  1. Is that mainly for comfort?
  2. I use a Currado 300DSV for casting and a Calcutta 400 for trolling (can cast too). They are (were) pricey to buy but you can find them used for a decent price.
  3. Ya I checked eBay and some other on-line sites. With shipping and broker fees it will cost the same. I may be best to buy locally at Can Tire or North Bay Outfitters or Lefebvre's Souurce for Sports. That way if I have issues it is easier to bring back.
  4. I looked at the Mustang and Onyx ones at Canadian Tire yesterday. The manual ones from Mustang were $179 and the automatic ones were $199. Onyx had a manual one for $139. Anyone know of any deals? I am limited to on-line shopping from North Bay as we don't have many/any big box places.
  5. They also sell the electric winches at Can Tire and Princess Auto that are quite cheap. They have remotes and you could just push a button to bring in the boards
  6. I was in Can Tire here in North Bay yesterday and they are going all out with expanding their fishing and hunting departments. There were several blue boxes filled with clearence lures and assorted tackle as they are making room for new mechandise.
  7. Colognes, perfumes, scented air fresheners, etc. Latex gloves, balloons, etc. Food. Pollen, grass, etc. Lots of alergens apart from airborne.
  8. How about a winch from a boat trailer? They also sell the electric winches at Can Tire and Princess Auto that are quite cheap. They have remotes and you could just push a button to bring in the boards.
  9. My suggestion would be to find a company that specializes in Mould removal. I imagine they would do other alergens as well.
  10. Anybody?
  11. That is pretty scientific.
  12. HUGE. Looks pre-historic.
  13. It is the consistancy of candle wax. Don't think it is decomposed minnows. The dog wouldn't eat it so it can't taste good at all.
  14. After reading Slyingm's thread about getting his "fishing machine" ready for this season I decided to have a good look at my "beater". My livewell and baitwell are filled by a Rule pump. It is a 360 GPH and is the 1st model shown in this link. Rule Pump I tried to separtae the top red part from the white (mounted part but couldn't. Is there a trick to it? Maybe the pump is too small for my 17' boat? I cleaned it up and pushed water through it with the hose from both sides. My guess is it is about 4 years old and certainly had never been cleaned or serviced. Also the way my Starcraft is designed it is a very small opening in the rear deck to access that area. It may be too difficult to get at it properly. If it aint broke don't mess with it?
  15. Last season I noticed my baitwell was not draining as it should. Livewell was good but not the baitwell. As they both drain out the same hole in the transom I figgured the line was blocked. I tried to feed a wire through and it made some improvement but was still slow. Yesterday while preping the boat I removed the hose clamp and checked the hose. This is what I found It is a waxy-like substance. It was about 3" long and prettty much filed the hose. Any idea what would cause this? It broke apart as I dug it out of the hose with a screwdriver. Here are 2 more pictures (taken with cell phone). It was not slipperly like soap and of course it smelled like fish.
  16. These are some fiddle heads I found right here in the city. Just along the creek. They were delicious.
  17. I have also never used one for more than a few casts. Never needed to as the pike and bass are usually willing to cooperate on Rapalas and crank-baits.
  18. I can't understand why Zone 11 has a closed pike season????? I understand closing Nipissing to all species but why not open pike in the other lakes? I'm not a trout guy so all I have open to me is perch.
  19. Randy, There is one camp at the far end just before the narrows.
  20. No lodges, cabins or boat rentals on Wickstead.
  21. PM me if you want other options.
  22. If you want fish, decent cabins and boat rentals try one of the many places on Lake Nosbonsing. You WILL catch fish. Pike, Perch, SM Bass, walleye, and Muskie. Here is one but there are lots more. Birch Hill Camp
  23. Get whatever you need to get a decent muskie captain.
