  1. Too funny! I'd say that one goes to your wife (with an assist to you). Nice fish, chunky and golden!
  2. Might be a few of us out for that one. Good luck!
  3. If I remember correctly, Bill M has one as well, and, highly recommended it when I was searching for one a little while back. Still haven't purchased one, this is "mighty tempting"!!
  4. More of a "combo". The crayfish in the first pic is actually bigger and was in a perch that measured 10".
  5. Couple of hungry Erie perch ate these crayfish. Expect to see them in bass, but, was surprised to find them in perch!
  6. Way to go, Steve and Don!!! Great that you can get out there and fish "tournies" with the old man, Steve!
  7. Leaving soon, to do the same. Looking forward to a fresh perch dinner tonight!!
  8. Nicely done, Ryan!! Those St. Clair muskies have some different markings on them. You almost nailed a 50" on your first one
  9. LOL...can't wait to give those BIG GOLDEN MAMMA's a shot through the ice again this year, not too mention some of those Simcoe lakers!!!!
  10. One per angler for most of the Bay...two once you go past the Glenora Ferry.
  11. Thanks, for the replies guys...the voice of reason has won out on this one. Also had some very good advice from Spincast (THANKS RICK!!!!!!!). After doing a bit of research into this boat, it isn't quite what I'm looking for. Not wide enough, I would basically just be gaining a couple of feet in length. Thanks for the input. By the way if anyone is looking, the boat is at Macdonald Marine in Turkey Point...a 2002 Lowe Sea Nymph 16 fter for $6900. Comes with the motor stated in my post's title + bow mount trolling motor, GPS fishfinder, dual batteries and trailer. I wasn't too impressed that they wouldn't grant a sea-test/trial.
  12. Great post, sounds like quite the adventure.
  13. Just to let you guys know, my current boat has a 15 hp 4 stroke. So I'm used to it, was wondering if the oil injected 2 strokes smoke as badly as the older models? Thanks,
  14. Okay, guys/gals...I've been considering moving up to a bigger boat with a side console/electric start, etc. Found one I'm interested in, but, it has the motor in my title. I'd love to have a 4 stroke, but, want some opinions on the oil injected 2 strokes. Should I stay away from it, and, wait for a 4 stroke deal to come along, or, check it out...less weight, etc. The motor is still only eight years old, not a spring chicken but not a dinosaur either. Thanks in advance, thinking of looking at this package on the weekend.
  15. Just checked this one out...definitely could be dangerous to the health of my bank account!
  16. Just made my first purchase from LandBigFish...some Cavitron buzz baits. No extra fees, and arrived in decent time...also a good tracking system for your order.
  17. Browning Six Rivers, decent rod under $100...I have a 10 1/2 ft that I use for bottom bouncing fast rivers or tossing spinners. Also picked up a Berkley Tactix for the better half for her first steelhead rod for a great price at Angling Outfitters last year, came recommended by Jos as a decent rod for the price. Couple suggestions, anyways. Look for sensitivity and a bit of back bone (if you want to toss spinners). Good luck!!
  18. Great little post, and still a good story for Kaleb when he gets older. He may just have the "fishing gods" on his side hooking a trout right off the bat at the age of 2
  19. BEAUTIFUL!!!! Very entertaining post, thanks!
  20. Yes that will change your presentation and depth, but, this was all about distance...Garry's suggestion is an easy way IF you are going to use the same method. The other suggestion will work for all applications, so both are valid. If I were to utilize this strategy I would mark off the point for my most used line amount (a la Garry) for simplicity, but, use the other method for other applications. Or just go out and buy a line counter reel
  21. LOL, very entertaining read...only way it would have been better is if I was munching on some of those perch fillets while reading
