics rods Shimano TDR rods 8 - 8'6 for riggers 9'6 for dipsys Line counter reels - best you can afford... Convectors are a good mid-entry reel, tekotas are the best salty rod holders for dipsys dipsys can be wire, mono or braided line... Lures: Trolling Spoons, spin doctors and flies Best way to learn is to get out with someone who knows...
  23. maybe the fish you catch are so small that they aren't pulling any drag
  24. Congrats to you and your Family
