I have the Nautilus Deep Cycle...used it all summer long with a 30lb trolling motor on my canoe and boat. Have had no issues with it at all.

Cool shark pics! Great report....weather looked awesome down there. -
I'm assuming it was just some paper from your printer? If so, then I'd probably take a bunch of photocopies to keep as extras.
-
Great stuff Scott! The waters there looked surprisingly in good shape!
-
Another great report! I'm glad that you got all that ID stuff back in time for this awesome trip. Whenever I read one of your reports, there is always something in there that makes me think how I can apply some it to my own outings....that's one of the things I love about reading them. I'm pretty limited in my experiences so far, but seeing posts like this makes me want to head out even more than I already do! Thanks for taking the time to post...it's always a real treat to see one of your trips posted on here.

Maiden Voyage w/ The Pontoon

Wow! That final mods look awesome! Great to see it all come together like that. That is some serious fishing machine you got there....get a new deep cycle marine battery and you're all set for a full day out there. -
LOL Glen.... Great stuff Bill! Lookin forward to your reports with the new gear.

Hey douG! Happy Birthday! Hope you had a great day!

I dont buy it....you mentioned Bowmanville in your other thread as well....I think you just like to stir up crap on here. You know that people are very protective about locations, yet you go ahead and post creek names in your reports. Oh yeah...so mentioning a little known creek that holds lots of fish will reduce trespassers...not likely...
-
I had no idea what creek it was from Steve's thread....after reading yours I have an idea....if you were so against trespassing, why would you leave a clue like that...or was that your attempt at deception?
-
Wow...I remember the first ultrasound I saw of my daughter....it all becomes real when you see it..... Congrats! I know it was a thrilling experience!
-
Wayne....I can see my report now.... Went sucker fishing and caught all these steelhead....maybe 10 minutes and the thread is locked? Those fish made it north of the tracks to spawn...as far as I'm concerned it's a sanctuary for all fish until opener.
-
Hmmm....so I can fish north of the tracks for suckers...and curse every time I get an incidental steelhead?? LOL
-
I agree they put up a pretty good fight...but there's always something disheartening when you are fishing for steelhead, and a sucker ends up rearing it's head. Here's one I caught last weekend...my face isn't in the shot because I was crying at the time.....LOL.

Shhh....next thing you know, hydro will go up too....
-
I just picked up that same book that jdmls mentioned....it's a GREAT read if you're getting into this kind of fishing. Start with that, and supplement as necessary if you still have questions.
-
LOL...so you were THAT kid.....

You are right...When packing for trips, I'll put the lighter, bulky items up top. A week's worth of clothes for 4 people is pretty heavy and always went in the car. There was always something light that I'd put up top...pillows, pack n play, food etc...

Mike...no issues with cracking or wear and tear of plastic as of yet...and it's now 6 years old. The locks on the sides and the clamps on each end do a good job of keeping that lid down when driving. I cant remember, but if you go to CTC, they'll have a cross reference chart...you may have to buy a separate kit to attach it to your roof rack if what is supplied wont work. Ok....tarp thing... I've found that a little water can seep into it in heavy rain. I'd get a tarp that is at least twice the size of the carrier and put it on the bottom. I then load the stuff in and "wrap" the contents, then close the lid. You have to make sure that the tarp is big enough that there is sufficient overlap on all 4 sides. I hope that helps.

I bought one of these and have used it for years...maybe 3 to 4 times a year. It's been a lifesaver for us on trips to the US. It was the best 150 bucks I've spent. Click here to see product..... It has a seal that goes all around the carrier, but I've noticed when driving in rain and little does get in. I line the bottom wit a tarp and that does the trick.

I heard the CBC is making a TV movie about his hockey and family life. It was ritten by his son. At any rate...like him or not, he's an excellent ambassador for Canadian hockey!

Glad to see you posted this report and pics Steve! Yep...I figure the same thing....if anyone can recognize a spot from a foot of shoreline and a few trees and grass then by all means go fishing there. The conditions of the tribs change by the hour...just because you see fish in those picds doesn't mean they'll be there a few hours from then. Anyhow, great stuff Steve!

Another Fishing Outing turned Nature Watching NF
ccmtcanada replied to Ben_Daniels's topic in General Discussion
Great report! One time, while trib fishing at night I was drifting for some trout when the crowds were not around...just me and the sound of gently running water, the trees, and peace and quiet. I couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting any hits. Suddenly it sounds like someone dropped a cinder block from a height of about 100ft into the water. I jumped out of my skin, my heart rate went to about 200, and I almost dropped my fishing rod. Seems I was sharing this part of the trib with a beaver. Love the pics!! Soon that area will be teaming with fish....still a bit early....seems everything is a bit late this year.
