  1. Name rings a bell Peter...gonna ask my mother next time we talk.
  2. Great stuff Bill ! Nothing like a good family outing.
  3. Possibly off the hood of an old Citroen from that time era. Many Citroens in the Ottawa Valley/western Quebec. Could have been on a delage or a dietrich as well...but they had greyhounds it appears. More of his work. 4. Some good doo do comes out of Smiths Falls from time to time! Most of it HOT... lol Wrapped in a Mechanics rag...wonder who's hood it came off? So you sayin you're not gonna keep it.... Do you remember where the cottage was..down there in my stompin grounds.
  5. Hope he didn't move out of there too quick...should have a 'ski for him tomorrow ! LOL Quite the feat they accomplished!
  6. Well Lew...when I wake up tomorrow. ...I will get up and not roll over. Might need that extra time to shovel a spot to pull the boat out! LOL Seriously...you're right. I know if I wake up at 6 say... I feel ready to go...but then feel it's too early to get up, don't wanna wake the wife and go back to sleep and feel like poop at 8am..or 9am... or 10...
  7. Man...maybe I'd better rethink this BOQ trek......
  8. Some great fish there...thanks for sharin! And to think my buddy is on Harrison Lake and doesn't even fish for them....
  9. Gerritt.. I have issues with the legs (running in your sleep). First considered it my be sleep apnea and thank god we ruled that out as it's medical invalidating for a pilot. Do you drink a lot of pop with caffine in it or coffee. When my son sits his legs go absolutely ape sheett most of the time if he's had too much normal pepsi and he doesn't realize he's doing it either until someone yells at him for vibrating the floor.. He now drinks caffine free and this has pretty much stopped. I also found my energy levels increase in the summer when I was much more active and drinking MUCH less pepsi. Also finding I'm getting a full night sleep now that I'm using the "Pat Quinn" strip on my nose to sleep...as it really does open your nazel passages and allow you to breath properly thru you nose. Wife's bonus...pretty much no snoring on my part anymore and she gets a good sleep as well. Oh..and what Andy said in his fish post..Alcohol.
  10. Was it caught casting or with a trolling bait?
  11. Merc manuals say 300 hrs or 3 years now. That said...I have never changed an impellor..including the 1976 9.9 at the lake that still pees just fine and saw serious use as a rental motor before I owned it..and looking at it I know it was never serviced.
  12. Have to see how much work I get done around here in the next few weeks and what the weathers doin. Good luck THIS weekend...
  13. Shut up Cliff !!!! They haven't got it right yet for the last 2 days...but with my luck they've got this one right. It's raining right now..but it's not that cold up here yet. Think I'll go get the top all set up on the boat for morning though..... The only good thing...I think the weather/temp drops gonna put them on the feedbag and tomorrow may very well be THE day. Water was still above 50F on Saturday...this may put it below finally.
  14. Are there any fish in the upper Niagara.... member formerly known as Squid.... Peter? lol
  15. Thumbnails seem to have a 250kb limit...but you can respond to your own post and put them all together Peter. Nice pike!
  16. I'll NEVER be attached to a foot pedal..ever again. Motorquide wireless for me.
  17. Andy! You'll be pretty lonely there all by yourself when I kick you out of the plane...after taking your money! We'll see where it goes from here...just faxed my paperwork to the lawyer.
  18. I thinks ya need to go into your profile and select -5 hrs from GMT !!
  19. Thanks Mike...one of the VERY few publicly owned pieces of mainland on the lake. Now if you're interested...there's another 46 acres way up the lake owned by the same little old ladies...listed at the same price..has Ferguson Mountain as a backdrop and I'd suspect U could get it for what I paid..maybe even less. It's gonna be a real fight...as the canoe camps have used it like their own land for decades and will be hard to throw/keep off of it. I've got one campsite on mine that is shown on every Temagami map, as everyone thinks it's crown land. Time to paint that old sportspal that's rotting out in the back field bright pink...to leave on the shoreline with a couple lawn chairs so everyone paddles right by! LOL
  20. Well three weeks of sign back extensions (thanks to a trust fund executor wanting appraisals so he doesn't get sued after the fact if it's worth more than it sold for) and I finally know that I will own, for all intents and purposes, the most expensive campsite on Lake Temagami. I've now got all winter to figure out what the hell I'm gonna do with it...but I couldn't turn a blind eye to 26 acres of waterfront property and 4500 feet + of shoreline at only 40% of listing price! Giving some thoughts to, instead of tents, to haul a couple RV trailers out with slide outs etc...for similar money as going the tent route. As long as the tires stay on they're portable by simply calling the barge service so they can't stop me there either. I'll give them a choice...tents/trailers/houseboats tied to shore... or just give me building permits for the property. Those folding houses Mike the Pike linked look really neat (and I bet really expensive), but I guess the company is doing so well there's no need for them to send me the brochure and price lists I asked for. If anyone is considering Northern cottage property...now's the time to start looking. Americans are starting to sell out...stuff that's been in families for a 100 years etc. Now that they get $105,000US/$100,000Cdn it's a no brainer, compared to say 4 years ago when they would have got $65,000US. This land I bought has been in the family for about a 100 years. The 72 and 73 year old sisters and their deceased sister (trust) have never seen the property they just sold (they also don't know whom the appraiser was ) Also, when Glen and I were out on Georgian Bay on Saturday I'd never seen so many for sale signs on cottages in the Honey Harbour area in the 20+ years I've been boating it.
  21. Yep..jack the frame..lets the springs regain some arch and lets the tires stay round...helps keep the sidewalls from cracking at the "bulge" as well. Yours, Maureen, can probably be done by simply lowering the hitch jack all the way down...putting axle stands/wood blocks under the frame behind the wheels and then bringing the hitch jack all the way back up.
