  1. I hear you Wayne! Your finder/gps combo has a screen bigger than my living room TV, so I understand where you are coming from....LOL. I'm talking about my own situation, where I have a fish finder that is worth maybe a hundred bucks. People like me are likely to upgrade slowly over time. A little market research would be HUGE in making this kind of business decision (like the poll you suggested). I'd really want to know the percentage of people who are looking to upgrade in the next 12 months vs those who are looking to upgrade up to two years from now, to people who are quite happy with what they have. The sweet zone for replacement transducer business I would think would be in the latter group....with some spill-over into the 1 to 2 year group.
  2. I find fish finders to be sort of like having a toy. You go out and buy one and use it for a while. Then it breaks and it's a great excuse to go out and buy a brand new one with better features. If the transducer fails within a year, then warranty should cover it. If it lasts you more than that and newer stuff comes out with better sensitivity, better gps capability, better screen size and graphics and so on, then lots of people would investigate those options. I may be way off the mark, hopefully others will chime in on this one too! Someone had a good idea about starting a poll...would be a great way to measure what you are hoping to find.
  3. Some beautiful looking fish! Congrats!
  4. Whoa! Must be one of those European Pike angler who caught that one...either that or it's photoshop....LOL. Actually, I think my uncle caught that fish. It is a cool pic...would be cool to visit there one day.
  5. My backyard rink turned to slush after that last snowfall as well. I was going to try it out, but didn't want to fall thru the ice. I do have a float suit now...maybe I'll try it. Oh wait...the thickness of the ice was only at 4 inches anyways...pretty sure if I fell thru, the water wouldnt' go higher than my boots...LOL.
  6. LOL TJ....it even does that to my name in PMs. I'm sure Rick could fix this...by adding an exact match exemption!! When I send my full name to people on here I put a single space between all the letters. It makes my name easy to remember though...I just tell ppl when writing my last name, just remember that I'm full of $hit... Thanks, I completely forgot I even entered that contest....wonder what fish pic I submitted???
  7. Great stuff Grant! Although seeing all these summer reports is driving me crazy! Bly and I haven't wet a line in over a month now....we need to catch something soon....LOL. Loved the video and commentary...adds a certain elegance...LOL.
  8. guilty!!!! LOL Do I win anything????
  9. Unfair question....they do have regional pricing. Depends on where you are.... I refrained from answering, since I work at head office...in advertising...LOL
  10. Looks just like my backyard did until the kids ran all through it!! We have had more snow in the past week than we did all last winter....at least it feels that way...LOL.
  11. LOL...I spent an hour and a half on the rink this morning. The snow did a real number on it...turned most of it to slush. Had to shovel it all off, scrape off the slush and then flood it all over again. The low part was melted all the way to the liner. A few more floods and hopefully we'll be skating on it again by the weekend!
  12. Well, I ended up staying home today. Bly isn't feeling great, so I'm here watching the little one. Plus, even if I wanted to head into the office, I couldn't get out of my driveway first thing because of the snow plow! I usually take the GO train on days like this, but a quick check of their service showed me that even if I got to the station, I would have been seriously delayed...most of the westbound trains were cancelled this morning during rush hour. So, snow pants went on, and armed with a shovel, my daughter found out how much fun DEEP snow can really be. Here are some pics....the smiles and laughter is worth the dumping of snow we just got!
  13. Great stuff Wayne!!!
  14. Thanks Joey...."try" to hit the high notes?? I thought I did....LOL. Hope you enjoy them...some are live and some are "produced". Recording is my other hobby.
  15. LOL...I cant afford to do that...that guitar is over 20 years old...it's kinda part of the family now...
  16. More vids?? Yep...check out the following link.... http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=ccmtcanada Thanks for the compliment!
  17. Oh goody....extended period of freezing rain...then snow on top. I don't mind snow...just take it slow, but freezing rain scares the bejeezus out of me!!!
  18. The hot chicks are now our wives....and they were yelling at us to stop playing cause they were trying to sleep. The close up shots didn't happen because none of the wives wanted the camcorder so we had to use a tripod. The fireworks and laser beams...again...the wives said no. Sad state of affairs eh?? LOL Thanks Bernie!
  19. Very sorry to hear this news....thanks for the link. He sounded like a great man...willing to do anything for his friends and family. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Cliff and Carole (Bly)
  20. With all this cold weather, and yet another winter storm coming overnight and tomorrow, I was looking through some of my summer videos and came across this. <BR><BR> We mess up at the very end, but hey, it's just rock and roll. So...any interest for a Lakair Rock Concert??? LOL. Hope you enjoy! <BR><BR> <object width="380" height="290"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_eemEwX-s8&rel=1"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_eemEwX-s8&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_eemEwX-s8&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="380" height="290"></embed></object>
  21. Our thoughts are with you for your father! It's a horrible disease, but you always have to keep the door to hope open. Cliff and Carole (Bly)
  22. I suppose because license free fishing weekend was planned long before the new holiday came to be. Events have been planned across Ontario to coincide with the license free day since last year. The new holiday came into existance in the 2nd week of last October. You are right though, hopefully the rocket scientists at the govt will bring them both together next year!
  23. I've worked at Yonge/Eg for the past 15 years....trouble is I only started fishing again at the end of 2006...haha.
