  1. Maureen, I have smaller groups of 3 or 4....but I dont recall a big group shot being taken. Let me know if you'd like some of those pics. Cliff
  2. Yep!!! See this thread.... http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=15660 We're getting all snow here!!!
  3. LOL Lew...your right...we're probably in for 40cm....
  4. I woke up this morning, tuned into 680 news and they said that to the west of Toronto there was a heavy snowfall warning as lake effect snow would fall there before the main storm arrives at 4 or 5 this afternoon. Based on that, I drove in...I would have normally just taken the train. Anyways, by 9am it's snowing like crazy at Yonge/Eglinton. They now changed it to say that the lake effect snow will shift further north to include Toronto/Pickering (no kidding...just look outside....LOL). Anyhow, Toronto is now bracing for 20cm of snow ending by 2am. Here's the warning from environment Canada. Be safe everyone...leave lots of space out there, take your time and get home safe. Warnings City of Toronto 8:43 AM EST Tuesday 12 February 2008 Snowfall warning for City of Toronto issued Total snowfall of 15 to 20 centimetres for today and tonight. Radar show bands of lake effect snow developing over Lake Ontario moving inland with increasing easterly winds ahead of a low pressure system approaching the lower Great Lakes. This lake effect snow bands are expected to give up to 10 centimetres of local snowfall on top of another 5 to 10 centimetres from the approaching low pressure system this afternoon and tonight. Local visibilities in the lake effect snow bands could drop suddenly to less than 1 kilometre due to heavy snowfall and blowing snow. 5. Chris...I've tried to comment on them too...great idea...we can at least try it for a bit. Thanks.
  6. We'll be out there for the Tyler event, but other than that, I cant see a lot of ice fishing in my future. I may try a few more times before ice out however. Keep your reports coming though Glen...they are always a great read!
  7. This will be my second year of participating the Fishing for Tyler Event. It was a real pleasure meeting the family last year and you can count on Bly and I doing our bit for years to come. It's great to hear the progress he is making! See you all in 1 and a half weeks!
  8. I wasn't sure who's report this was at first....it was the all those clothes.....when I saw this picture, it all came back to me! You look that blurry in real life, so it was easy to figure it out. Great report Glen...very thankful for these soft water reports!!! Bly laughed at me tonight for putting all my steelhead gear in a new chest pack...LOL. Gotta get ready for the spring run in oh...8 weeks or so....haha.
  9. Way to go.....I hope the next door neighbors kid's don't miss that noodle....LOL. Great idea!
  10. Sure...Toskala is game, but why would we? I'd say they try to unload the big salaries. The Leafs have been trying to get a good starting goalie for 3 years now they finally have one that isn't breaking the bank.
  11. Ohhh...video cameras.... I was going to tell you to ask Wayne...lots of his cameras are underwater right now!!!
  12. Go to this site to download your manual.... http://www.yamaha-motor.com/outboard/servi...spx?ls=outboard Just choose the year and model. Here's the maintenance schedule for their 4 stroke 200hp....says after the break in period, change after 100 hours or 6 months.
  13. Should tell you right in the manual. Most will tell you the schedule of regular maintenance items like that. What year/make/model/HP motor do you have?
  14. Great report and pics! Good to see lots of success on hardwater this winter.
  15. Rich...not crazy...maybe obsessed?? LOL. Good on you for getting out there! My first steelie ever came on a day exactly like this day you went out. It was well worth it! There is no fishable open water around me or else I'd have been out there as well I'm sure. It's been well over a month since I last wet a line and bly and I are going stir crazy!!! Great job...even with no fish, looks like a good time out there.
  16. 80F?? You are tying to make us all crazy aren't you? LOL. Great report...love the pics. Right now it's -30C with the wind chill here in Toronto....your post shows me that spring can NOT come fast enough! Right now, I'm really enjoying reading posts like yours and GCD...they keep me going!
  17. Lots of these stories coming out recently. Very sad indeed. It seems that with the last few mild winters, as soon as people saw all the snow they equated it with cold temps for good ice to form. I hope I dont see another story like this!!
  18. Yep...I concur. Mike helped my good friends out of a jam by doing some amazing work on their laminate floor installation. Top notch quality and a great guy. Doesn't get much better than that!
  19. Welcome to the board! Great intro and some great pictures as well. I can already tell you'll fit right in here! Looking forward to your reports this coming season. My wife Bly and I have the fishing itch bad....cant wait for the spring run of the steelies up the tribs...until then, I look here for my fishing fix!
  20. Like others here, my dad started it years ago with all us kids. Here's an early pic of him and us with a pike!! I believe this was 1973 or 1974.. I lost my dad back in the early 90's, but not before one last fishing trip. Here's a pic of him with his catch out on the BOQ...just 6 months before cancer took him from us....and as it turned out his last fish caught here on earth.
  21. Yep...we knew this was coming. The kids each got a few movies yesterday for an inside day today. Looking like a family day indoors, with the fireplace going!!!
  22. Sweet work Wayne! I brought a new treadmill up the stairs (that I put together last night), loaded into the CRV, and returned it to the store because the incline feature wasn't working. I then brought a new unit home, pu it together and did a quick 15 minute workout to try it all out. Oh yeah...jammed for 2 hours this morning with the band too.
  23. Oh wow...bly and I fish quite a bit when the water isn't frozen. So, let's say we averaged 3 days a week during the spring steelhead run for about 20 times. Then from May thru to November it's probably about 5 days a week....that's 7 months times 4 weeks time 5 days.....ummm....175 days.... So I guess in total, we fished around 195 times in 2007. Most of those are just for two hours at night...now that we have a boat, we'll hopefully get out a few extra times.....
  24. We've kept a log of how our fishing goes....and barometric pressure is one factor. We've found that if the pressure is on the low side and pretty stable, the fishing seems to be the most consistent. Rapidly dropping pressure can be great too. Pressure that is high (over 102 kpa) or rising very quickly hasn't yielded the best results. There have been a few discussions on this stuff as seen in the links below, but one thing always rings true...you cant catch fish from your living room! http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...pic=516&hl= http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...p;hl=barometric Here's a thread that talks about wind direction.... http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...p;hl=barometric
  25. You are a bunch of smart donkeys!!!!
