  1. I'll be finding some nice shore spots here on Lake O. Maybe find the mouth of a trib where they spawn...hope that the bait fish are aplenty in close, and catch a few before they head out into the deeper waters.
  2. Mike, When I went to your website at the offce, it wasn't working well...the menu across the top flashed for a second and then disappeared so I couldn't click on any links... I'm on my office computer....using Windows XP Professional. Browser is IE version 6.0. I did however look at it at home about a week ago...and I have to say I'm pretty impressed! Your reports do a great job at capturing the essence of an entire trip...and not just the fishing. I can only imagine how great a TV show would be...I'd be watching it for sure!! Good luck...and hope see a few episodes this year! Cliff
  3. And they would be?
  4. Wait a minute...I thought Tonyb said little pressure at piers and from shore??? LOL. Or is that little pressure compared to the tribs??? haha.
  5. I always like this bumper sticker.... ================================================================ If you can read this.... Then you're too damned close!!!! =================================================================
  6. Thanks Jason, but I dont know about that...LOL. I've had some ask me, but I warn them that I'm new at this kind of fishing as well. Bly and I just try to learn as much as we can...then it's just get out there and practice!! On days where fishing is slow, I'll just play around with float depths, weight placement, and drifting techniques to get used to the different setups and see what works well in faster/slower water. You can read all you want, but until you try it all, it's just theory...LOL. BTW....if we can figure out how to land the fish at that opening spot you tipped us off to, I'll call you....LOL
  7. Whoa!!! Those are some HUGE cats! Great job out there guys....I could only hope to hook into ones that big!
  8. Bly and I as a general rule are catch and release anglers. The only exceptions in the past year have been one Walleye (15 pounder), that took the hooks deep in her gills, and a few trout. Bly tried to release the Walleye for 45 minutes, but she wouldn't go. She'll be mounted and up on our wall. We've also kept 2 trout for a nice meal and fresh roe. All other fish have gone back to live another day.
  9. WOW! These pictures are amazing! Just looking at all the different water conditions....slow, fast, clear, muddy...you sure know your stuff! That pic of your daughter is very cute....nothing beats it when they are this age (I have a 5 year old daughter). Nice to see some other species too.....great walleye!!! LOL Thanks for sharing the pics...they were great...as usual!
  10. Hey Scott! Awesome job out there yet again! It's nice to hear that some fresh steel is still coming up the tribs. Bly and I were out last night too, but since I had to be up at 530am (some of us have to work....haha), we only stayed from 9 til 10:15...I know...not the prime time, but at least we got one....LOL.
  11. Bly and I went out tonight to do a little pre trout opening fishing. We headed to a nice night spot on a local trib and began our drifting at the tail end of sunset. We could see lots of suckers in the pool we were at, but also a few shadows that may have been small steelies as well. About a half hour into drifting, my float went down and I landed this scrappy little female. We had high hopes that maybe some more drop backs were cruising the area. My float went down about 15 minutes later....but it was a sucker!! I like to call them bronze trout....LOL. Oh well....this guy put up a nice little fight. Bly caught this little guy...looked like a Trout Perch...but we're not sure. We had a few missed strikes...could see the fish rise to the top and turn after we couldn't set the hook... Anyhow, with the rain coming, looks like the next time we'll be out is Saturday's opener.
  12. LOL...great report...and BTW...hope you're feeling better...
  13. Nice work Jason! Thanks for the quick tour of your bait lab in your garage....it was pretty cool!
  14. Thanks Jason! I'm really hoping that it's clear enough...it's a sweet spot that's for sure! Hope to see you out there! Cliff
  15. I hear you! Bly and I are planning to be out on both days anyways, so hopefully if conditions are really bad Saturday, they'll clear just enough for Sunday. Good luck to you!
  16. Well, bly and I have been planning our weekend for the trout opener. We've scoped out a few out of the way places and are anxious to get out there. I was hoping for a little rain before then, since the tribs' water levels are pretty low and clear...the rain Monday night did help a little. The weather forecast for Thursday is rain beginning in the morning, with heavy rain and thunderstorms in the evening...with localized flooding!! Then rain all day on Friday as well... Now...wouldn't that just SUCK if the tribs were blown for the opener on Saturday?? LOL. Here's to hoping the tribs will be ok!!!
  17. Great report! Good to see more OFNers getting together and having a great time out there. Sounded like a great day with LOTS and LOTS of fish! My 5 year old loves places like that....we can never get her to leave....LOL
  18. Nicely done!!! That is a great lookin Brown that you caught there!
  19. Nice work there Scott! Nice to see some fish back in the lower tribs again. Carole and I haven't been out as much lately...we're saving our roe for the opener!! haha. It'll be strange after you're back at work....and seeing no reports from you!! Talk to you later!
  20. Wow!! It's coming along great! So....I think I can see where my seat will go....LOL. Seriously though...you're doing an awesome job!
  21. Great report Phil! Wish walleye were open here on Lake O!! Nice looking fish and great pics of your boat and sunset.
  22. Wow...I dont even know what to say.... Mr Dylan...thanks for that ray of hope.... In the spirit of what Speedtroll's son is also going through...I will share the sentiment that many on this board are already participating in with our signatures..... BELIEVE
  23. Nice job! Must have felt good being back out in the big water and hauling some nice ones in.
  24. Way to go UA! I'm going to target some of those monsters too...since no one else on our team actively does so. Nice catch and nice pic too!
  25. Scott...so it isn't enough for you to catch everything from the tribs?? Now you have to catch them before they even get there?? LOL. Great job out there...these warm weather reports are killing me!!
