  1. WOO HOO!!! Great report and pics! Congrats on your new PB too....I believe I predicted not too long ago that you'd start to catch the bigguns. Great job Victor.
  2. Happy Birthday Joey! Hope Paul was extra nice to you today and that you got EVERYTHING you wanted!! Cliff & Carole
  3. I like this idea. It also already happens I'm sure. I believe it's more of an etiquette thing, and not something you can put a hard and fast rule against. Maybe even put something in the board rules with tips on how to take pics and not give away locations. Some members on here do an AMAZING job at doing this. As an aside...when reading other's comments....the people who are worried about spots being over-run with people are not the same people who are posting the pictures. Those of you saying "If you dont want your spot taken, then dont post pics"...you've missed the point. The point was that other people....who in their excitement/newness to this kind of messageboard, post their reports without giving the photos a second thought. Anyhow, that's the last I'm saying on this....
  4. FOTB....Great work in keeping the leaderboard updated! I check that spreadsheet a few times a week to see how teams are doing. Thanks for the efforts!!!
  5. Wow...how long does 50 lbs of leeches last you??
  6. Nice carp! Even though it was "short", the pics fill in where the words didn't. I love your pics in your reports!
  7. LOL about that lady with the dog...should have told her that even though it looks like a fishing rod, it's the latest in fencing gear. Then go to jab her dog and see what she does... j/k of course. Sorry to hear about the carp....but that 15" bullhead sure is a big ulgy fish!!! When I'm being skunked, I'll throw a worm on a hook and bottom fish...most times I pull a bullhead out...makes me feel better....haha. Great report!
  8. Someone there at google has a sense of humour!!! Loved it!
  9. The scary thing is our gas is still a bargain compared to Europe Take a look at prices of gas in the UK. Here we are paying just over a buck a liter, and there the average price is 93.3p....or $2.05 in Canadian Dollars. http://www.whatprice.co.uk/car/local-petrol-prices.php
  10. And that is what fishing is all about. I'm sure the excitement you felt for your dad was the same excitement he felt for you when you were a young kid. The report was very well written....I felt like I was a spectator! Congrats to you and your dad....you had a memorable day out there....priceless....really priceless.
  11. Wow!!! Another awesome report. Some great looking Pike there....and that bonus bowfin....great job out there you two! The pics are great...the weather was great...and the fishing was great....what else can you ask for?
  12. Love this picture! Glad to see you had the drawbridge put in for that family of ducks that like to use this as a short cut.
  13. LOL....heard this on 680 news....it was introduced by one councellor, but pretty much shot down immediately. It'll never happen
  14. Very cool...gonna put some heavy duty tires on it and use it to tow all your ice fishin gear next winter? Great thing about it is at the end of the day, you could just put in the trunk of a car...haha. Nice work!!!!!
  15. I'd say good luck, but something tells me you wont need it. Have a great time out there!!!
  16. Yeah...I agree with HH and nel... $30 could make the difference between an enjoyable time out there and pure agony!! As far as in the cabin is concerned, keep in mind that the coils you can buy are insecticides. They are not repellents, so keeping the place ventilated is important. By candles, I'm assuming you mean citronella? If so, then I woudn't waste your money...unless you like the smell. You can buy netting that can go over a bed if that's what you are worried about....here's a pic...available at Canadian Tire for $20. Here's the link with more info.... http://canadiantire.ca/browse/product_deta...fromSearch=true
  17. Really makes you think about our involvement. Canada has gotten the shaft in the history books that's for sure! But, I dont think the men and women who serve are looking for the hollywood treatment. They are doing what they do for themselves and for their country...no questions asked!! To me, that's true honour. Thanks for posting this...it's a great reminder!
  18. Great report! Funny how the fishing sometimes just turns on like that. Maybe pizza was the key...hmm...I'll have to remember that....LOL. Congrats on some beauty fish!
  19. Hey there Peps! Glad to see you came out of the lurking forest and that you posted an intro. This is a great community...as you no doubt have already seen. What kind of fish do you target? What areas do you like to fish? I'm know...being nosy....LOL.
  20. Hey Uncle Buck... Bly and I have posted a thread about carping in Lake O....below is a link. We also fish mostly at night, so this will give you an idea of what you can expect! The area where they are congregating is in shallow water....maybe 4 to 5 feet deep...so I'm sure the daytime heating is what draws them there. Where we are, they are VERY active at night...HUGE splashes of water...seeing them moving around etc... http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...amp;#entry68062
  21. Great job on the new PB!!! Dont think of it as getting a small carp...think of it as a warm up to the MONSTER that I predict you'll catch this year!! Dont know about the fight of a 30 pounder, but I know a 20 pounder is fun....takes lots of drag....arm hurts by the time you get it close to shore. No need to explain, cause I know my prediction will come true!
  22. Wow...what a beautiful dog! She'll come around soon I'm sure!
  23. Now dont quote me on this...but I heard that as long as you put your line in the water....with either some live bait or artificial lure, that some people pull lots of fish out of there. I think the world record pic came from there. But you didn't hear it from me.....shhhhhh....... Sorry for the sarcasm...you may get better responses if you introduce yourself first.
  24. Wow...great success today! Any angler would consider todaya success...whether from shore or in a boat. You did work for it (by walking and walking and trying and trying) and you were rewarded with some great looking pike. Great job and report.
  25. GCD...had to look up online what a Garden Hackle was...haha. But no...we didn't try them...and the bad thing about that is that I have some at home in the fridge!!! Oh well..live and learn...they could have been the key!
