  1. Oh man Wayne...sorry to hear about all the problems!!! I'd be absolutely livid after spending that kind of money on it!! I know you had been looking forward to this past week...heck...so was I after seeing your boat a few months ago!! Hopefully everything will work itself out...and this boat lasts years and years...pull in LOTS of fish....and one day you'll recount this story with a laugh. (or maybe not!! ACK! )
  2. LOL Wayne ...I am fishing for them for a few reasons....number one...no one on my team for the OFC tourney targets them, so I made a conscious effort to do so. Number two...the tribs are devoid of steelhead (or hard to locate and catch), number 3 the Walleye are not back yet close to shore where we have access to them and four....Pike dont hit all that great at night...although I dont know if I'd call a Pike "pretty". Sorry to hear about your camera!!! Guess you have to get film developed....man...that sounded strange..... Welcome back Wayne!
  3. Well, bly and I decided to head out tonight...a spot we go to houses both Carp and Pike. I decided I'd try for Carp....bly for Pike. I set up my rod with my slip sinker, hair rig, a vanilla boilie and some Berkley Power Bait around the hook shank. I cast to an area I know they like to hang out and waited....and waited....and waited....and waited. Nothing...nada...not even a bump. I also know there are LOTS of bullhead in the area, so I decided to put a live worm on the hook itself (along with the boilie and Power Bait)...I figure I may as well not get skunked and catch one of those slimy things. I cast back to the same area and 2 minutes later, I feel the tug-tug of a bullhead, so I set the hook. I was thinking...wow....this is a HUGE Bullhead LOL....only to realize that I had a Carp on. After about 10 minutes I had the guy close enough to net. I'm sure the worm thing was a complete coincidence, but it was strange how it worked out. Here's a pic....he only measured 28.5"...didn't bother to weigh it...but it was probably 10 to 12 pounds at the most. Bly unfortunately didn't hook into a Pike...but on the upside, she's getting pretty good with the net....LOL
  4. Yep...the pics are the one from Kansas... For anyone interested, the story was highlighted on Snopes.com.....a site that authenticates stories as real or fake.... http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/catchfish.asp
  5. Great report UF!! Love that picture of your little one in the tackle box...classic....just classic. I'm sure you'll have her out on a few fishing trips before you know it. Those smallies aren't so smallie....great pics too...handy to have a photographer on board!! I'll have to try the pinkies on pan fish...we almost ran out of worms the other weekend while pan fishing...didn't even cross my mind to use them. Thanks for the tip! Nice pic of the canoe and your beagle too...I'm sure he/she will be fine in it. Oh yeah...sign up for OFAH....it's free...and it's nice to be recognized for your catches. Congrats on a qualifying fish! Great combined report UF...great read!
  6. Guess I'll have to put a basketball in the tackle box.....
  7. I kinda liked NOT going downtown...haha.
  8. Wow...looked like an awesome time out there MrEh!!! It's great you were out with your dad....wish I could do the same!!! Great report and pics...thanks for taking the time to post your report...very well written!
  9. Hey...you didn't tell me that it was THIS weekend...jeez...I have to pack and get ready....hey wait...you didn't invite me did you??? LOL Seriously though, I hope you have a great time and come back with a bunch of pics of a successful fishing trip! Here's hoping the bugs aren't too bad for you! Good luck!
  10. No need for apologies! This is an awesome report...very descriptive. Cant wait to see the pictures. If you need help, shoot me a PM and I'll do what i can ok?
  11. Hehe...great minds Tonyb

  13. If you didn't care, then why even post on this thread?
  14. Cool pics Joey! I'm not much of a car buff, but I can relate to the new car thing! Congrats to him on his purchase!!! I'm sure it'll be great for him. Cliff
  15. We are happy to catch anything that's bigger than a panfish...LOL. Walleye are still our number one target, for shore fishing. They haven't made an appearance this spring yet...hoping they do before the waters get too warm and they head to the deep....crossing our fingers!!
  16. dsn...your pics are always amazing! The carp in my neck of the woods recently have been rolling around together in the shallows...not necessarily jumping...although it's pretty cool to see a 20+ pound carp get a little air when they do jump! I've noticed the bite has been off on them for a while now. Question for the carp experts...is it any better to float your bollie from the bottom so it's suspended or is it just fine to leave it on bottom? I know...a newbie question, but when I see them floating around it's enough to drive you nuts cause they are not on the bottom....LOL.
  17. Great report...that sucks about the garbage and lack of fish though. I hate it when I head to a spot and see garbage everywhere...and it irks me the whole time I'm fishing. If I remember a garbage bag then it gets filled before I leave. On the good side...those pics were amazing...that smooth as glass shot of the water is sweet!
  18. SWEET FISH!!!! Wow...a 30+ pounder...awesome job out there! Great pics and report.
  19. LOL....she'll beat me soon I'm sure...at fishing that is....LOL
  20. I think camp chef got it...here's a pic from the web of a Pine Warbler...
  21. Great pics...especially that last sunset shot! Looked like a great time was had by all...very well written report and fish pics!
  22. I'd say some kind of warbler or finch...but I'm not a bird expert.
  23. SWEEET looking mount!! Congrats...you knew what you wanted and went through lots of planning and organization to get it...the hard work paid off.
  24. Wow...I took some time to read some of those old posts. It's cool to see some great current members who posted back then. It's hard to believe that bly and I have only been members here for only 7 months...as long as there are fish out there to be caught....and OFC is still on the web, I cant see why we wont be here as well. We've met some great OFC'ers, and look forward to meet many more....
  25. Hmmm...that's a tough one.... When the weather cooperates, we are probably out there 5 days a week. Most outings last only 2 hours or so....after our youngest daughter is in bed and sleeping. If the kids are into it, we'll make a day out of it. This past early spring, before the steelhead run, we weren't fishing at all...once the run started though, we'd be out on the tribs maybe 2 times a week.....3 if we're lucky. It'll likely slow down a little...we fish from shore, so once the really warm weather comes and the fish are gone from the creeks and shallows of Lake O, there wont be much for us to go after. So...yeah...we probably fish too much....LOL. It does help though that my wife is into it as much (if not more) than I am.... The great thing is that it doesn't really cost us a lot money...we maybe spend 10 to 20 bucks a week on fishing....and I get to spend lots of time with my wife.
