  1. so in essence his price was $100 more then market value??? also goes to show you markup... doubt he'd take a loss... I understand about buying power, sadly loyalty these days means nothing... but bottom line is $$ i wish my customers had loyalty
  2. there are those who like working on boats... i am not one of them.. every boat i've ever owned (3) has been a project boat... lots of down time from fishing and doing it properly costs $$$$ stainless screws are atleast 5x more expensive... you'll need marine plywood since your boat is aluminum... again, more $$ to paint it, you need to properly prepare it, strip it down and have it sprayed, and use proper paint... otherwise it'll look like crap and will flake off... also cost of getting rid of old flooring/carpeting etc plus clean up and prep work involved... my opinion is if you have the $$ buy another boat and never regret it... just get out and fish.. summer and fishing opportunities are short enough, no reason to waste time working on a boat when you could be out fishing or relaxing...
  3. In all honesty... would you want strangers posting pictures you took on a public forum? regardless of blurred faces or not... I know i wouldn't... put up an ad on kijiji also that might help locate the owner...
  4. watch to see how close your seat post is... i've got a 65lb MK all terrain on my 16.5 legend scorpion and the seat post is too far forward... it's very tight up front to get the pedal where you want it... i'm lookin at switchin to an electric steer for that specific reason... seat height is also an issue, cause if you don't have the proper seat height, you'll get fatigue/sore very easily...
  5. humminbird will pop up also...
  6. the "safety arms" will cause cavitation and fill affect your reading... you can buy a transducer mount like that for around $50 at BPS it'll be adjustable and look prettier also
  7. i get her "pissing" on the muffs... 1975, 150HP merc
  8. blow it through with an air compressor first... regardless change the impeller on a merc if not every year, every other year... they are much smaller/weaker compared to Johnny-rudes
  9. don't own any of the above reels, but i have 4 quantum icon 20 spinning reels, great reels, great drags, great price plus magnetic bail... i've been using them for almost 7 years and no issues, never serviced any of them either... i use them year round, in the winter i put them on all my ice rods... just buy spare spools.... if i was looking at a new reel, it would be a quantum hands down!
  10. Had a friend of mine look at it (outboard motor hobbyist) and we took the carb apart, and it looked ok... cleaned it up and blew it out and it helped a bit... also played with the float level a bit can't figure out the high speed jet? screw on the bottom is to drain the float bowl... we were assuming the low speed jet is the top screw behind silencer... not sure, but can't find anything online for this carb... compression was 110/100
  11. Picked up an 87 Suzuki DT20 outboard a while back having issues with the carb... it's a mikuni carb anyone have any ideas? getting too much fuel and it's flooding the plugs and it won't idle motor has good compression
  12. They ask for your drivers licence when you're getting a ticket for no lifejackets on board... don't ask me how i know that...
  13. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOBody will return my calls... LOL Brian, atleast you can still find humor in it...
  14. We left around 3... slow day, no carp caught that i was aware of... just small bullheads... still good to get out and see the old faces again
  15. the opp was there when i forgot the lifejackets in the car... $300 later... know the rules, and play with in them... better safe then sorry...
  16. i installed firefox... not too impressed with it... had to manually do the favorites/bookmarks... didn't work on the install... not impressed also it says not connected when i open it up... dissappointed to be honest cause many rave about it the program, me i'm not impressed
  17. i used my downrigger rod before i bought my 2nd carp rod... (shimano TDR 8'6 MH) worked good... if it works on Salmon, it'll work on Carp... i'm one of those people that doesn't believe a rod makes a huge difference... rather spend the $$ on a good reel then a good rod... side note, check with FW if they still have the nexave/techniums for 50% off... those are full size carp rods though...
  18. I'm gonna try and make this one... i've got a new quiver i'm itching to try out!!
  19. propane can be switched to natural gas, but not backwards.. without new jets natural gas have bigger jets... controls are the same not advisable to be changed on a old/used bbq
  20. That's how they differentiate stocked from naturally reproduced fish...
  21. cabelas US was clearing them out a month or so ago for $50... looked on their site and they no longer even sell it...
  22. VHF, GPS and flaregun - Safety First, you only realize this after you've been stranded Stuck out of burwell 16km from shore after motor seized on the run in (8pm in the evening) called coastgaurd sarnia on the handheld, couldn't reach any other boats that were fishing cause it wasn't powerful enough Special thanks goes out to Coast Gaurd Auxillary and the rescue vessel "Mavrick" that towed us back to Port Bruce and went above and beyond the call of duty of driving my buddy back to burwell so he could get his truck/trailer get a fixed base unit... much more powerful Flaregun would have helped, 5 or 6 boats out/returning also....
  23. To get out of it.. tell them you are a racist... use a few "choice words" and then ask them if they have the death penalty here.... then go through the whole shebang of why we should, eye for an eye, justice etc... that's my plan anyways if/when the time comes...
  24. Chuck Norris can slam a revolving door
  25. I never have to worry about interference with my Marcum LX5...
