Hey Dirk... Caught with roe...chartreuse coloured bag.

Leech - Plan D...we did actually...but by the time we discussed it, hunger took over and we headed home for lunch. We spent more time driving from place to place than we did actually fishing I think! GCD - Our entry board is just fine...was already cluttered with a Lake Trout...LOL

Well, it's been a long time since Bly and I have been out fishing...and since I had the day off, and a babysitter, we decided to head out this morning. We were a little nervous of our first choice, because of waters that are slow moving and the -12C temps last night. We didn't leave the house until about 815am....later than we probably should have, but oh well... Sure enough, the first spot was mostly all frozen over, with a small 10 foot wide section available to drift...only about 100 feet long. Problem was, there were about 8 guys drifting in that spot...so back in the car for plan B. Plan B didn't turn out so well either...the waters had only about 2" of visibility but we tried it for a while anyways. After about 45 minutes of no action whatsoever, and absolutely nothing caught by anyone we talked to around us, we packed up again and came up with plan C. We arrived at location 3 to near perfect water conditions...green tinged waters with about 8" of visibility! Problem was because it was now so late in the morning, it was packed! All our favourite spots were taken, so we headed to a spot that we don't generally do all that well at...apparently no one else does either, because it was void of any anglers...LOL. About 15 minutes drifting this section and my float goes down. I set the hook and feel what I think is a snag...and then there is nothing there. Then I see that my line is too slack....wayyyyy too slack, so I started reeling like a madman...knowing that a fish was swimming directly at me! This little guy jumped a few times, trying to escape, but to no avail. So, here it is...my first fish of 2009...this scrappy little steelie....and a first entry for team inTENsity! We packed it in shortly after that, and were home for 1pm...the season has just started...cant wait to get out there again!

Way to go Kemper! Just so happen to have some monster roe bags tied...problem is I'm sure things will be completely blown tomorrow

Yep...that is precisely the reason!! Problem is I don't like ice fishing enough to go more than a few times a year....LOL.

It was a perfect morning to head out to Lake Simcoe this morning. Fishnsled had some great success last weekend, so we headed out to the same spot. I met up with FnS and his buddy at 530am, and we were on the road before 6am. We got a phone call from Headhunter... apparently he forgot something important at home, so he had to turn around and retrieve them. Anyhow, the 3 of us got to the lake to find lots of ice...no snow...so it was slip and slide all the way out to the spot. It took us about 25 minutes to walk to the exact location. On the way out, I snapped this photograph of the sunrise... As soon as we got to the spot, FnS's buddy drilled about 8 holes in 4 minutes... FnS was the first to drop a line down...and literally, within 30 seconds he had the first fish of the day on. A smallish Whitefish that went back down the hole to swim another day! After FnS had iced his fish, I had a few nice hits...and lost the battle after about a 5 second fight. At least they were biting...I was really hoping to land my first ever Whitefish...I was optimistic! Headhunter and his buddy finally arrived at the lake, and FnS gave him some directions on how to find us. "See that group of huts to the right? Don't go that way...head straight out to us". Seemed simple enough. A number of minutes goes by and we still cant see them, so we scan the horizon...they are heading to wards the group of huts to the right... They literally walked twice the distance they needed to...but at least they found us. Here's a shot of HH and his buddy setting up. FnS shows his ice fishing prowness by fighting another one. I get over there to shoot some video. It was a nice one, but got off right at the hole! FnS likes to rub it in people's faces when he's doing well, so he announces he has yet another one on! The next pics show HH getting ready to get the fish...a shot at the hole, and then the 'money shot'. Soon after that, I feel a solid hit...I set the hook...YES! A fish!!! FnS comes over to help out. I get the fish almost all the way to the top...only 3 more feet....and....gone. I suck at this....LOL. Then, it's HH's turn to catch one... Late in the morning, another one of FnS's friends shows up with his young son. Here's FnS helping him out... Just to rub our noses in it even more, FnS hooks another one...this one is a tag team effort...so here's a pic of the two of them holding the prize... Early in the afternoon, the rains came down...and we quickly packed up and headed in. I had a great time out there guys...thanks for the invite! I didn't get any fish, but at least I got to fight a few...next time they wont be so lucky!

Congrats to Steph!! Don't worry...I get outfished by the women in my family all the time...LOL. I still have yet to hook into a whitefish...but I'm hoping my luck will change tomorrow!

Standard bit rates for MP3s are 128, 160, 192, 256 and 360. Avoid downloading ones with other bitrates.
-
Make sure when using Limewire to look to the right side...make sure there is a number under "bitrate". (Don't download anything under 128kb/s). The files can be called songname.mp3, but can actually be malicious files. The bitrate tells you they are actual music files.

Great report! Lots of work getting to your spots, but it sure paid off!
