Wow...that's sweet Don! Looks like lots of room for storage for everything you'll need out there. You'll have to include it in your next report!

Snow?? What snow??? -
Just what we needed...yet another major winter storm starting on Sunday. The only ray of hope is that the low tracks north a little. That would suck for central/northern Ontario as that would mean 25 to 30 cm of snow, but for southern ontario it would mean a little freezing rain and then all rain into Monday. Here's the watch right now....check out your updates here... http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/warnings/warnings_e.html City of Toronto 3:35 PM EST Friday 15 February 2008 Winter storm watch for City of Toronto issued Significant winter storm on the way Sunday to Monday morning. This is an alert to the potential development of dangerous winter weather conditions in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements. A large scale winter storm which has yet to develop in Texas is expected to move north towards southern Ontario and bring a mixed bag of wintery precipitation Sunday to Monday morning. At this time it appears that this storm has the potential to bring significant freezing rain across southwestern Ontario starting Sunday morning before progressing east to the greater Toronto area later in the day. The freezing rain will be at times mixed with ice pellets and the combined effect can produce very slippery road conditions. There is the chance that the freezing rain will change over to rain Sunday night. Regions located in eastern Ontario including the Ottawa Valley north to Algonquin Park will see the precipitation start out as snow late on Sunday with a shot of freezing rain Sunday night. Current indications show that total snowfall amounts of 15 centimetres is possible by Monday morning. There is significant uncertainty as to the track of this winter storm. Generally the storm is expected to track over lower Michigan on Sunday and move northeastward into central Ontario on Monday. If the storm takes a more northerly track through Georgian Bay there will likely be a significant warm up and a shorter period of freezing rain since it will all turn into rain. Alternately if the storm tracks through the lower Great Lakes the storm will cause a prolonged period of freezing rain and significant amounts of snow to the regions. The Ontario storm prediction centre will continue to monitor the development of this storm. As the weather situation develops appropriate weather warnings will be issued.

I was ready right after the last fall walleye I caught!! I bought our first boat last fall and only got to take it out two times before she was winterized. Every morning I walk out to the car and see the boat there...it's killing me....LOL. -
We haven't had winter since 1999-2000 so I suppose we were due! The nasty stuff coming for Sunday/Monday is looking like freezing rain and rain for Southern Ontario, but snow for the north!!
-
The only good thing about all this snow is that water levels are coming back. My local tribs are about half way back to normal and one of my fav shore spots has recovered about a foot. Mind you, it's still down 2 feet from last year.

Welcome to the board! No need to be intimidated at all. I joined the board at the end of 06 as a complete newbie, and there are no stupid questions. You may get the off smartdonkey answer, but it's all in fun. Looking forward to seeing your reports and dont forget, we like pics! Cliff

Well...here's my boat...not the prettiest....LOL. Notice the lovely 20 year old seats, the 70's brown carpeting...LOL. She floats, the motor works....that's all I need!

LOL...this was great....except that within CTC....fishing and hunting are both under our "Outdoor Recreation" business model. Loved the post......

Heard on the radio this morning that we are stuck in a bad weather system pattern. They are predicting every 3 or so days of snow from now until the beginning of March! The only good thing about it is hopefully water levels in my area come back up to near normal for the spring run on the tribs.....at least that's the silver lining I keep telling myself....LOL.
-
Hey there! Welcome to the board. I have an OFC baseball cap that I wear when fishing...like the one in this picture.... As far as chucking spoons is concerned, for the salmon runs I've had great success throwing little cleos from river mouths and piers. I do not use a leader for this kind of fishing.

Thinking of myself here..... Sport? Not for me...it's just something I love to do. Athlete? Well, some days on the trib maybe..LOL. But not in the classic sense of the word. This is my usual athletic stance while fishing....do I look like an athlete?? LOL. Interesting questions though!

Toronto under a Heavy Snowfall Warning (20cm)
ccmtcanada replied to ccmtcanada's topic in General Discussion
LOL Lew...your right...we're probably in for 40cm.... -
I woke up this morning, tuned into 680 news and they said that to the west of Toronto there was a heavy snowfall warning as lake effect snow would fall there before the main storm arrives at 4 or 5 this afternoon. Based on that, I drove in...I would have normally just taken the train. Anyways, by 9am it's snowing like crazy at Yonge/Eglinton. They now changed it to say that the lake effect snow will shift further north to include Toronto/Pickering (no kidding...just look outside....LOL). Anyhow, Toronto is now bracing for 20cm of snow ending by 2am. Here's the warning from environment Canada. Be safe everyone...leave lots of space out there, take your time and get home safe. Warnings City of Toronto 8:43 AM EST Tuesday 12 February 2008 Snowfall warning for City of Toronto issued Total snowfall of 15 to 20 centimetres for today and tonight. Radar show bands of lake effect snow developing over Lake Ontario moving inland with increasing easterly winds ahead of a low pressure system approaching the lower Great Lakes. This lake effect snow bands are expected to give up to 10 centimetres of local snowfall on top of another 5 to 10 centimetres from the approaching low pressure system this afternoon and tonight. Local visibilities in the lake effect snow bands could drop suddenly to less than 1 kilometre due to heavy snowfall and blowing snow. Motorists are advised to excercise extreme caution.sterly winds ahead of a low pressure system approaching the lower Great Lakes.
