Mike, I've been dreading this post for a while now. Our condolences to you and all that knew him. You've been a great friend to him, not only in past years, but especially after the bad news earlier last year. Just being with him and talking with him during that time I'm sure meant the world to him. Our thoughts are with you my friend...take care. Cliff & Carole

Fang has it right....I also heard that they knew it was there and regularly fed the fish before they went after it.

Hey Rico You helped me out with Canoe spots this past summer. I live close by to Osh Creek and float fish there from time to time. I do have a few spots I like to try out there. Problem is today (Wed and Thurs) will be freezing...your line will freeze up after every drift...not much fun. Looking at the long range, I may be able to make it out on Sunday. Let me know if that works for you....the creek may have frozen up by then but I'll check (or you can) the conditions on Saturday afternoon and we can make a call then. I can bring roe bags for you if you dont have fresh roe. Let me know what you think. Cliff

Thanks TJ...all the best to you and Monique and the kids.

Wow Joey!!! That's one huge fish to bring through the ice!! Congrats on the PB!!

Sounds like fun! Just be careful getting there....heavy snowfall warning beginning tonight. The further north you go the less the snow, so it could be good for you. If you're coming from the south, leave early and take it slow. Good luck!

Happy new year fellow OFNers!! Please be aware of a heavy snowfall warning for most of Southern Ontario...starting in the Toronto area around midnight and earlier to the west. The snow is supposed to start falling as people head home from their parties, so please be safe! Here's the text from Environment Canada. ==================================================================== ..Heavy snowfall to start the new year.. A low pressure system developing over Missouri will intensify and track northeastward to lie over Lake Erie new years morning..Then over eastern New York state Tuesday evening. To the north of the track...A general 15 centimetre snowfall is expected along the 401 corridor. Snow is expected to develop over southwestern Ontario this evening...Reaching Toronto and the Golden Horseshoe area about the time that the new year is heralded in. The snow will then continue to spread eastward reaching easternmost sections new years morning. While snowfall amounts for most areas will be near 15 centimetres locales near eastern Lake Ontario could see amounts up to 25 centimetres. Snow will gradually taper off during the day Tuesday over most of southern Ontario. However the improvement is not expected to reach eastern sections until Tuesday night. In addition lake effect snow in northerly winds off Lake Huron will cause the storm to persist through Tuesday night for areas near the Michigan border. Cold Arctic air will move into all regions Tuesday night and Wednesday. ================================================================== Check this link for the latest updates.... http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/warnings/son_e.html Live Southern Ontario radar updates can be found here...check as midnight approaches... http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/radar/index_e.html?id=WKR Here's a wider view of radar.... http://www.accuweather.com/radar-large.asp...nal&large=1

It was bound to happen Sam. Your ice reports did warn people though...you are doing a great service here...and hopefully anyone planning to hit the BOQ will check out your reports first! -
What a great service you are providing Sam! Your reports are very informative and very safety minded. Thanks for taking the time to inform us here on this board.

MY WIFE WANTED ME TO CLEAN THE GARAGE TODAY
ccmtcanada replied to lunkerbasshunter's topic in General Discussion
Wow....SHE cleaned the garage while you shopped for fishing gear...and then she helped organize your tackle box? You've got a keeper that's for sure...LOL. If I did that, Bly would have been ticked I went to Bass Pro without her...haha. Great haul of gear there...thanks for the pic. -

Way to go Glen!! Congrats on the PB...that's one great sized crappie! Really makes me jealous seeing your fishing reports....I haven't been out in weeks now....LOL. We are headed to Gander Mountain tomorrow....taking your advice and giving Bly my gift card so she can buy some stuff....haha. Great stuff Glen...congrats again!

I got what I wanted...seeing the excitement of my 5 year old on Christmas morning... Before opening the presents... Opening presents... She has a nasty cold right now, but it hasn't hampered her spirits. Going shopping tomorrow with gift cards from Gander Mountain.....woo hoo!!!!
-
One thing I had heard growing up was this..... When all the kids got their presents for Christmas, the parents would tell them that their old toys should be boxed up and then given away to kids who are less fortunate. Instead of them sitting in the basement with no one to use them, they'd go make another child very happy. We did this when we were young.... I'm not sure the true meaning, but that's what it means to us.

Gotta love urban fishing! It's amazing what can be pulled from the water. Great report and thanks for sharing!

The winds hit here on Sunday morning (I'm currently in Michigan). Reports of downed trees everywhere....and the windows were rattling here all night long. Woke up this morning and all was calm.
-
Merry Christmas to you as well!
