  1. We'll trade you a Honda CRV and $20,000 for our draft pick back? That's was Kessel gets for being the worst all star.
  2. Yep. Lots of them at the fish markets and grocery stores.
  3. My guess is frozen mackeral Randy.
  4. No problem Jocko. There are alot of local members that I can't wait to meet. Maybe if I share my perch and walleye with you "westerly" folk you'll share your walleye and walleye with me.
  5. That makes 15 members confirmed to attend! We're just hoping for good weather and good work schedules. Duckdog has offered to pull his hut close to mine and provide me with the combination to the lock so that other OFNers can use it that day. Thnanks Duckdog.
  6. It looks like at least 13 board members will make it out if work cooperates? Randy From Sturgeon Rodcaster Nipfisher Smarty Pantz NAW LucG? Average Joe Fishing? Rides85 Spud7378 Mike01 Duckdog? Buster? Bassasin Mystery member I know of at least 6 friends of members that will also be attending. I have some fishing buddies from the Ontario Out of Doors Community that may drop in for visits. Mike01 and Spud 7378 will have portables...who else? There is plenty of room around the shack and we can use mine as H.Q. / kitchen / washroom. Mike01 said he'd bring his auger (gas?) and I'll have my Jiffy with lots of gas. In my shack I'll have my oil furnace with cook top and a 2 burner propane stove. Randy is bringing the bar-b-q. I'll have the cooking oil and Fish Crisp and a small frying pan for some on-ice fish frying. I'll make every effort to get us enough minnows for everyone. I'll collect for bait on the ice so bring a little cash. You can drive right to my hut but no sense in having a bunch of vehicles out there. So after the first group goes out at 9am I'll take a few runs to get every body there or at least your gear and you can walk out. Any questions just ask here or PM me. I'll have a bunch of extra lines and tip-ups too. Here is the long range forcast. Looks really fishable. Long Range Forcast
  7. Superbowl is a definate. I'll be heading out to the shack Friday night to make sure everything is ready. Saturday at 9am we'll meet at the launch, I'll fish until dark. Sunday me and some buddies are having a Superderb from 11 am - 3 pm (longest fish wins) then a cab from the ice to a buddies place for the game. I took Monday off so after the kids are at daycare / school I'll be back out on the ice. Considering a nearby lake for Lakers. Tuesday - Thursday will be detoxing.
  8. Man down. Would be great if you still came out for a visit. Maybe you should drive for Randy? That way he can really enjoy himself.
  9. Buster if you can make it up here, I'll make sure you have a place to fish out of. That goes for all OFNers (just not all at once).
  10. It is about time they addressed this. If you walk through some of them, the house owners on either side will yell at you to get off their property.
  11. I don't normally like big girls.......but she's pretty. Great job on the release.
  12. You are probably too shallow. Try 28-30 fow and you'll get perch steady. Walleye bite is between 8 am and 11 am and then around 3:30 - 5pm. I sent you a PM Nelson.
  13. Nick, You are asking the wrong guy as I dead stick with my tip-ups 95% of the time (hook, split shot and lively shiner). However small spoons and jigs tipped with minnow will produce.
  14. Trying to keep this current. Only 11 days away. I know you're excited Randy.
  15. I LOVE my 2004 Explorer Sportrac. Bigger box would be great but pulls everything I have (utility trailer for bike/sled, and 17' alum boat package) with ease. Great 4 wheel drive and lots of room in the back seat for my boys (booster seat and child seat) and sometimes my wife too when the dog gets shotgun lol. Now, my one complaint....It is maxed at 16" tires. You would have to lengthen the axles or put a super lift kit into it to go bigger.
  16. I'm scheduled to go to the Island this week. Maybe, I'll request a pick up at the launch.
  17. Nice job. What is the weight to them? Looks like a #4 hook?
  18. I went back out today and did a little scouting around the shack. We are in 27 fow and there is a slope going down to 30 fow to the deep side of the shack. There will be lots of room for portables. Less then 3 hours today and Perch bite was non-stop. We landed 6 (5 perch and 1 eye) and lost several on the way up. We also got stipped alot because the holes froze over instantly, and we were inside the warm shack
  19. My hut (GTG Head Quarters) is now in position. It is about a 5 minute walk from shore or you can drive right to it. There is alot of space behind the shack for portables. There is about 15" of ice under us and we are in 26.7 feet of water. Neighboring shacks today caught up to 30 perch and there were a few walleye caught. It is tough fishing with the blistering cold wind and high pressure. If the weather cooperates for us on the 5th, so will the fish.
  20. Way to go Nick. Is that a Bravo "Trapper". Nice light sled that isn't fast but works hard.
  21. I PM'd some hotel info. to NAW and figured it should get posted here in case another board member is looking for accomodations. The closest hotel is Terrace Suites but that is alot of cash. Next closest is Pinewood Park (Clarion Resort) but it is expensive too. The closest cheaper hotel is the "peeler" Bar Moe-ze-on Inn (705) 494-4915. My suggestion is one of these two places. Arizona Motel 705-472-0800 1078 Lakeshore Drive North Bay, ON http://www.arizonamotelnorthbay.com/ or The Lincoln Motel 705-472-3231 594 Lakeshore Drive North Bay, ON. http://www.lincolnmotel.net/ Both are less than 10 minutes from where we will be fishing and are affordable and comfortable.
  22. I have also invited Jocko, and we have a "mystery" member confirmed who does not wish to give out their identity yet. I still think we will end up with somewhere around 20 participants. Lots of hot dogs!
  23. I'll ask again...lets get some grub organized.
  24. Thinking we are gonna have 20 people participating in this gtg. Who's bringing hot dogs, buns, condiments, etc?
  25. get into the CHAT tonight. I always look forward to Tuesday nights.
