  1. Simon, My 2 year old (today) Karter loves his "hunter orange" toque too. It is usuually his preference. Mom thinks I am a redneck when he is wearing it.
  2. And some icicles?
  3. Trev, I p.m.'d you with a kijiji add.
  4. I paid $500 cash for mine. It was one of the ones from BPS last summer when they ran out of the other Fishfinders they had advertised so they were letting these go for something like $250! I found mine here in North Bay on kijiji. The seller bought 2 of them and was trying to sell one for $700. I talked him down to $500 and he got his for free.
  5. 1st advice is common but thought I'd share it. Before you cast adjust the drag so that the lure slowly drops to the ground when the spool is free. If it is too loose and drops fast..you are gonna get some nests.
  6. Make great muskie bait.
  7. Dave, that is a classic picture. It happened in North Bay, and from what we "the public" were told was it was a officer intraining that was launching the boat.
  8. I have a 55# thrust Motor Guide on my 17' Starcraft aluminum. The unit is cable drive and barely enough power for my heavy boat. I will go with more power when I can afford it and my next trolling motor will be electric or digital steer. With the rolling waves on Nipissing it it really hard to stop the motor from swinging around while I am turning.
  9. I went to Walmart in New Liskeard today on my way North and I could not believe how good the fishing section was. They had good sales on the soft water gear but the clearance deals on the winter stuff were amazing. All the Live forage stuff was on for $2. I had the boss looking over my shoulder so I'm gonna check out the deals in North Bay.
  10. Ihave had the spooling station for about 5 years now and I bought it used.It works well. It was even used in the truck on a fishing trip to Manitoulin Island.
  11. Tape measure helps too.
  12. I grabbed 2 Suffix 50# and 10# for $30.52. Live Target frogs were regular price?
  13. Here is the latest report I can find from Blue Ice Reports at Gilford Rd. Watch at the end when the guy uses the spud bar. Also if you see the March 20th one it shows the recovery of teracked bike that went through.
  14. The dam winch gets in the way lol.
  15. Salty, O.K. if you are going to keep the bigger ones to eat them. If the idea you have is to cull the lake and remove big fish and "waste" them to allow for the smaller fish to do better then you won't get allot of support here. If the lake is full of big ones and you keep the odd one for table fare that's fishing.
  16. You know....the Carp Fairy.
  17. I understand the tradition the "regulars" have with this weekend. It is always booked for that weekend well in advance so the "yankee" crew and other from far away can plan ahead and make it. I also agree with Buster that Father's day is difficult for some to get away. I will be 40 minutes away, like last year, and I may still not make it (like last year). Father's day means more to my wife and kids then it does to me. Either way I'll plan to make a showing. If I do great..if I don't I'll still fish, enjoy a fire with friends and drink beer. Hope to see you all there, meet some members and chat with Kevin about the West Arm.
  18. Welcome to Team 2 "The best Team and current leaders". Be glad you didn't end up on Team 9. They're fishy. We are glad to have you. Captain Skeeter is your fearless leader.

  19. Oh no! The debate rages on. Tiller or console...which is better? I have a Starcraft so no comment on makes. I think console is the BEST.
  20. I registered on Facebook just for this Wayne. God help me now.
  21. Romeo, I just saw a fishing show (Fish TV I think) this weekend with special guest Owen Nolan - my absolute favourite hockey player ***as a Nordique*** and the show was filmed at Waterfalls Lodge. They were landing decent walleye in the 5 lbs. range. I know these shows are editied but the scenery was awesome and the fish caught on the show were beautiful golden walleye.
  22. Went to the C.T. store in North Bay today and at the back of one of the rows there is a small section of clearance baits. I bought 2 Husky Jerks (HJ-14 and DHJ-13) and some Mr.Twister grubs that look like leaches. total was $14.21 and I saved about $12.60! Lots of selection on the smaller rappalas but I'm not much of a bass guy. There was also some Trigger X, lots of Mr. Twister, and various baits suich as Little Cleos and some Mepps Spinners.
