Lots of places to get your provisions in North Bay (look where I am from) Maps won't help out with the "new" shoals due to low water. Take your time and boat safely.

Casting deck...just cut a hatch in the roof. lol.

Ahhhh after seeing the last picture now I know it's not the crank baits it the GULP spray!. That awesome sunset pic shows how beautiful Nipissing is.

T.J., You can buy 2 used 6hp 2-strokes for the price of a new 6hp 4-stroke. That way you can hide them in 2 different places increasing your chances of having one at Jiggy when you show up.

Update??????

Did it add a lot of weight?

Was ice fishing in a walleye tourney last winter when a buddy caught a muskie over 20 lbs on a yellow jig and a minnow. Jig wasn't even moving. He had put down his rod and went to his other line.

What to look for when buying a used 9.9(or less) motor
Nipfisher replied to splashhopper's topic in General Discussion
I agree with Irishfield. A running 9.9 for under $300 is a good deal. Get him to run it in a pail for you and if it is pumping out good water and idles nicly then take it. If it has reverse also try it in F and R. -
I find these posts so interesting. I have fished Nipissing 1000s of times and I have a box full of crankbaits yet I have never trolled for walleye with crankbaits on Nipissing before. Live bait is so successful I always start with it. There were some nice big ones you caut and kudos to you for releasing the ones outside the slot.

Jamie, My mother was diagnosed in May 2008. She had a massectomy and all her treatments but now struggles with lymphodemea which makes her right arm and hand very swollen. She is managing now but it has been tough on her. She is a principal at an elementry school and just last week decided she would no longer wear her wig. She now has white curly hair. the students were shocked. If I told her I was gonna get a tattoo in her honour she'd live longer then I would 'cause she'd kill me. I grew up without a dad she she is my everything. I wish you and your family strength. Never let her love die. Take care captain. Blair

Great report. With all those lakes up there and such little pressure due to only fly in access those pike just keep on growing.

Looks nice. Good luck with the perch.

Great post Pikeguy. Put a smile on my face. My Grandpa is 96 and still has all his wits about him. He can remember crazy stories from way back. I have driven with him many times from Kirkland Lake to North Bay. He can tell me what species are in most of the lakes and how many he caught there. He would hunt and fish the Lady Evelyn chain every year in the 50s -60s. I'm gonna go call my Grandpa and tell him about my walleye success last night.

No Shad Flies on the water last night. I was out on Callander Bay and we managed 7 walleye. All keepers. 4 were small but these 3 were all between 14 and 15 inches. They were all caught on chartruse go-getters and worms. I had the most success when i put a small piece of power bait on my hook before the worm. We also caught a few sheepshead, rock bass and about 12 dink perch. Was sure nice to get my Starcraft out on the water. It has been sitting in my driveway taunting me since opening weekend.

No matter how far I put the truck in I just can't seem to get the boat off the trailer. lmao I got this in an e-mail.

Good deal on the boat. I picked up a 9' Quicksilver inflatable with paddles, wood floor, and transom for $100 afew weeks back. I had to drive an hour to get it but was still worth it. It is rated up to 9.9hp but I'll run it with my 1989 4hp Jonson with the integrated tank. I also bought an inflator for it that I can plug into my 4 wheeler. Deflated with the floor out it fits nicely on my back rack with the motor. Now I just have to find a secret spot.

No pics T.J. but I have seen quite a few caught back in the 1990s. There is a lake in Esker Lakes Prov. Park just east of Kirkland Lake that has Aurora Trout in it. I think the lake is only open for 2 days of the year but I have seen quite a few come out of it.

Nice to see an "over the slot" walleye. Has been the same thing again on Nip this spring keep the little wee 11 - 12 inchers and put the nice eaters back in.

Great commercial. Gave me goosebumps. Can't wait for Saturday.

For anyone fishing the North Bay area shore line the Walleye bite is on. They are hitting worms and minnows on jigs and in-line spinners (Go-getters, harnesses). The common depth is 10-15 but there are reports of success in the 5-8 depth range and 15-25 depth range.

It may be a bit of a drive but will save you alot of hassle. Regardless of where you are staying trailer your boat to a government dock. The ones at Sturgeon Falls, Calander Bay and North Bay marina are all in good shape for launching. Water is still crazy low but the launches are deep enough to get in and out quick. North Bay Marina will cost you $7-$10 but the others are free.

Those are some nice big pike. Not sure I would want to be standing in the water with all those gators. They might team up on you
-
Four mile lake has lots of little pike in it. Nothing too big but you can find the odd 3-4 pounders. I think maybe some smallmouth too. Also lots of rock bass.

I guess I can go take down the LOST posters now. They found my precious little "Cuddles".

BillM, read the post again it says 120 DOZEN minnows.
