  1. Looks like they're who you book John Harding's ice bungalows thru as well !
  2. Been told today Mike ?
  3. He thinks he's on ebay and going to start accepting bids at that price!
  4. Sounds like a great time Rustic. Thanks for the info on the depth and presentation.
  5. Also the option of doing some smaller back lakes for splake and brookies, Cassels Lake for trout/eyes... Rabbit Lake for same... speaking of which Gramps has bungalows on Rabbit Lake. Gramps Bait and Tackle...suspect should be under Temagami in the phone book or Martin River. Jim at Dad's Outdoor Store will point you in the right direction for back lakes that you can access. [email protected] Tell him Wayne told you to email him and he'll help you out a tad more. He may be in Labrador on a Caribou hunt right now though....
  6. I've never stayed in any of them. Told Loon lodge is okay. I stop there most days in the summer for a cold pop,for the 12 mile run down the NE Arm..... so I've seen the dining room/store/kitchen and it's CLEAN. Moosebunk uses TAMAR when he goes there in the winter. Temagami Shores Inn is a $100 or so a night for a room. They do have a ice fishing package. Pull up their website and I think it gives rates. They rebuilt all their huts for last season.. still not the greatest, but I think Larry puts huts on much better spots than Bill use to do when he was looking after them. It's a BIG lake and it's called fishing...so never any guarantee. Last year 5 of us fished 3 days and pulled up 5 or 6 fish... had a blast none the less. I'd imagine huts are being moved to the fish this year, with favourable surface conditions. Last two years it was impossible.
  7. When you say "cabins"... do you mean a cabin... and shuttled to an ice hut... or an on the ice bungalow? The only bungalow operator I know of, but I'm sure there's probably one more, is John Harding. I forgot to bring home a phone book.. so you'd have to try information for a number. Many of the lodges in the hub have accoms and huts out. Loon Lodge, Ketchenany Lodge, TAMAR, Lynda's Wigwams on Bear Island rents for I believe a $100 a night for a cottage and you can contact thru her husbands email [email protected] I know Ketchenany's hut has satelitte radio and I think Troutnmuskiehunter and his party of 3 or 4 got hit for $800 for Friday night to Sunday afternoon. Guess the new owner has to pay for the place somehow. There are others on the lake as well... Fang probably knows them well. There is also the option of staying at Temagami Shores in the village and they shuttle you out in the big box to the huts... that are probably out around O'Connor Island or Ferguson Island by now. Other option is finding somewhere to stay and going it on our own... do you have sleds? Here's a link for accoms in temagami... looks like it has everyone I mentioned and then some... except John harding http://www.temagamivacation.com/accom/index.asp
  8. I don't keep track.. maybe I should start. Last year.. somewhere around a 120 days. As for your handle.. go to "my controls" and if you want you can change it there... not that there's any real need. There's worse around here...
  9. It ain't gonna go anywhere on Simcoe this weekend anyhow.. Check LadyWalleye's thread on conditions. Try PM'ng "Landlocked" for insurance.
  10. Them Cedars make good dock boards Cliff !
  11. I've got a long way to go yet Rich ! Note my choice of music..... got a spare hat?
  12. Yah.. but that's only because their Zamboni is powered by Mercury!
  13. As you say Cliff... my 50/200 was defective out of the box.. or should I say installed on the boat. Warrantee replacement. Now if that thing fails again.. say 3 years from now.. I won't be buying a new combo unit to replace it, I will buy a transducer alone for a couple hundred bucks vs a few thousand upgrade...and why I told vanselena to start a poll to see what numbers have ever had a need to replace just the transducer. I never had to replace the humminbird transducer on our 26' Tempest in the 20 years we had it.. or the old POS Fiberform we had before it. Okay,, so I see Terry got one in while I was typing. Hope he's not as hard on my stuff next week !
  14. We have one lone bird that showed up in Temagami August of '06. Unfortunately when I returned with the "solution" it was gone. Wanted to get it before it brought back friends, as one bird leaving what looks like someone dumped a 5 gallon pail of white paint on your dock (after a 2 minute sit) is enough. Saw one again this year alone. Hope it stays alone... but I now bring the "solution" with me in May so I'm prepared if I get the chance.
  15. You'll get one like that next year Hun.... don't get in too big a rush!
  16. "Not too much inventory" T.J. Have you ever tried to find an accessory for a Lowrance unit.. plug changes every couple of years. Vanselena... do a poll. See how many here have ever needed to buy a replacement transducer. I've bought one in my lifetime...that didn't come with a unit.. and only because I broke the wires above the puck on my portable and couldn't be bothered to cut/splice and reseal. It cost me $32, at the time, at Trembly's tackle shop for an OEM Hummingbird. Big Cliff typed you up a nice list of things you need to do/comprehend before going forward. I was too lazy to do that and summized all that into my one line answer to you. The only sure thing is nobody ever got anywhere just lying on the couch...... well maybe Nicole Simpson !
  17. They have to clear the snow off University... before they can put up the road blocks Carl !
  18. In this type of business deal, if you don't know the answer already... then no.
  19. .. has to be the most uncoordinated checker I've ever seen. He's never come out on the good end of any hit and just like this one usually misses his target and hits the boards. He would have been called for boarding if his target hadn't slumped ahead of time... maybe what the boos where for....
  20. There is also a small $2.95 "poor mans downrigger" on ebay. It's a little stainless item that when the fish bites it pulls the pin and drops the weight. I don't like the idea that much of intentionally littering the lake bottom with what ever you use as a weight, but it would be great rig for a paddle power boat.
  21. It's true too Jamie. When nothing seems to be bitting on Lake T, I slap in Back in Black and crank it out in the middle of nowhere..where it bothers no body... and FISH ON ! Trolling Muskie with Lew... peace and tranquility.. accented by "what.. another one"! LOL
  22. Cliff, save yourself some heartache, and cuts of meat you'll only watch freezer burn, and go see that local butcher for a 1/4 or 1/2 side of beef. Cut and wrapped to your normal meal amounts.
  23. There's no Hamilton Beach in our local flyer! Rival only and it's $69.99 !
  24. Thanks for the report Shelley ! The good thing is, Terry... no snow fall up North.
  25. Hung Hei Fat Choi Stan!..... from a tiger !
