  1. for the drill coming out of center on the other end.... try using less force when drilling through, or drill half way through on 1 side, then 1/2 way through from the other side we have the same issues when drilling through steel
  2. to drill the easyout, use a carbide drill (masonary one will work fine...) as for pulling the old bolt out... you're in a bit of a pickle there.... you'll probably have to drill a hole through the bolt and die grind it out... then rethread the hole with a tap
  3. A while back gamma had a free ice line giveaway... i got my free 50yd spool and tried spooling it, knot kept breaking and i was unable to spool it... i emailed Gamma, and today i recieved a replacement 110yd spool and a Gamma Hat... Hats off to them for great customer service...
  4. Gerritt, Check out via Train... my bro shipped his intrepid to Calgary from here when he moved... I'll look into it further for ya
  5. imagine the size hole you'd need to drill...
  6. Great Job Bud... 1 little tip: Get an ultralight Rod... that "broomstick" is way to heavy for perch... you'll probably catch a lot more cause your rod doesn't look to sensitive...
  7. I got one this year... the 7" cabelas one... it has a video out on the back... Pros: you'll be able to see weeds/etc see how your bait acts see how fish respond to your jigging technique Cons it really is a hassle to set it up properly you'll also need atleast a 6" hole... they are also pretty heavy and bulky... need clear water to be able to see an extra hole in the ice need to be in a hut to see (must be dark) I'd say put the $$ in a flasher or a hut if you don't have them
  8. nice... but learn to use the macro on your camera when taking close ups... makes a huge difference, plus you'll be happier with the results... (it's the little flower button on most cameras)
  9. i had him do a prop of mine and it took 2 months, rather then the 1 week they told me... not impressed he did good work though!!
  10. better you find out in the shop, then in being stranded in the middle of the lake...
  11. My Condolences to all Brian
  12. Good Job
  13. if you're model has a zipper on the side, then it should work... the back of my fishtrap pro has one, hence it's compatible with the traplink system...
  14. Yup... In Hamilton http://www.fishingworld.ca/
  15. when you're buying, buy the best of which you're gonna buy, that way you won't have to upgrade in the future...
  16. Does anyone do any maintenance on their fishtraps/huts? respraying for waterproof, respraying for flame retardent, zippers??etc... tis the season...
  17. i believe they're new this year... so doubt anyone has fished in them... looks the same as the eastman icecube and the eskimo...
  18. i took my humminbird matrix 17 sonar out on the ice my first year... screen froze/dissappeared at -20 i believe ( no hut/no heater) now if ice fishing in -40 outside of a hut, what happens to your screen? not sure if a screen/lcd can crack due to cold weather or if it just goes blank... but flashers are basically made for ice fishing...many people like graphs for ice fishing... next is interference? the x67 is supposed to be terrible for interference from other sonars?? i don't need to tape a heat pack on the back of my marcum to make sure i get an image...
  19. Not saying it's better, if i were to do it again, i'd probably buy the cabelas lowrance 522 combo for $550 how much was your sonar wayne? probably $500+, now add an ice transducer(dual cone, if available) $100, and a battery $30,and a charger $15 and a case $20 so you're at $665 minmum, add tax... $750 and you have to put it together... case/battery/sonar... picked up my lx5 for $480 US, came to $550 CDN on the visa... that's $200 difference and it's good to go out of the box between an FL18/FL20 and an LX5, i'd still go with the LX5
  20. get a bunch of you guys together... then go and see Blake at Fishing World... He should be able to help ya out... I've got 2 s-cables for sale for the FL8 & FL18 at discount prices though...
  21. Marcum LX5 hands down... the 08's are even better, here's what the marcum tech emailed me...
  22. parachute at the end...
  23. as for genes/genepool a fish that size will also eat other musky also, so 1 monster fish potentially is hindering musky population reading a musky report a while back, there was cannibalism in muskys at 27 days old... now if they are 27 days old an eating each other, what the heck do you think a 30-35 year old one eats? probably not gobies...
  24. how big are you is the first thing the pro is much bigger... nice thing about the scout though is you don't need to retract/extend the poles... same sled i believe but in the scout you sit width wise, rather then length wise like on the pro... I like more room, mind you i'm 6'6 & 300+ factor in heater/flasher/camera/minnowbucket/cooler then decide which unit is right for you...
  25. Bummer, had to do the same thing to mine about 5 or 6 years ago... never an easy thing to do...
