  1. Amazing couple of videos!
  2. Here's the conversion... 1 U.S. Gallon = 0.83267 Canadian (Imperial) Gallons 1 Can Gallon = 1.201 U.S. Gallons So, 40 US Gallons = 33.3 Canadian Gallons.
  3. Bly and I, like many others here I'm sure, love float fishing for Steelhead, but are not crazy about the weekend crowds. Especially now that the weather is warming up. Anyhow, one way to beat those crowds is to fish at night. Most times we try we get skunked, or catch just one between the two of us. Sure it's a bit more difficult, the numbers usually aren't the same as fishing during the day...but sometimes...you just have a great night....and earlier this past week, Bly and I had that night! We arrived at the creek after sunset and started drifting. The waters were a bit higher and faster than normal...which usually isn't good, but the visibility was great. The first 45 minutes got us nothing...not a hit...not a sniff! Suddenly the fish began to run. We could hear them coming up the rapids just below the pool we were fishing. A slight adjustment to our setups and all meyhem broke loose! Bly caught the first one...a great 30 inch one for Team 1...We affectionately call this "the Solopaddler pose" Very soon after that, she landed her second... A few missed hits...I lost a few big ones after some long fights....but I finally got a nice one. They just kept on coming...more fish running upstream.... As quickly as the bite turned on, it turned off. Bly went 5 for 6 and I was 3 for 5...a few that were lost were some pretty big fish!! What an amazing few hours on the tribs...a great way to end a day. We'll let the weekend warriors walk the banks today...while we get set for a birthday party....our little one turned 7 earlier this week, and her friends are coming over later. Before we left for the evening, she said "Good fishing luck mommy and daddy"....we're convinced she brought us that luck!! Here's a pic from her birthday...
  4. Started out using a vest, but could never remember what pocket I put stuff in....LOL. Got a nice chest pack that works great for me.
  5. Sounds like you guys had a great time out there! Congrats on all getting together and catching some nice fish!
  6. I like the nylon idea...I'd likely wear it for more of the year (layer up underneath in cooler weather), while the fleece is good for early spring or fall. I also prefer the darker colours...mainly because when dirt gets on it, it hides it better and I don't have to have it washed all the time. Glad you're getting them back...been wanting to buy an OFC jacket!
  7. WOO HOO!! Great looking new ride! Congrats guys.
  8. LOL...love the boat launch bozo series. Cant wait for the next one....as long as I'm not the subject!!! Great report and some nice fish too!!

  11. I KNOW that's a photoshopped picture.... I'd never paint my nails red.........
  12. Great report Mike! When I have an opportunity to fish waters where I cant spit from one bank to the other, it's a real treat! Great photos as usual! Meeting up with another OFNer is never a waste of time...looks like you still had a great day!
  13. I was out barbecuing dinner...and my daughter was so excited to see a robin...goodbye winter of 08-09!!!
  14. Hey now!!! I caught more fish than Bly did tonite!!! Here's a picture of the smaller of the two. The BIIIG one was about 3 inches longer!!!
  15. Grant...I have no control at home. Any control I 'think' I have is merely a mirage. Thanks all for saying I'm a good hubby/dad for staying at home with the little one....but before you make any judgements, I'm heading out there late afternoon today, with Bly staying at home....LOL.
  16. I use the Pflueger Trion spinning reel and have never had any issues with it. It's inexpensive and has lasted me two years of fighting steelhead in the tribs, huge fall walleye and kawartha muskies! This reel has been dropped in the water, had mud and sand all over and in it....just clean it once a year and it's still going strong. I agree that a good sensitive drag is key though...
  17. I don't usually get jealous.... But I am now!! To be young again, with opportunities like that!
  18. Wow Rick...very sorry to hear this news...
  19. Great stuff MJL! Awesome looking chrome! I have a feeling that if you didn't even have pinkies, you'd be finding some brush that looked like bugs to put on your hook!
  20. I'd say "Oh well...almost a perfect vacation". LOL. Kidding...I'm a huge Leaf fan...apart from no fishing report, sounds like a great vacation!
  21. I feel your pain!! LOL. Was out the last two weekends, had a few on, but landed none. Weather was perfect though...not sure I'd try ice fishing again this year though. Great report!
  22. I'll accept your apology now Snag. I'm waiting....

No centrepin yet Mike...maybe for the fall season I'll have one...then I'm comin to you for lessons!! Thanks Silvio...you've been a great help over the past seasons...with tips or encouragement. Much appreciated! Just wish I could get out more often!
  25. Hey now!! When it comes to ice fishing, skunks are the norm...LOL. Bly will have a report later tonite...she's been out hunting steel this evening! Carp season is just around the corner MJL...hope to see you out this way again this year.
