We dont need to remember cause we've logged the conditions on those nights...hehe. Pressure is one indicator, but wind also was key. Even though we've caught them with no on-shore wind, we definitely like to see at least a chop on the water...that seems to be key for us as well. Thanks for your reply...very interesting responses from everyone.

Thanks Bernie...the funny thing is, this thread was started back on Nov 21st...someone must have participated in the poll to bring it back... We kept track of all the conditions of the big Walleye we caught...so we have noticed some definite trends for our area. Cliff

CC is right, but lots of bait stores carry cured loose roe...try Gagnon's in Oshawa...they had some cured trout roe the last time I was there.

We only stayed out another 1/2 hour after seeing you...the wind picked up and got cold...that and the crap was floating down river and had to dodge too many pieces of driftwood. Nice work out there!

Way to go Kemper! I had a situation like that a few weeks ago...had the thing half beached and out the water. I went to pick it up and my leader broke...as it turned to swim away, I was able to clutch it, but once in the water, it ruled...LOL. No worries....congrats!!

Hard to say...temps for Barrie and area are going to be hovering around 10C during the day and above freezing at night too...

One thing too...I listen to 680 news every day and they dont usually report on hwy 407 conditions, unless there is a major disruption....not sure about other stations though.

This series with the Sabres is akin to the home and home losses to the Canadiens last year near the end of the season. They did well after that for the final 12 or 13 games, but that Canadiens series was the turning point for sure. They went with Aubin in net for the final games and he played amazing for us. If they can win both games, they should make it....if they split, it'll be a nailbiter....if they lose both it's goodnight. I've been a Leafs fan my whole life...even thru the crappy 80's....LOL. GO LEAFS GO!!!

Wow!!! Great job out there....too bad it rained...who know how many you would have pulled in!!! Awesome pics and fish there. I checked a few local tribs around 730pm last night...completely blown out....didn't even bother putting a line in the water. This work thing sure does get in the way doesn't it? LOL. I've never experienced a trout opener on the tribs before, so I'm sure I'll be one of the 20 guys standing around one pool....LOL. If I knew of other places to go other than the standard popular ones, I'd head off there, but alas, I'm relegated to the usual spots. I'm not complaining...I just gotta get out there and do my homework.

Snag...checked out our shore spots late afternoon yesterday...and all were muddy with almost no visibility. The water in one of your shots had that great green tinge to it. Oh well, hopefully we can hook into one before the season closes!!
