If it's holding at 12 it should charge some more. You have 6 cells...each produce about 2.2 volts when charged..so if you have a bad cell you'll only get about 11.4 volts or so...

Three of them in total ! ..and I'd call them holes more than channels! ...and if Will meant the boat channel...well that works toooooooo Just be aware that most of the markers are gone...just a few Red ones left out at key points.

If it's been charged and sitting for a few days...usually about 13.2 to 13.7 Volts If it's less than 12..she's toast

Skip the solder/welding PERIOD. It just weakens the parent material to each side of the weld and next year your'll have two cracks for the price of one. Is this just a tinny with full access to the inside? If so haul the thing over here and I'll fix it if you donate $75 to the Cancer Society.

Don't laugh Goran...I do use it on my aircraft engine cooling baffles when I'm too lazy to fix a crack!
