I didn't see anyone saying it "won't happen here" Sunny ! We did our best to get recinded what, for all intensive purposes, was the same reg thrown at Lake Temagami in 2005. Ban on the use of Sucker or cisco for bait. This was the first step towards the 5.1" without specifically saying so. We all complained about dictating bait and not the fishing method of gourge hooks.... if that was the true issue. The reg was never lifted, nor any exceptions written...but the two area CO's wouldn't lay charges for it and many of the lodges where bringing in sucker minnows by the bucket full for clients. Now this year we do indeed have a 5.1" minnow limit and I'm sure those of us that fish it will be trying to get the same reversal that Zone 18 got. I'll know more when I sit on the stool, in the Temagami bait shop, in 7 days.

Knew I'd seen a link.. but unfortunately it only brings up the same poster. Word of mouth to get tickets for seminars seems odd... but apparently the salmon seminar is already or very close to sold out @ 200 people fire code room limit. http://www.fishandboatshow.com/ All I can suggest is the old fashion way.. .pick up the phone and call them !

Don't worry oldphart.. any that know me know that it will get shared amongst some OFC'rs. I could never use up these plastics as it's not in my fishing style. Maybe it should be and I could stop posting landscape pictures... but I've always been a meat and potatos kinda guy and it's hard to switch tactics.

Again, lots of options up that way Johnny, but consider travel times and where to stay. Temagami shores has rooms by the night... and ice fishing packages as well where they will take you out to their huts down past my place. I suspect they are out around O'Connor Island or Ferguson Island right now and getting into Whities by day and 'eyes by night around O'Connor Island. Heard the lure for the evening was a small green little cleo. Last year it was a Salmo in perch colour. Lake Trout doesn't open until Friday the 15th and closes 3rd Sunday of March. There is also a CTV $100 a hole derby on March 15th with 500 holes/tickets being sold. $25,000 in CASH prizes if all holes sold, plus other large prizes.

LOL Steve... Like I told you, if you can afford to put a hit on one of four.. there's room for you! Johnny, there are lots of back lakes as well for specks and splake.... some with drive to access and easy access off HWY 11. Parking is just the problem so you need to be there early...because the ones that park in the snowplow turn around get towed. PM me and I'll hook you up with Jim that owns the tackle shop up there for directions (if he's not already gone to Labrador for caribou hunt)

Sad part is he got what he wanted Roy... Looked like he had about 6 hours to fill a lot of mail boxes with a link to where he wants people. Maybe that Rick fella has a way to defeat the use of the PM function until you have a set # of posts or a time period. Same should be done to lock the classifieds to a few that have used it and never posted to a thread...one ongoing as a business.

Johnny....you don't need a machine. Not sure how far the road goes right now from the town boat ramp... but at least past my place thanks to my 2 neighbours. In the hub (take the Lake Temagami Access Rd about 5 miles South of town)... there are ice roads plowed to many places and you can drive out... get off to the side and get down to business. Just be sure to walk a good distance from the road before drilling holes... or the locals will get a tad ticked with ya! I'll be able to tell you exactly what's happening on the 19th when I get back.
